Oh... then I'll try without the other mods
Eternantium  [author] 13 Oct, 2020 @ 8:20am
@yvictor20 ah that's the problem. You can't use more than one mod that edits the same txt file at once. Essentially the game does not separate the game files for titles by region, they are all in the same file. If two mods change the same file, then one will be cancelled out. Just how the game works.

My advice would be to not play this mod with any other mod that changes landed_titles.txt or to customize your other mods to feature Northumberland from mine.
yvictor20 13 Oct, 2020 @ 1:01am
I am using other Kingdom mods, but none that affect the same region. That's the only problem I had with the mod.
Eternantium  [author] 12 Oct, 2020 @ 6:12pm
@yvictor20 Dang it doesn't? Did they update the map and titles again since when I posted this? Or were you trying to play with other mods on? Or is there some type of issue? I might be able to make a quick fix.
yvictor20 30 Sep, 2020 @ 6:30am
Bummer... this doesn't work anymore
Eternantium  [author] 10 Dec, 2019 @ 3:58pm
@Wayne702 Nice! Glad you could get it working! I'm still a relative novice at modding in general, haha.
Vederan1 9 Dec, 2019 @ 5:58pm
@Eternantium Hey, I got them working. I tried merging the files but it would cause ARR to just stop working. All I had to do is to add the line dependencies = { “Ancient Religions Reborn” }’ to ‘northumberlanddejure.mod.mod.mod’
Eternantium  [author] 7 Dec, 2019 @ 9:48pm
@Wayne702 Hm, well I'll consider making a version. But a DIY version would be to take the titles file from Ancient Religions reborn and adding all the custom titles to this mod's file so that you can use them together.
Vederan1 4 Dec, 2019 @ 5:41pm
Is there a way to make this compatible with Ancient Religions Reborn?
Eternantium  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 4:18am
Alright, I updated it.
The culture in the file is now Saxon, and the Viking Invasion is now fixed so it should no longer auto-cancel.
The Sneering Imperialist 7 Sep, 2019 @ 9:51am
as someone from northumberland i think its a great mod

@Hakali The King of the North(umbrians)
Eternantium  [author] 4 Sep, 2019 @ 3:45am
@Hakali
Haha, actually that's a picture of Aella of Northumbria from History Channel's Vikings.
Eternantium  [author] 4 Sep, 2019 @ 3:43am
I'll definitely make all of these changes, or at least try to, in the next update.
MarriedComfortLabia 3 Sep, 2019 @ 12:57pm
@ChrisKohurt, speaking from a Durhamer/Northumbrian (Born and lived 6 years in Durham, 14 years Northumberland) we still have alot of Anglo-saxon words and names while we also have it mixed with Norse words.

Cowpen is an area of my town (Blyth) but it is pronounced Cupen like Anglo-Saxon. Cambois (a small village near me) is pronounced camiss. A child is a Bairn (comes from Norse word for child). I agree it would be best to leave it as Anglo-Saxon
Keter 3 Sep, 2019 @ 10:45am
Northumbria was ruled by Robert Baratheon?
Jacon 2 Sep, 2019 @ 9:00pm
@VoodooFan no, i mean't like this without the need for custom kingdom
Sober Mans Secret 2 Sep, 2019 @ 4:31pm
Really looking forward to giving this a go.... A return to my homeland. :Hire:
VoodooFan 2 Sep, 2019 @ 12:14am
@Jacon it is, with Charlemagne custom kingdom.
Jacon 1 Sep, 2019 @ 4:13pm
This should have been in base game

The perfect Kingdom.
VoodooFan 1 Sep, 2019 @ 6:06am
@мυηт are you sure? I experienced that Anglo-Saxon provinces are even converted to English if the top ruler is a Norman.
munt 1 Sep, 2019 @ 4:42am
You need to be norman ruling anglo saxon to make english, so just avoid being norman :)
Eternantium  [author] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 12:16am
Hm, I don't know if I could do that, more so because of the way the culture of English rises. What I mean is I don't think that it would actually stop English from rising. I think the way to do that would be to just craft an independent Anglo-Saxon kingdom before English spreads to it. But then again I might not fully understand how the event works.
ChrisTheFool 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:37pm
If possible, you should consider making the primary culture Anglo-Saxon. So like the culture doesn't shift over to English with time and remains Anglo-Saxon. Ever since I saw this occur in one of my playthroughs naturally, I always liked the idea of an Anglo-Saxon Northumbria vs a Norman/English England.

NORTHERNER GANG RISE UP
ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ 31 Aug, 2019 @ 5:42pm
@Calmaria i think most of the duchies in the area already have a special welsh name, exept for northumberland and deira
Eternantium  [author] 31 Aug, 2019 @ 2:00pm
Those are excellent ideas.

