I try to imagine how Bactria can have a navy, like for the Caspian Sea?
Ciaphas Cain 3 Mar @ 9:33am
dude please dont abandon this!!
Fallen Angel 13 Nov, 2024 @ 5:24am
can you add it to all greek factions?
Grug 8 Mar, 2022 @ 4:21pm
awesome that you did this mod. would you be able to release a mod that is just the naval units and no land unit changes? i would do it myself but i am beyond clueless
[SkFr] Funackis 11 Oct, 2017 @ 7:40pm
i have a wish 4 u, special for the Spartan, i saw your work for this mod, so i hope (because i have see today the both films 300) that u make it possible to set the normal sails to make the ships faster, if u can pls with the Black Sails and the symbol of Spartan on it ;) PS, nice Mod :D
Demon Dog 3 May, 2017 @ 1:29am
can you give the spartan hoplites the helmet from the spartan anthology reskin
BuzzKill 24 Aug, 2016 @ 5:46am
Any chance of making a knossos specific ship that looks and feels more mercenary/pirate?
Colonel puppers 15 Feb, 2016 @ 1:04am
some of the new units only appear as generals, not regular units, mostly the thorax troops
setrus86  [author] 11 Jan, 2015 @ 2:30am
It is a bit outdated, admittedly, but it should still work...maybe you have other mods in place...? :-/
RECKLE$$ 10 Jan, 2015 @ 6:29pm
this doesnt work i adeed it to my mod list, no conflicts at all, but all the ships are unchanged, any ideas, bit stupid having javlinmen for a carthage admiral ship
setrus86  [author] 28 Dec, 2014 @ 12:18am
Athens reborn!? Errr...there aren't any Athenian marines? I believe those are just thorax swordsmen you're referring to. If you go to the first page there though, you'll find all the mods I use, one's called "leather thorax"...it's the one making them look like they do. :-)
Chris P. Bacon 27 Dec, 2014 @ 10:46pm
In your AA Athens reborn which mod do you use to get the Athenian marines?
Attercop 5 Dec, 2014 @ 9:48pm
This is actually awesome. I wish CA would fix the admiral's ability bug where they are greyed out. Great unit diversity!
Chiron 3 Dec, 2014 @ 12:33pm
Oh well, thanks for the response.
setrus86  [author] 3 Dec, 2014 @ 8:07am
I seeeeeriously doubt it. :-o
Chiron 2 Dec, 2014 @ 6:44pm
DeI compatible?
Dalnar 4 Oct, 2014 @ 11:39am
I think there is a bug with admiral ships in campaign. Seems to work in custom games, but in campaign (at least athens) I didn't have the option for any new admiral ship types.
setrus86  [author] 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:21pm
Huh? I thought I updated/fixed that a week or so ago? Hmm, better update again, just to be sure.
Inethris 12 Aug, 2014 @ 7:05pm
Setrus I think your commander_unit permissions needs a rename, unless it was another mod of mine, it breaks generals units for several factions.
Kerovanka 7 Aug, 2014 @ 7:54am
please bring this mod normal compatibility for the current version of the game,
really wanted to use it.
gwagaba 1 May, 2014 @ 1:06pm
i will certainly do that, and i am very appreciative of this mod because there are so few mods out there that improve on perhaps the best aspect of this game, that being the more important and more interactive navy at least compared to the previous total war games. thank you and keep up the good work.
setrus86  [author] 30 Apr, 2014 @ 10:25pm
gwagaba: I don't think so, haven't actually tested it, my guess is that you would suddenly get the new units mad avaible avaible, but it won't change the crews of already exisiting ships...try! :-)
gwagaba 30 Apr, 2014 @ 8:13pm
is this mod save game compatible?
Babel_fish 26 Apr, 2014 @ 2:40am
Thanks setrus. I will give "A red sea" a try - nice pic, by the way ;-) Having access to more ships regardless of port type will certainly make naval battles against the AI more interesting. But, it doesn't really address the advantage Rome now enjoys with her Hastati Quadreme in health, ramming & boarding, all for the same cost as other factions' Dieres? I wonder how this would affect AI Rome recruitment decisions, even if the player doesn't exploit this as Rome. Guess I just have to start a new campaign to find out! :-)
setrus86  [author] 25 Apr, 2014 @ 2:50pm
Babel_fish: Have you perhaps looked into my workshop? More specifically "A red sea"? I think it might be up your alley in terms of making naval battles better. :-)
Babel_fish 25 Apr, 2014 @ 2:24pm
One way to balance it is to upgrade all major naval factions' Dieres to Quadreme giving them at least numerical parity with Rome. If this takes too much work then maybe raising the cost of Hastati Quadreme to reflect their greater effectiveness? Ideally, there should probably be a three-way trade off between ramming, boarding, and missle attack for naval ships of the same tier, so that each ship type serves a distinct role. I haven't modded any TW game since MTW2, so I'm pinning my hopes on modders like you :-p Keep up the good work!
