Strange that the first map of the series is so hard (at least for me). That being said I've played it a few times on novice and having a hard time getting through it. The stone workshop is so far away! Also, if you start on any difficulty other than hard, don't save and come back; when you reload it will be at max difficulty. Overall, very good, good story, good mechanics, just needs a little bit more tweaking and play testing. Hope to see you come back to creating maps :)

so badly designed that im putting the game on another years-long hiatus.

Your idea of a hard map is a blank room with a spotless tiled floor and all you have to do is walk from one end to the other, BUT WAIT, 95% of the tiles on the floor are death drops that give way to underground spikes! This is mindlessly simple and free of any skill or difficulty to someone who knows.

86 days for hard? scarce resources? 33 days is all I needed after trying blind once (fyi, thats 2 tries) and I literally quit the map in disgust. Turns out that bee-lining for hidden freebies and abandoned buildings to sell gives thousands of resources.

And as far as adding rpg progression?

You made a choose-your-own-adventure with just one "right" adventure, somehow oblivious to the extreme likelihood that people are kind of expecting multiple adventures, not "wrong" outcomes.

this really is the expansion to the main campaign; congrats on nailing the disappointment of the original.

This is a good introduction to the whole custom campaign. I already played a few states and i'm loving it. I wish the actual campaign was something closer to what we have here, with specific objectives and a story that evolves through the actual map instead of simply in between.
I initially felt overwhelmed by the political systems, but it got better as I kept playing. Still lost my dear Ava to an unlucky 5% lol.

I heavility recommend those customs scenarios for some good times, they are amongst the best I played !

I'll echo what others have said: really a great map with excellent new mechanics. Very enjoyable...but too damn hard. After probably 10 tries, the best I can do is clearing two of the objective cities and taking out a couple giants. Then, I just run out of time and can't hold off the horde and the giants that attack on day 86. My request would be to give some options on setting a longer time before the final wave attacks.

Politicians are an interesting addition to mayors. I also like how you tried to implement your own train system similar to the train system in the official campaign. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi, I went through all the released levels on novice and they were so cool that I decided to try to pass them a second time at a higher difficulty level. I noticed one bug: When u buy 2 new tracks for convoy, resorces required to pay are proper, but when u paying, only 100 gold is taken instead of 1000

Hi and thank you for your comment. You can play the medium difficulty without spawning all the units given to you :)
But to be honest, I'm spending already around 80 to 150 hours to each map, and adding a new level of difficulty will take me too much time for one map. I will try to lower the second level of difficulty a bit on next maps (from State 7 as I'm finishing State 7).

I'm glad you didn't give up and finally achieve to beat the first map! Good job! I did add a small tutorial where a politician explains you how the convoys are working. :)

Ok, here after starting over and over again on 780% difficulty, I finally managed to crack the code, on how to handle this map.

Thanks a ton for a well designet map, which is very exiting to handle, and frustrating, just like TAB should be. :)

I got inspired by the example of other better players on the video following.

One recommendation is to explain about Convoys in the beginning, maybe you do that, but i did not notice. I only discovered the Convoys then looked at other playing. And they are very helpfull in the game.

Anyway, thanks for this map, now on to next map. :)

The level for me was ok, it was just trying to find chock points the first part of the map is just so open well most of the map is. That is why it was so difficult for me. The lack of wood in the area was probably the biggest problem In the campaign I would go for large land grabs all the time, it is just you need a good starting base. I tried on medium a few times (5-6), dying after wave 3 or 4 then went to easy, which was a bit of a joke. I played so open I am surprised I didn't die. If you could put in another difficult setting in that would be great for us who, what you would not call hardcore.

I am unsure if its a bug or im missing something, but when i try to look for upgrade security in the custom options i cannot see it anywhere despite the tutorial for it. If you could double check it i will restart the map and check but, my current runthrough is totally screwed because at no point could i increase security for the politics mode

@Exedos, the first level gives extra bonus such as units and resources. Also the novice level doesn't have so much waves :)

Hello Karl, The map is ok dude. You cannot get convoys for a LOT OF DAYS until market at least on hard mode so it is kind of KILL ME PLEASE. But i respect your effort.

Thanks for your comment. The lack of resoures can be fixed with convoys which are delivering resources for free (after building them).

I built the map to force the player to be careful of its construction. It's clearly not a regular chinese map where you can snowball hard in 5 days.

It's saddened me you did not enjoy that much the map, and I am looking forward to see your comment for the next map !

Just a PAINFUL map. If you like pain then this map is for you. There is practically no timber and you have to clear an area to get to your stone building and the waves come so often that you just do not get time to do anything. Its a good idea and an ok map but ITS PAINFUL AND NOT VERY FUN 6/10.

The automatic convoys update is now released, you can check the update in the update notes. It took me much less time than I expected, so now I can focus on state 2. I expect to release State 2 in the end of the next week :)

Hi guys ! I'm currently working on an update for the convoys. I couldn't believe players could abuse so much of the convoys, due to their (too low) prices and also because you could stack them very fast. My objective with the convoys was to help you grow a bit quicker, not snowballing hard like I could see. Also, their loading capacity might be a bit too much so I have decided to reduce it. I'm currently balancing the number.

On the other hand, I'm working on an automatic departure of the convoys, where you will have a range of 6 hours where you are able to change the resources you want to import. This optimization is to give more fluent gameplay without having to set every day a new importation of goods. When this update will be released, it will also be applied on the rest of the campaign.

Due to this optimization, state 2 might be released between 25th & 31st of January. (Map layout almost finished with state events finished by 50%).
