Looking into it that issue is because the paddy and water bed are both floor types. The soil in this mod acts like a carpet, allowing it to be layered over terrain rather than replacing. So it doesn't support other terrains being built over it.
I've encountered one conflict: I can't create a paddy or water bed from the Biosphere mod for water plants. The soil SAYS it's Diggable but the floor type Paddy and Water Bed from Biosphere give the error “requires terrain that supports diggable.” Any idea why?
I can post my mod list if necessary. Yes, it’s ridiculous. I only enable one or two at a time, then test stability…but it’s still a pretty long list.
I'm not sure how to embed images, but here's my Gravship. It's a Manta Ray shape with eight "swiss cheese" spaces that are outdoors but inside the walls. The "meditation park" is in one of the "outdoor" spaces.

I took a look at things and there's two ways to blacklist terrain. However they both work the same, if you blacklist it then you can't plant the tree on it.
Try moving the mod further down in your modlist. If that doesn't work you might want to try resubscribing, verifying your game files or simply grabbing a copy of the mod from the included github link because there's likely something wrong.
The patches themselves that make it so you can place the workbench look for terrain fertility so unless something else is interfering there shouldn't be any problems even for modded terrains.
Ah so that's what you meant. I personally haven't encountered that since I haven't really dabbled with animals like that.
While i'm a bit on the fence about it its inclusion. I'm not seeing anything in the actual files signifying if they can or can't forage on terrain. It's either code based or its probably looking at the "natural" tag. I'd rather not go changing that tag because it could potentially cause issues. As for anything code based that's outside of my skillset. If it isn't already functional then I don't see me being able to add it even if I want to.
You'll have to elaborate what this Foraging is because there's no such thing in vanilla.
That fixed it. Thank you!
Alright it should be fixed now. That's been there a long time and nobody has reported it before. Its kind of confusing because Biosolids are in the Lite version files and there's a tag on the actual file segment itself DBLite = True. I think that tag might be backwards or something, either way confusing if you've never played with the Lite version and only went off the files like I did.

i am using dubs hygiene lite if that helps. It doesn't use biosolids
The Dubs Bad Hygiene patch uses LoadFolders so it should only be loaded when the mod is. If you post the error you're getting I'll look into it and fix it.
It works fine for me with my mod list and considering its using the vanilla drop down grouping system there shouldn't be an issue. If you aren't simply losing sight of it in the mass of floors then you might have a mod that's causing problems with the drop down grouping system.
I have hard edges enabled by default since its intended to be used in indoor areas like greenhouses and the blending makes it look quite ugly. However with XML Extensions there is a mod setting to change it to soft edges so it blends together with other terrains.
I just noticed that extracting soil is a Crafting job but gives no Crafting XP, while hijacking my best crafters, so I guess I'll stop using it for now and revisit later. (luckily, building the soil tiles properly gives XP)
They undoubtedly would if I could code, alas that is not the case.
Done, I had to add a new recipe because something tells me 100 Biopacks for 100 Fertilizer probably isn't the right ratio.
As per the description the soil floors are layered so they function much like any other flooring and don't replace the terrain. The lawn and grass floors from VE function in the same manner so they are incompatible. If your intention is to lay down soil then go over it with another flooring like the lawn or grass you'll need a terraforming mod instead that allows you to replace the existing terrain permanently.
Alright it's added to the mod settings.
The soil doesn't spawn naturally and it should be used for farms or greenhouses where you'll typically have the soil next to a path or wall. Where are you placing it that you'd actually need soft edges?
It seems like you got the answer. Personally I don't understand half of that word salad I just look for the keywords and that helps point you in the general direction.
That's something they'd have to fix. The soil gathering spots are practically just duplicates of the crafting spot and they have no material cost. I'm not sure why mine would have issues if the vanilla ones don't.
I honestly have no idea as I've never heard of or encountered that issue. Something do with UI or tab organisation would be my best guess.
Steam is pretty flaky about doing updates when it comes to mods. To ensure you have things up to date you should unsubscribe and resubscribe to updated mods. Alternatively verifying the game files should force it to update everything.
