Why did you stop updating this map?
Erudain 29 Aug, 2020 @ 12:30pm
Hey man, great work, just want to point some civs that either start at wrong TSL or the TSL is right but the starting city is not.
- Brazil starts in the middle of the Amazonas, around where Manaus is IRL, it should start by the coast.
- Japan starts where Tokyo is IRL which is ok, but the AI will found Kyoto.
- China starts where Beijing is IRL which is ok, but the AI will found Xian.

Will this mod be updated for New Frontier Pass Civs?
Cuso 31 May, 2020 @ 1:15am
Hi! Could you update this mod to add the new wonders and civs?
General Dexter 24 May, 2020 @ 3:25pm
Hi. It's a great Map. Just 2 things: I found no geothermal fissures and in my opinion it needs more fishes, specialy for small Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Unter_Null 22 May, 2020 @ 5:04am
game crashes every time. I play 20 civs and no city-states. Map is amazing an very fun to play, but around modern age it starts to crash and cant progress past the crash.

Hi! I just found this mod after looking everywhere for a good earth tsl map, and here it is! Now I don't know which version to use!

I like to play with mods (civs, city states and natural wonders). I'm trying to have TSL for them as well, and I'm editing the Map.xml with the coordinates. I'd like to know which wonder did you remove from Georgia and if you'd like me to give you the file once I'm done for you to update the mod? Also, do you have any idea how I could divide Italy and Sicily?
mavrick501 31 Dec, 2019 @ 1:35pm
Very disappointed no Grand Canyon. The map does work good on it's largest scale on my system!! Good Job!! :steamhappy:
Slammin 21 Dec, 2019 @ 6:09am
Is there currently anyway to add river flooding on maps using the YnAMP converter
Exorcius 16 Dec, 2019 @ 1:11pm
Where is gondwana continent on this map?
虎平阳 9 Nov, 2019 @ 10:39am
I am sorry that I found I can't build dam on rivers. Is that a bug?
虎平阳 4 Nov, 2019 @ 4:21am
Great map! Pity it doesn't have real location city names. Hope you can make it possible one day.
Squiggles 19 Oct, 2019 @ 3:43am
@Sammaye That is understandable, I don't expect anyone to be obligated to perform the amount of work that it requires to accomplish it. Hopefully one day you have the opportunity :)
Sammaye  [author] 18 Oct, 2019 @ 4:06pm
@squiggles sorry 3000 not 300
Sammaye  [author] 18 Oct, 2019 @ 4:05pm
@squiggles I have thought about doing this but it is a lot of work, it can be anything upto 300 city names that need converting over from the Giant Earth map, if I get the chance I will migrate it over but yeah, if being the operative word there
Sammaye  [author] 18 Oct, 2019 @ 4:03pm
@gilgamesch I have not tested it on America, but in Egypt I used to get storms, hmm
Gilgamesch 18 Oct, 2019 @ 10:00am
is the weather system broken? I get no Tornados or Hurrikans or Desert Storms as US... on the complete continent of north and south america... no weather turbulences, only vulcanos erruptions
Squiggles 16 Oct, 2019 @ 11:24pm
Hey, if you can add automatic changing city names, this could be a fantastic mod since I has the best shaped earth within the stable size after the new expansion. I can't code in lua and can't help with making it, but the project was put online as a guide, maybe this can help you out.

https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ynamp-sub-project-true-location-corresponding-city-names.605960/

Thanks for the work you do :)

@n.a.autero have you install YnAMP (Yet not Another Maps Pack)?
n.a.autero 18 Sep, 2019 @ 6:55am
Does anybody know why i cant enable this mod? It says cannot enable due to Yet not another map pack.
Eclipse 14 Sep, 2019 @ 8:11am
Ah, I just assumed it was implemented, but not working, because there's the box to tick for it in the Game Setup. That explains it. ;)
TY for your fast answer!
Sammaye  [author] 14 Sep, 2019 @ 7:20am
@chris'_ it isn't a buig, I've simply not put it in, I looked at Giant Earth edition of it and.... oh crap basically, they have like 3000 or perfectly placed cities with locale names to do this and I kind of died a little inside when I saw it, I might one day do it but right now I really don't have the capacity. But I think you can easily add alias names, like changing one name to another but I haven't done that either tbh, it is all contained in Giant Earth if someone wants to convert it
Eclipse 14 Sep, 2019 @ 6:58am
First of all, I love this map to death. Playing Civ again after a few months break because of it.

But one question: Real City Naming doesn't seem to work for me. Is this a known bug, or was it never supposed to be enabled? Or might it be a conflict/something else I can fix?

Thank you!

