after stumbling around with vaseline in my eyes (why did you do that to the camera) i saw gman with stone material tool and then i heard 2 howie screams that shit was hilarious

He does not work in multiplayer. He was never meant to be in multiplayer.

he just keeps teleporting back and forth in sandbox and has this console error:

This map is incredible, but the NPC spams the same script error no matter the context he shows up in

Seriously one of the scariest experiences I've had in Gmod. Extremely well done. It was also very entertaining and insightful watching your Youtube videos on the project!

@Saya Madness the gamemode was never intended to be a multiplayer experience. In fact, I've intentionally set it up to quit whenever the gamemode is initialized in a multiplayer server rather than singleplayer.

I took out the addons that added weapons and whatnot and added ones that were mostly graphics and QoL (quality of life), they don't interfere with the SNPC, DoF, or nodegraph. I don't know about the auxiliary power mod though; it doesn't mess with anything but it does make it harder as you have stamina and flashlight battery...

@Ghostex Delta 6 The only addons in that list that I'd recommend would be the superficial ones. The others may conflict with the code in my gamemode.

i added o couple addons for if theres going to be multiplayer compatibility but they should't affect the singleplayer gameplay too much.

@Nico #Pride2019 Yes, the cassette player was removed because it confused players. It serves a purpose that isn't clear, and is important element for story telling, but I scrapped the story in favor of getting the gamemode out in time for the contest. If I get a chance, I'll reintroduce it, but many other things will need to be completed first.

This is really good! I have to admit I was pretty creeped out the whole time and I jumped a little when I first saw the monster.

Only issues for me were:
- Lack of slot selection support (I am used to selecting weapons by their respective numbers, not by mousewheel).
- Map looked very basic and underdetailed. I'd love to see this map with more detailing, lower lightmap scales (sharper shadows), bit more lights, maybe some randomized elements besides fuses?
- The antagonist can be both unrelenting on one playthrough, and sit in his corner for 90% of the map on another. His AI at times feels very strange. After I started messing around with debug stuff and whatnot, I found that he can suddenly zip across the map to you for what seems like no reason (he couldn't see me and noclipping doesn't make any sound).
- It can be very hard and frustrating to learn new puzzle mechanics while stressed. You might want to look into breadcrumbing players into learning every major mechanic in [what feels like] a relatively safe place, and unleashing baddie on them only after they prove that they got hang of these mechanics.

This can be described as INFRA meets WireMod feat. Weeping Angel. Debugging some wiring has never been this stressful!
The gamemode itself + scripted entities and such are all very decently made.

Overall I'm very thrilled to see where this goes.