Babel_fish 25 Apr, 2014 @ 2:24pm
Great mod setrus. I really appreacite the idea behind it - it alwasy bugged me that my mighty Egyptian Tower Octeres are manned by Egyptian 'meatshield' Infantry - but with a bit more balancing it could be even better! Hastati Dieres is, as you say, worthless next to the firepot dieres. However, replacing it with a Quadreme doubles the number of marines onboard and gives Rome too much of an advantage against tier 1 naval ships of other factions, which normaly only have half the number & they are spearmen.
MangyMinotaur 18 Apr, 2014 @ 4:48am
Awesome :bd
setrus86  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 9:33am
Greek "sevens" now avaible for minor greek factions. (not sure which that include, actually, that's as general as a description can get. :-p )
setrus86  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 9:29am
Oh and Patavix, check the different Athenian penteres for their crews...should be changed for both the scorpion and tower one.
setrus86  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 8:42am
I'll see what I can do. :-)
gwagaba 28 Mar, 2014 @ 6:03am
could you make some of these ships accessable to some of the minor hellenic factions such as rhodos and knossos?
Psycho Republic 25 Mar, 2014 @ 11:11am
It is very confusing- I appreciate it haha
setrus86  [author] 25 Mar, 2014 @ 8:48am
I'll see what I can do. :-) (that said, Athens and Syracuse actually have the same "unlocks", so to speak...not sure why CA made it like that.)
Psycho Republic 24 Mar, 2014 @ 8:18pm
Could you make some more of the marine bearing ships available to the Athenians? I compared the Syracusan and Athenian naval roster because they're alike in so many ways already and it's embarrassing how little Athens has access to for ships(my opinion.)
multiplesanta34 5 Mar, 2014 @ 2:25am
This mod really seems to distribute ships in a more sensible way and cuts down on the range imbalance in vanilla. Recommended.
RussTNailz 4 Mar, 2014 @ 6:29pm
sweet mod that works with my other greek unit packs and various overhauls so i get a kickass greek roster without paying for dlc. recommended
setrus86  [author] 11 Feb, 2014 @ 8:42am
Epirus gets the same ships as Athens, Macedonia already has a larger ship avaible, I believe, Sparta gets its hexareme turned into a larger ship with larger crew, Pontus gets a larger ship avaible, Carthage a new crew for their larger ships, just like Egypt...didn't you read the description? :-)
Eukodal 11 Feb, 2014 @ 1:55am
Are those ships available for Athens only? Or do Epirus, Macedonia, Sparta, Pontus and Carthage (they're kind of hellenistic) profit from this mod as well? And what about other such as CPU-factions like Syracuse, Pergamon, Seleucia, "Egypt", and so on?!
Revan519 14 Jan, 2014 @ 5:57pm
o don't get me wrong I love Sparta just wood like more choice on the sea
setrus86  [author] 14 Jan, 2014 @ 10:14am
What's wrong with the spear? It WAS the primary weapon of the hoplite, which Sparta heavily relied upon until their adopting of the pike. :) I mean, unlocking thorax swords or something for them isn't a problem, but it just seems like cheapening their character... :-/
Have you tried Hellas Reformed, perhaps? With the changes to hoplite phalanx, I sense you'd like how Sparta played in it. (plus with heroes of sparta and Royal spartans causing fear and there being no caps to them, they're fairly powerful even in late game)
Revan519 14 Jan, 2014 @ 10:01am
they only have spear units really not point in making a naval units with there limit units
setrus86  [author] 14 Jan, 2014 @ 8:02am
The greek statue was already on the ship, though the ship seemed so rare to me in terms of what ships were allowed that I'm not surprised you haven't seen it before, not many factions could get it. :-)
sleepy.. 13 Jan, 2014 @ 9:00pm
is the greek statue at the helm of the ship added on?
setrus86  [author] 13 Jan, 2014 @ 9:50am
It doesn't actually add any real units, it just modifies a few ships and makes them more readily avaible to more factions, as well as making thorax hoplites more avaible. Sparta's only change is a ship becoming much larger and with a larger crew...what vanilla units would Sparta need that would still play to their character? :-)
Revan519 13 Jan, 2014 @ 9:03am
hope u update this soon and add some better units for Sparta
Buzzerker 2 Jan, 2014 @ 11:46am
it would seem that CA lacks accuracy in matters historical, why is that would you think? they spend years making a historical based strategic and tactical wargame for millions of fans and they don't pay meticulous heed to historical accuracy it really makes me angry to think about it but when you see they allow for mods it kind of saves the situation.
Buzzerker 2 Jan, 2014 @ 11:43am
I have a campaign going now as Rome I befriended Syracuse but that damn Epirus , what a thorn in my side! I will use this mod when I decide to play as Epirus but right now I would rather keep em weak.LOL
Tortura 23 Dec, 2013 @ 7:53am
отлично, интересно почему у этого мода не 5 звезд:happymeat::masonfist:
Gold Digger 22 Dec, 2013 @ 7:58pm
Nice!
