At first, I didn’t know which mod in the modpack was causing the ship jumps to become as slow as a turtle. It wasn’t until I identified this specific mod that I realized it’s quite unfriendly for non-hardcore players and bounty hunter players who need to frequently travel between nearby star systems. (Because every jump now requires spin-up and spin-down time, even for very short distances...)

Also, it'd be cool if you could change the non-FTL travel noise to that of the Supercruising FSD
Hanabishi  [auteur] 1 aug 2023 om 23:20
Yeah, that's unfortunate. It was poor anyway. Maybe I will record a new one later.

Video is no longer available, so there's no more preview.
Bummer.

This is great, but I wish it worked with Longer Ship Travel Time
Kerik 19 feb 2022 om 12:13
ok
Hanabishi  [auteur] 19 feb 2022 om 10:36
Transition time adjusted to match with the sound.
Kerik 19 feb 2022 om 9:27
how is your ship so slow?
Kokorocodon 28 nov 2021 om 23:58
Nice update, mate. Really nice job.
Nevski 6 okt 2021 om 22:27
Nice mod CMDR, o7
Oscar_Faux 21 nov 2020 om 9:10
can you try maybe making one for the capitol ship jump?
Hanabishi  [auteur] 24 okt 2020 om 9:35
Kumi , I think yes. But not tested it in multiplayer so maybe there can be some issues with e.g. ship transition timings.
Kumi 23 okt 2020 om 19:13
Is this clientsided?
xXDefeatedLimeXx 25 jul 2020 om 11:39
i have no FTL speed or animation mods but the travel animation disappears, but the sound effect still remains.
Jek1466 7 jun 2020 om 13:31
Note for description:
It doesn't work with Subtler Hyperspace (your sound effect and his travel animation disappears, but his sound effect still remains).

Nightstalker , maybe some other mod involved?
Serval_NS 27 apr 2020 om 11:19
Thank you for nice mod! But for some reason I have the vanilla hyperspace_end sound instead of modded one... Any advice? Is there any chance to fix it?
LoneRFeeD 9 mrt 2020 om 16:08
Thank you Hanabishi
I'm a quite fan of Elite Dangerous
Hanabishi  [auteur] 9 mrt 2020 om 10:19
Here is an update! Try it out guys.
P. S. YouTube has lowered audio volume and quality. This sounds better ingame.
Kokorocodon 9 mrt 2020 om 6:13
That would be great! Sound is the most important part of immersion.
Hanabishi  [auteur] 9 mrt 2020 om 5:29
Actually I'm not fully satisfied the result 😅
This sounds was recorded in Sidewinder (when I've only started to play ED). Also this is supercruise sounds, not an actual jump. And also mod has some volume balance issues.
Maybe I should remake this mod, record an actual large ship sounds in hyperspace. And do some better mastering.

but does it drop you into the sun
Hanabishi  [auteur] 7 aug 2019 om 11:28
websurfer1111 , unfortunately I can't figure out how to fix this. Looks like there is some hardcoded behavior for "to planet" jump.
Hanabishi  [auteur] 6 aug 2019 om 0:39
Hmm, maybe there is a conflict with another mod. Or mod file just was corrupted during download.
Try to subscribe again, maybe problem won't appear again. But if it stll, maybe we can make some research.
Wakefield 5 aug 2019 om 14:31
and well I m not really gonna give you a log because I don t have any
Wakefield 5 aug 2019 om 14:30
I said the same exact thing, until I unistalled the mod, and now I can play the game just fine
Hanabishi  [auteur] 5 aug 2019 om 13:33
Some proofs could be useful. How we devs says: no log - no problem. So your starbound.log collected after crash can help.
Because I really don't think that such simple mod just as few replaced sounds can cause crashes.
Wakefield 4 aug 2019 om 15:24
erm ANYONE HERE, if your game start to crash for no reasons, consider un subscribing to this mod, cause well for the last 2 weeks my game was crashing for no reason cause of this mod.
websurfer1111 28 jul 2019 om 5:42
No problem.
I'm glad my video was helpfull!
Hanabishi  [auteur] 28 jul 2019 om 1:59
Yeah, looks like warp works pretty weird. I will check it more precisely.
But not right now, unfortunately I will access my PC only in two weeks.

I'm feeling a bit dumbfounded by the game right now, because it is now working for some reason...

Oh no wait, in this few jumps right now I was just jumping into the star-system.
It happens only when I choose also a planet or a station to travel too.
And it seems it actally doesn't ignore step 3 and 4.
It was just so fast that I didn't notice it.
I will make a Video.
Hanabishi  [auteur] 27 jul 2019 om 16:50
websurfer1111, jump animation time is fixed in the latest game versions, as I know. There is no correlation between jump range and warp time. So I can't reproduce your case. Maybe you're using different game version or some other mods affecting warp mechanic.
And yes, some recorded footage may be helpful.
websurfer1111 27 jul 2019 om 13:51
@Hanabishi

Part_2

Now if I choose a very short jump, like the width of 2 or less index-finger, on an HD-screen, between stars, the wind-up becomes so long,
that the jump on the Star-Map is almost or already over.
And so the game does the following, I think:
Step 1
Step 2 ("Frameshift-Drive charging. ... 4, 3, 2, 1, engage.")
Ignores Step 3, because we are already in the new system.
Ignores Step 4, because we are already in the new system.
Game doesn't konw where it is and confuses Step 6 with Step 5, if it had to go to a planet I alredy visited once, so it loads the Sub-Light-Background in stead.

Do you want a log-File or a Video to see what I see?
websurfer1111 27 jul 2019 om 13:51
@Hanabishi

Part_1

Very short jumps...
FTL-jumps seem to consist out of 5 (/ 6) Steps.
1) Leafing the current background.
2) Sub-Light-Speed.
3) Transition-Flash.
4) FTL-Jump with the FTL-background
5) Exiting FTL-Jump with an other Transition-Flash.
/ 6) Sub-Light-Speed to the choosen target location, and if needed load and enter planet
/ background with one more Transition-Flash.

As soon as the ship is moving away from the planet,
on the Star-Map the ship is already leafing behind the Star-system.
And what is going on on the Star-Map seems to be the actual case of the progress.
Hanabishi  [auteur] 27 jul 2019 om 2:54
websurfer1111, hmm, strange, I've already tuned the warp time to sync it with sound. Which case exactly causes desync? Or maybe another mod inflicts it.

Friendship drive charging!
websurfer1111 26 jul 2019 om 7:30
Hello!
Realy cool mod.
But the game has a bit of confusion going on when it is a (very) short jump.
I think... when the wind up for the Elite Dangerous Sound is... the jump itself is like over half way done already and than it just flashes up, without the moving FTL-background, and is in the new system.
Like with the Faster Than Faster Than Light Mod.
And sometimes it forgets to load the correct background, with the planets if I do direct travel.
Doesn't influence the gameplay itself, it is still posible to port down,
but it is the planet not to see. XD
I guess it needs a new minimum travel time, so that stuff has an opertunity to load in, now that the windup for the jump is so long in comparison to vanilla.