@Darth_Wolf you must also remember that the Roman Empire, with sea, can just about fit into the US, so the US should roughly be the size of the Roman Empire
Sammaye  [author] 4 Sep, 2019 @ 8:25am
@Darth_Wolf dunno, seems quite proportionate to me, I mean if you were to make the US its true shape then it wouldn't fit a decent number of cities, so I guess Makc just made it proportionate the rest of the map
Boomer Shooter 4 Sep, 2019 @ 5:19am
Isn't the US too large on this map?
Sammaye  [author] 2 Sep, 2019 @ 3:27pm
@Comrade_Stalin yes, it has YnAMP's TSL (True Start Locations) enabled by default
Confused_Engineer 2 Sep, 2019 @ 1:48pm
does this map have true start locations on it? looks awesome too
Sammaye  [author] 2 Sep, 2019 @ 11:15am
@Commander_Gayson One thing you can do is load the map up in WorldBuilder and then cross reference the start locations in the mod's Map/map.xml, that way you can actually check to see if there is something else outside of the map doing this, have you got any weird mods installed which effect civ properties?
Beef_Wellington 2 Sep, 2019 @ 7:50am
@sammaye That's weird. the Cree started in Europe and England doesn't start on their island either.
Jauqee 1 Sep, 2019 @ 9:32pm
I am highly impressed with this map and the customization options. Very well designed and very fun. I am looking forward to using this with some friends.
Sammaye  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 6:27am
@Rocketman sorry, just seen this, hmm, I have never encountered this error before, it seems to relate directly to your GPU. It seems one guy mentioned that sometimes GPU updates can cause GPUs to get strange settings that break games, try setting different GFX levels within Civ6 and see if that helps
Sammaye  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 6:26am
@commander_Gayson sorry, only just seen this, hmm, that's definitely a strange one that I cannot replicate, I've just started a new game as Saladin and it works just fine for me, he starts on the ancient Arabian Peninsula
Beef_Wellington 29 Aug, 2019 @ 10:05am
Some civs aren't starting in their true start locations. I've notices on map builder there are start positions for Leaders (ie. Saladin starts on the Nile river)
Rocketmän 28 Aug, 2019 @ 12:19pm
Hi Sammaye!

I have used you'r map, and I have no idea how you managed to put so much in relatively small map. It's great!

I have however one problem. When I launch the map, it often crashes and says: " civ display device has failed on game launch" Do you know which mod could maybe cause this? I'm using YNAMP, smoother difficulty, one AI mod, prismatic color jersey and tactical camera.
Sammaye  [author] 21 Aug, 2019 @ 2:01am
@jauqee yes, you can actually remove TSL, so if you look on the map settings when you go to make a new game you will see some TSL settings (True Start Location) and if you switch these settings off you can remove YnAMP's ability to set start locations based on what I coded and instead use the map generator for cultural start locations or just random for fun
Jauqee 20 Aug, 2019 @ 4:54pm
Is there a way to have random civs in all the start locations?

I can't find the mod <3
Milamber 16 Aug, 2019 @ 9:08am
Ok cool I tried different seeds and found one that looks ok. It was de-syncing with one other human on multiplayer but I think its cause we tried 24 civs and quite a few mods.
Sammaye  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 2:49pm
@Milamber Yes, I am trying to figure out how to do it with the pre-placed floodplains but so far no luck I'm afraid. do note - as said in the description - it can result in some desert parts being unworkable
Milamber 15 Aug, 2019 @ 11:26am
Hey really like your map but want to turn on river flooding, so wanted to just confirm - if I switch to features map generated then this should switch flooding on?
Sammaye  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 10:55am
@MarshmallowBear though looking it more I am sure Giant Earth has flooding working from WorldlBuilder floodplains so I am really not sure about how to solve that, I cannot see anything in the code that would tell me the problem and Gedemon isn't responsive atm
Sammaye  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 1:21pm
@MarshmallowBear Ok it all makes sense now, as you said earlier it simply doesn't work with WorldBuilder... I really hope they fix that soon, but if you switch to map generator for features it will show rainfall and I have checked the map and it looks quite good, except that parts of desert are now completely unusable which really destroys the game in places, also note that it places its own forests as well, which makes other parts of the map look totally stupid.

So this map actually works fine, it just doesn't work fine if you want it to look the way it is supposed to.

I just took another look at the the Giant Earth map that comes with YnAMP and even using the map generator I noticed only a single flood tile haha.

I think with this you have a choice, you either keep the map as it looks in real life and hope Firaxis fixes it or change the map and get flooding.
Sammaye  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 11:22am
@MarshmallowBear I've just noticed, the other maps have map options for rivers flooding, I wonder if for some reason it is just turned off, I will look into this more
Sammaye  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 7:45am
@MarshmallowBear I am noticing one thing though, looking closer there are a lot of double flows to the rivers, especially on junctions whereby it seems to want to take the river both north and south, can you check this with your own map, that exact tile I posted infact which is showing both north and south flows for me
Sammaye  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 7:32am
@MarshmallowBear I found it in the code but I do see that flows are filled like for Egypt:

MapToConvert[71][41]={"TERRAIN_PLAINS","FEATURE_FLOODPLAINS","CONTINENT_AFRICA",{{1,5},{1,3},{1,4}},{"RESOURCE_WHEAT",1},{0,0,0}}

showing the junction in the Nile Delta

Sammaye  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 7:11am
@marshmallowBear I'm quite a noob at this, where in the code should the extra river data be? If I can figure that out I can compare to Giant Earth and basically copy what's been done by Gedemon
MarshmallowBear 12 Aug, 2019 @ 6:28am
@Sammye that's how I did it the first time around, it worked, no I did not use the map converter in my version, and yes, I think I have. I don't fully understand the syntax of MapToConvert but I checked your desert floodplains tile and noticed that rivers doesnt seem to be defined in a way I expected them too. There are a lot of null values (-1) in places where I expect river data to be be present (flow direction mostly)
