Description
Quintus Crane : The Following is a fan made sequel of the official campaign made by Numantian. Finishing the official one is not essential as you are starting the campaign on a new continent: Ashguard.

The Ashguard continent was a haven of peace and is the newest continent on the planet. In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, this small continent was born of a gigantic volcanic eruption that upset the ocean currents during the global warming of the years 1900-2000. Ashguard was discovered by a team of explorers. Here lived people from all over the world. Conquered by new riches to explore and exploit, in less than 100 years, Man has occupied the whole island and brought the fauna and flora of many countries, as well as the construction of many infrastructures. The island was subject to several epidemics due to the incompatibility of some species, before finally having a stable environment.

Some times later, Ashguard was recognized as the best place to live on Earth for its cultural blend and unprecedented biodiversity, before sinking into chaos, with the infection that quickly spread.
Estimated population before infection: 110 million inhabitants.

After defeating the last infected stronghold, you have been covered in glory by the citizen of the New Empire and by Quintus Crane himself. After a few years, Quintus Crane is already planning to reconquer new lands and ordered you to cross the ocean in the east.
But a part of the population disagrees this decision and deep tensions appeared inside the New Empire. A group, called the Humanity Defenders, rapidly grew and forced Quintus Crane to create a government with two distinct parties :

- The Humanity Defenders, which is for the strengthening of border security. To do this, they increase your resource productivity and carry out propaganda campaigns to create a baby boom and increase the population quickly. Their will is centered on the construction of large defensive walls and turrets in order to avoid any overflow or intrusion of zombies within the colonies. However, military training will remain at your expense and the units enrolled will cost you more in up keep.

- The Will of Quintus, on the other hand, is based on military enlistment and the conquest of new lands to the detriment of the economy. For this party, only the expansion of the New Empire and the extermination of zombies are important. In fact, the colony’s economy is reduced for the war effort and important military propaganda are made to enlist soldiers at an early age.

You will have to manage your own politics by interacting with random events where yourself, politicians and even colonists will force you to make choices. Your political management can be carried over maps with a starting setup at the beginning of each map.
Also, Quintus Crane wants you to find clues about the recent appearance of the Mutants, and find if possible, the responsible of these mutations. Nobody knows what Quintus Crane has in mind, even you.

Quintus Crane : The Following campaign is divided in 12 missions, called “State”. Each map will be released 2 weeks after the previous map. It’s only an ETA and, as I’m taking my free time to work on this campaign, it could be earlier/later, as real personal life is more important.

Strange that the first map of the series is so hard (at least for me). That being said I've played it a few times on novice and having a hard time getting through it. The stone workshop is so far away! Also, if you start on any difficulty other than hard, don't save and come back; when you reload it will be at max difficulty. Overall, very good, good story, good mechanics, just needs a little bit more tweaking and play testing. Hope to see you come back to creating maps :)

so badly designed that im putting the game on another years-long hiatus.

Your idea of a hard map is a blank room with a spotless tiled floor and all you have to do is walk from one end to the other, BUT WAIT, 95% of the tiles on the floor are death drops that give way to underground spikes! This is mindlessly simple and free of any skill or difficulty to someone who knows.

86 days for hard? scarce resources? 33 days is all I needed after trying blind once (fyi, thats 2 tries) and I literally quit the map in disgust. Turns out that bee-lining for hidden freebies and abandoned buildings to sell gives thousands of resources.

And as far as adding rpg progression?

You made a choose-your-own-adventure with just one "right" adventure, somehow oblivious to the extreme likelihood that people are kind of expecting multiple adventures, not "wrong" outcomes.

this really is the expansion to the main campaign; congrats on nailing the disappointment of the original.

This is a good introduction to the whole custom campaign. I already played a few states and i'm loving it. I wish the actual campaign was something closer to what we have here, with specific objectives and a story that evolves through the actual map instead of simply in between.
I initially felt overwhelmed by the political systems, but it got better as I kept playing. Still lost my dear Ava to an unlucky 5% lol.

I heavility recommend those customs scenarios for some good times, they are amongst the best I played !

I'll echo what others have said: really a great map with excellent new mechanics. Very enjoyable...but too damn hard. After probably 10 tries, the best I can do is clearing two of the objective cities and taking out a couple giants. Then, I just run out of time and can't hold off the horde and the giants that attack on day 86. My request would be to give some options on setting a longer time before the final wave attacks.

Thanks for this sequel, the effort is appreciated. It's just too hard, unfortunately.

Politicians are an interesting addition to mayors. I also like how you tried to implement your own train system similar to the train system in the official campaign. Keep up the good work!!!