Interestingly enough, they actually have Strathclyde share it's history with the Brigantes tribe from antiquity, not sure how accurate that actually is.
MarriedComfortLabia 31 Aug, 2019 @ 9:22am
I would says Cymbria maybe a better name for if the kingdom was welsh. Only problem is that Cumbria is in the west while there were other Brythonic kingdoms in the north apart from Brynaich, Deifr, Rheged and Elmet. Perhaps the way to solve it is what an earlier comment suggested with Hen Ogledd

And to remedy the multiple kingdoms would be to rename each duchy to their corresponding Briton name.
ɌƗȻꝀŦɆɌ 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:54am
does it also have a name if the holder is welsh or other celtic culture? it would be dope to have a nice "Cumbria"/"Cymbria" or a kingdom tier Strathclyde specially with that sweet pale green
Eternantium  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 4:24pm
For right now it's Danish name is "Danelaw" and Norse/Norwegian name is "Jorvik". Until I figure out a better system for it.

It's Welsh name is "Brygantia", the other Celts call it "Brigantia".
Juke™ 29 Aug, 2019 @ 11:19am
Does it have a norse/norwegian Name? (like jorvik)
Eternantium  [author] 28 Aug, 2019 @ 8:47am
Will do
I'll update this soon, I have the update for this mod ready, where I make sure the Vikings are targetting "k_northumberland" instead of "k_england", which was an oversight on my part. Today's busy for me though. After that oversight is fixed I'll get on that other mod of which you speak. Honestly making new de jure titles is fun.
Benseth 26 Aug, 2019 @ 5:38pm
A temporary solution would be to use the symbols of one of the duchies for each kingdom. For example use the symbol of the duchy of Nidaros for the kingdom of Trøndelag etc.
Eternantium  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 5:21pm
That's a good idea!
Will definitely consider it.
To be honest, I've been thinking of changing up the Kingdom of Africa some myself, since it's a little a-historical for the duchies to be so in-land, I'm thinking of at least making one or two duchies that are compromised of the coastal counties, and one or two south of them that are the in-land ones.

Will definitely need flags/coat of arms for these titles though, since I figure not all of them are gonna have available free-to-use ones like Northumberland does (I literally just pulled the EU4 flag for this mod....xD)
Benseth 26 Aug, 2019 @ 5:12pm
Yeah, I saw that was a problem. What about a huge mod with lots of new kingdoms, that way you can get it all in one file? Kingdoms of Northumberland, Gotaland, Trøndelag, kingdom of Iceland (add duchy Vestisland and duchy Austisland with two counties each), kingdom of the Isles (Orkney, Sudreyjar and Mann), sultanate/kingdom of Algeria (Tlemcen, Alger, Tahert and Mzab), kingdom of Somalia (Afar and Berbera) + empire of Finland (kingdoms Finland, Lappland and Estonia) and Empire of Caucasus (kingdoms Alania, Georgia and Armenia)? It is more work, but it would be an actual big mod, with lots of new titles to play around with.
Eternantium  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 4:09pm
Alright!
I might make a separate mod version and a combined version, unless there is a way to make it so that the two files don't overlap
Benseth 26 Aug, 2019 @ 1:23pm
Actually I would like them present in the whole period, but if you could make it so the AI kings of Norway and Sweden does not form the titles, like in this mod for the kings of England, that would be great.
Eternantium  [author] 26 Aug, 2019 @ 9:37am
That's an interesting idea! Would probably work for the earlier start dates, I can make that a separate mod for you in a bit! Would you like them existing for the whole duration of the game, or being 769-867-963 only so that when Sweden and Norway and the like do historically exist they aren't present anymore?
Benseth 25 Aug, 2019 @ 9:20pm
I love the mod. Actually I have a request to make, I have long wanted a mod that made two new de jure kingdoms in Scandinavia. One called Kingdom of Trøndelag and containing the duchies of Nidaros and Jamtland. And another called Kingdom of Gotaland containing Vastergotland, Ostergotland, Varend, Småland and Gotland.
Eternantium  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 8:43pm
Oops. I overlooked that.
They were likely targetting the Kingdom of England, which doesn't have those counties as de jure anymore.
I'll go in and make sure they're targetting Northumberland.
That also might mess up William's war in 1066. Might. I'm not entirely sure.
Benseth 25 Aug, 2019 @ 8:35pm
Hmm, the mod messes up the 867 bookmark for me. When I play as Jorvik it cancels the war against Northumbria for both me and Sudreyjar.
Eternantium  [author] 25 Aug, 2019 @ 8:15pm
Ooh, would Hen Ogledd be more accurate? Currently I just have it as "Brygantia", with Scots and Irish using "Brigantia"

Funny thing, "Danelaw" is actually what it's called if Danes rule over it, but I have it as "Jorvik" when it's plain old Norse. Might change it though, if you think that would be more accurate.
Benseth 25 Aug, 2019 @ 7:29pm
And maybe have it called Kingdom of Danelaw if Norse (I know the Danelaw also were further south, but this way you can have both the Kingdom of the Danelaw and the Kingdom of England at the same time).
Benseth 25 Aug, 2019 @ 6:43pm
Have you considered having this kingdom called Hen Ogledd if it is ruled by Welsh?
