@Gudilla - Iunit textures seem to work fine here. Can you say specifically what you're seeing, and does it still happen with other mods disabled?

I lost 1,000 men to towers because of wooden towers. I was against barbarians. Thanks God.

I think its not save game compatible, because my imperial Cohort died like they have no shields and armor by towers. And was a foggy night time.

@rustam if I got the gist of your comment right your complaint is that oil is not disabled. Oil is not supposed to be disabled by this mod, just nerfed (made less powerful).

A nice change for towers, defenses will be more reliant on men and their positions.

Doesn't work for me, towers kill Testudo even with no ap and 9999 block chance...

@Peel: I haven't buffed testudo in any way, it's a side effect of nerfing the towers' stats. In testing a small unit in testudo on my machine tends towards a half-life about a minute longer than without this tweak when moving in a tower's AoF, but sadly no magic. :( ottomh I guess you could try tweaking the ratio of ap_damage:damage and testing the results til it's how you want it?
@Skittles - I'll look into it, perhaps that's one for a separate minimod. :)

Personally I love towers, and have made my own balance mod for them. However, you say that you've made the Testudo better at passing towers? Could you post a video please, as I couldn't find any way to do this...

Man, if you can remove towers or stop them from firing at all, that'd be amazing. On offense I would lose about 400-500 out of 2,000 to just towers alone and on defense I would lose 200-300 from being shot in the back during the melee. I brought along some siege equipment once and only managed to bring a single tower to 95% damage before running out of ammunition.

I found towers and oil annoying even on large to ultra unit sizes, it feels like their arrows were disregarding armor/shieds and just insta killing men per shot. Nice idea voted up :)
