No worries. Thanks for being willing to share your mods with the rest of us!

Ah okay, so I think I have added some new files since this last updated. So I need to make new blank versions of them. Thanks for letting me know, I'll update sometime soon.

Thanks for the quick response. I still seem to get the civics and governments and not just the added Origins (which it originally did). It's not a huge deal, doesn't seem to impact anything else negatively.

Also, not sure it matters, but the "Required Items" in the mod seems to direct to the legacy version and not the current one.

It should work with any version. Are you seeing it not work in some specific way? If so I will update it.

Is there a way to transfer this patch to the current version of the GVP mod?
LittleRaskol  [author] 9 Sep, 2020 @ 7:22am
It would be, but it's not possible. Origins are basically fancy civics, and the way civics specify requirements, you can't do something like "has Merchant Guilds civic *or* has Corporate authority." Civic and authority prerequisites have the be defined in separate blocks for that purpose. Therefore, I need separate origins for the different requirements (this goes for "has Materialist ethos *or* Machine Intelligence authority" too).

Wouldn't it be better to merge tradeways and trade ways inc into one origin with either two requirements? The same goes for discover origin.

I'm not sure what you mean. Removing everything but origins is the expected and desired behavior of this patch. The point is that all the actual content - civics, governments, origins, etc - all reside in GVP alone. This mod just omits everything but origins. That way if people just want the origins, they just get the origins, and I only have to keep one mod updated regularly (because the patches just contain blank files).

If you're saying it's causing a problem like, it prevents you from using an origin listed or non-origin GVP content is appearing (civics, governments, empire name formats), can you describe the problems you're seeing?

This seems to not work well with the Governments paack, by removing some governments and Combinations aded by the other mod, Confusing.

Hello, can you describe what's meant by messing up? Is it showing internal game tokens (things like "lrsk_gov_var_whatever") or are the names just not what you want to see? If it's the latter case, that's because I forgot to include an override for code in GVP that deals with base game government names, but I have included it in the most recent version of the OVP. However, you may still need to subscribe to this patch separately if it's not working for you due to load order jank: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1591858476

So, this messes up the naming scheme of star empires for me if I use it with the main mod, as seen here. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2034329721

If I remove this mod, the names return to normal on a new game. I don't know why that happens, but figured I'd let you know.

Still be fun to wage war with to skives that have to do as you say :P

Yes, they're special vassal types with more autonomy than usual (including expansion) but also provide useful resources to the overlord. On the other hand, they do have some limits put on their expansion to prevent them from choking the player's expansion entirely.
Realhollow 23 Mar, 2020 @ 5:26am
It will allow them to expand otherwise they will do nothing and be useless

I do have a few concepts involving vassals although I'm not totally sure Feudal Society would be all that much more useful than any other civic for them tbh.
Realhollow 22 Mar, 2020 @ 6:33pm
You thought about one were its 1 overlord and to vassals to make use of the Fudal lords trait
Peter34 21 Mar, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Sounds fun!
