It seems they somehow work, I can see them opening and closing on their own sometimes.
If you see elements with a kind of greenish blotch on them, this means you need to remove the element and replace it with the new version. This applies to curved elements (walls, trims, fences, curved ceiling).
I've modified the attachment system. It's the same as Funcom's (with its faults, but it's compatible), and so, the elements no longer have the original point and the same attachment points, they have to be replaced, and it's with this mossy, ugly, musty texture that I indicate the parts to be changed.
I'm sorry for your trouble.
Everyone, please see my Reddit post about the issues I had, URL is below. Similar to the experience others have had here. Several images of my pyramid-turned-town in addition to the carnage that unfortunate game-mod disagreements can inflict.
In my singleplayer solo playthrough, I have not seen the foundation block instead dropping a curved wall. Selection and building seems accurate and proper.
One thing I didn't see mentioned was the outright replacement of one Desert Town ceiling tile for another, from Bricks to Mossy, in my tavern. There's a pic in the Reddit post.

Again, thanks for the mod. It's a great one.
Everything that was on these tiles is gone, and I mean everything: workbenches, chests, etc. When I lay new tiles, other items sometimes disappear across several rooms.
I can only recommend you google "Conan Exiles mod keeps reloading." You'll find some possible solutions there.
Unfortunately, the latest update is difficult for me to tolerate. The curved floors don't fit well with the squares, creating ugly transitions. Please give us back the old floors; they had nice transitions to the squares on both sides.

Sorry for that
not sure if this is a mod problem
