The Napf Mission (Ravage)

Description
After successful missions in Esseker and Altis, your mysterious employers have asked you to undertake an even more treacherous task. Head to Napf island, a location hit hard by both the fungus and the radiation, and find documents scattered about the place. Thing is, an advanced AI system was being tested on the island just before the nukes went off, and the AI doesn't like the humans living there.

Employers' note: "We'd ask that you be extremely careful here, Napf will be the most hostile place you've been to yet. You're a valuable asset, especially with your prior experience on Altis and Esseker. The local Resistance has been informed of your presence and are friendly, and as such will provide assistance to you whenever possible. Be warned; hostile agents and criminal gangs are also present on the island, and will attack on site. Also, be wary of the drones. Though the AI hub isn't on Napf, it still appears to have great control over drone UGVs and UAVs, so watch out. NATO is dealing with the worst of the AI threat abroad, but so far haven't been able to reduce the number of drones on the island. Avoid main roads if you can. Good luck, agent."

Because it was asked: There's no infection system from Vandeansons Apocalypse, nor the VA UI (doesn't seem to work with saving and loading anyway), but it's got the random sites and patrols spawning. Removed dogs for the time being as they have issues with AI.

A big thanks to the Arma community, without whom I wouldn't be able to make these kinds of missions. You guys are awesome!

Another big thanks to Kevin MacLeod, who's music I've used for the radios in this mod. Attributions included within mission file, also link to his website: https://incompetech.com/

Big thanks also to the cool people at https://freesound.org/ who let people like me use their sounds for free.

Another track used is Leno's Song from the Hell Night OST, which is on YouTube

A side note: I used to have JBOY's dog pack script on this mission. The mission now uses Vandeansons Apocalypse so it shouldn't need it, however when I was getting rid of the old files, Arma would crash after deleting the JBOY dog file. So if you unpack the PBO and find that, it's JBOYs mod and I was unable to remove it. Many apologies.

Another note, I've added two radios that play in the game. They can glitch and loop, playing over each other. Just reload a save and it should fix it. They also only appear in two camps so they're not all over the place, if they're annoying.

Also, let me know if there's any issues with the mission, or if I've done something wrong. I'll correct it right away.

Thanks

Sorry about it being vague, honestly I think I was wanting to hint without giving it away, but it's been so long and I don't have it installed that I can't even remember what it was I trying not to hint too strongly at! Next time I install Arma I'll take a look at the mission and edit it so it's not so vague. Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for your reply, I found note 4 in the port now so i'm trying to find the start of the second trail to find the identity of the author of the notes. BTW i'm really enjoying this scenario it's just a pity that the comment "hill west of Sorenburg" is a bit vague. Maybe someone who's completed this scenario will see this comment and add some pointers.

Hi! I'm not entirely sure where Note 4 is since it's been so long since I edited this map (plus I don't have arma 3 installed atm). I can't actually remember where it is myself. The only thing I can think of is the hill above the dam where the radio station is, the dam with the settlement on it. Sorry I can't be more help just now

Just in case anyone is still monitoring these comments, I have found all the notes and I'm looking for the place indicated in note 4, hill west of Sorenburg to find the trail to the writer. The only hill to the west is where the Tiberius HQ is but there's nothing left to find.

Yeah, sorry about that! One of the problems with making lots of missions is the fact I can't remember where everything is, and then I go and move on to playing other games which doesn't help either

ok. I'll retry.:steamhappy:

I'm honestly not sure, it's been ages, but it sounds like you've found everything. At Hafen... I can't remember honestly, but there might be something around there. Sorry I can't be more help, it's just been so long since I tested it.

Thx HyphenTorpedo.
But I can't find any more intel.
In addition to the basic locations marked on the map, I collect intel from various places such as airfields and plane crash sites.
I've also been to the scavenger outpost in Hafen, but there's only a bloody skull and no intel anywhere.
Am I missing something?

Yeah, they should spawn, I remember finding anti-rad pills. Geiger counters and rad suits might be spawning too, but they're rare
