It might still function but you are better off not trying it. I havent got the time anymore to update my mods unfortunately, but they are up for grabs if anyone wants to continue them or make their own versions, anyone is allowed to do anything with any part of any mod I made.
Now the attrition will show up at the start of a turn but be dispelled the second the player chooses any character, either his own or an AI's. Unfortunately I havent found a way to make it go away automatically on turn start because of how the game handles triggers, but this should fix 99% of the problem. So graphicallly it will show as if the character is standing on attrition but it will only show up as a thing until any character is selected.
The only way to give them main religion vampire to them would be to edit startpos. If you look more closely, you should see that vampire corruption gives them a minus to public order but its offset big a bigger plus to it given to them by a custom effect I made in order to offset it, which is always bigger than the minus, meaning vampire corruption effectively ends up being positive to them. Its the only way to fix it without making the mod incompatible with many other things. You can see one such example: https://i.imgur.com/VmzQ0SU.jpg
