[Deprecated] DLC Armor Temperature Resistance Correction

@Aen Kenji, Plate armour is pretty notorious for being really hot in summer and really cold in winter, as it has the worst of both worlds. The padding underneath helps in the winter, but the armour acts like a heatsink and draws any body heat warming the padding away. Speaking from personal experience, I used to do medieval reenactment, and we had to wear modern thermal undergarments to counter this as much as possible, even with all the fighting. :D

Any chance on making Poitain armor cold resistant. I am not big on lore but I think the lands that the armor comes from seems to that of western Europe or parts of France. The armor is covered with heavy plating and some sort of thick cloth that covers the entire body. By its looks it should keep you warm but instead it causes you to get colder than being naked in the snow.

Thanks for the heads up! I missed that one in the list. It should be added correctly now.

I've noticed a small issue. The Bear Shaman Flawless Chest Piece is showing as heat resist still. The non flawless regular version of the Bear Shaman chest piece is showing as cold as per the update notes. All other pieces of flawless bear shaman are showing as cold, it only seems to be the flawless chest that is not showing correctly.

Thanks for the fix! It's working great now. :) Might it be possible to do different resistance for each piece of a set? so that it balances out more-or-less? Something I find silly about the game is that having too much of a resistance in a more temperature-neutral zone can make you cold or hot. Perhaps the Yamatai armor could have a balanced resistance with a 2/3 split of cold/heat resistant pieces, or vice versa. Dunno if it's possible to set it for each piece of it is set-wide. Just a thought.

Awesome, good to know I was able to fix it, thank you! And I'll put the Guardian armor on my to-do list for this weekend. I'm also torn on the Yamatai armor. With it being modeled after more Japanese style of armors I feel like it should almost have no specific resistance, especially with how they showcased it in the jungle area of the map, it seems like it shouldn't be worn in the desert or in the snow. The Bear Shaman armor is about on par with the Pict armor for fur and it does have bear in the name, so I could see that one being cold resist. And it would bring some balance back since most of the changes have been from cold to heat protection.

Also just checked and can confirm that Turan and PIct armors are showing correctly since your update, Turan = heat and Pict = Cold

No Problem JaykoTorr! I really appreciate your mod, the Turanian fix has been a long time and coming and I'm very happy with your change choices.

Since you're doing DLC armors now, I second what PREWE!!! said about the Guardian Armor, it's crazy that it's cold protection, the screen door on my patio has better insulation :-P

Most the changes have been changing Cold to Heat protection, one that might be a good change from heat to cold would possibly be the Bear Shaman Armor, it's got full on pants and fur on it looks like it would be insulated nicely.

The Yamatai armor I could see going either way.

thanks for mod!
suggestion for change:
guardian armor to heat (how this skimpy armor can protect from cold?!)
yamatai to cold (looks too heavy to worn in deserts)
*sorry for my bad english

Okay, I did make some time to check tonight, and it looked like all the data table changes were correct, but I might not have had it linked correctly in the mod controller. I'm not sure, so I changed the names of the files in case it was that and updated the mod controller and uploaded a new build. Hopefully that will fix things. Sorry for all the trouble I'm causing with this.

Shoot, I'm sorry Necropolitan13. If there was a way to warn people, I suppose I should have tried. I split it off so people could have a choice if they wanted the DLC armor changed or not, instead of packing all the changes into one mod. If it was a good idea, who knows. And thank you both for letting me know. I don't have time currently, but I'll check tomorrow to see if I changed the data tables correctly and push out an update.

I realize now that I mentioned the Pict armor is working since it shows as "heat protection" but then I remember that it's suppose to be cold protection now. So it seems like the DLC armors mo isn't working correctly.

Also yeah, as the other person mentioned, this doesn't seem to be working. I've tried it loaded before and after the original temp reversal mod and either way, the DLC armors have their vanilla temp resistance :(
Necropolitan13 16 Feb, 2020 @ 6:37pm
Is there a reason you split these out of the original mod? I was at the far northern border when i last logged off, came in again after the you took the pictish armor off the original (which is what i was wearing to keep me warm), and i had died before i was even loaded and respawned at my bedroll at the crevice :( kind of frustrating to have suddenly lost that without warning. Guess you couldn't have warned people other than just posting a comment on the other mod that most wouldn't ever see anyway. I'm just wondering why the change.

Sweet! Just updated my groups server with this in addition to the original mod. However the Turanian armors are still showing as cold resist. The Pict armor is showing as hot, however I'm not sure if that's because of this new DLC armors mod or if it's because of the original mod, since the Pict armor was switched to hot in it and was working that way.
