I’m not still working on this, Comiclove has taken over development
Fruitgeris 27 Jul, 2024 @ 2:19pm
hey, are you still working on this?
rossmandoe 16 Jul, 2024 @ 1:35am
mega campaign compatible
Astures  [author] 16 Feb, 2024 @ 7:04pm
I’d be free, add me on steam and send me a message sometime.
Comiclove 9 Feb, 2024 @ 9:21pm
Hey, I'm thinking about picking this mod up and refurbishing it so it's up to par with the new EU4 cultures; I've already mapped out the conversions. Would you be free to chat sometime?
Astures  [author] 21 Oct, 2023 @ 2:04pm
If you add me on steam I can answer questions

This may not be related, but I noticed that Illyrian appears twice in the culture file. I don't know if I did something by mistake while looking through it or not, but could you give it a look?
Astures  [author] 28 Mar, 2023 @ 9:07pm
Yeah that is a very strange bug, generally the bug I tended to see was the smith bug. But this seems more serious
Valarian of Naples 27 Mar, 2023 @ 5:43pm
I'm going to try rebuilding a few items from scratch to see if I catch similar problems with the sudden homogenization problem. Hopefully custom characters don't get hit by the Oromo strangelets next!
Valarian of Naples 25 Mar, 2023 @ 8:04am
A few people had reported it previously, although I did add new cultures to the culture file. I also moved the dynasty names to a new file and added another list for my own new dynasty names to a second file.
Astures  [author] 21 Mar, 2023 @ 3:19pm
Did you make any changes? I haven’t encountered this issue before.
Valarian of Naples 21 Mar, 2023 @ 9:42am
I just encountered the infamous Danlander bug. It seems to turn any ruler not part of a pre-existing dynasty into a Danlander of the von Virneberg Dynasty, even if they're the Sultan of Egypt.
Valarian of Naples 20 Mar, 2023 @ 8:28am
Hey! I've been making an update to this while I've been waiting on the next EU4 udpdate, in order to not release a broken custom map for Aina Nui. I've added new Arabic, East Slavic, and East African cultures, and even dynasty names for cultures that weren't previously covered.
Astures  [author] 4 May, 2022 @ 6:57pm
I might update eventually but I haven't really felt too motivated to make changes especially with ck3 out. If someone wants to take this and use it as a base for their own mod they're free to. If I can figure out a way to make this in ck3 I will.
Baker0214 29 Sep, 2021 @ 8:13pm
Do you think youll update this mod eventually, or make a version of it for CK3? Its a great concept
Patrifle 14 Sep, 2021 @ 7:35pm
I'm not sure if this was intended or not but the new cultures like gascon and burgundian and schlesian just don't have their own retinues nor cultural building and i found it quite annoying so i spend some time modding this mod a little and got that fixed and by fixed i just threw the french to have french retinues and german ones to have german the only exceptions were swiss, wallonian and schlesian and just wanted to ask would you want me to send you it so it can be the main version of this mod, just so you know i only checked for european and north african countries
Vellichor 5 Sep, 2021 @ 12:30pm
glitch happening where characters become danlander + have no religion
dominicanboy9 11 Jun, 2021 @ 8:43am
There is a glitch where characters become danlander and have no religion
Astures  [author] 21 Apr, 2021 @ 4:32pm
i can continue it, it's just that I wasn't sure if there was still interest, since CK3 came out. I've also been pretty busy between school and work.
Jammy 12 Feb, 2021 @ 3:56pm
Since its been more then 6 months since you said to bear with you, is it safe to assume that this mod is dead which is quite a shame.
Astures  [author] 5 Jun, 2020 @ 9:38pm
So in regards to the dynasty name issue. This is actually a sort of large undertaking as CK2 dynasties are stored individually for each culture. It may take me a bit of time to correct the issue, so bear with me.
cass98 7 May, 2020 @ 9:10am
is anyone else having a problem with the dynasty names? all the names are smith
Deacon the Woofman 28 Apr, 2020 @ 2:01am
Nothing happens beyond error messages popping up. Is there a way to fix this?
GRanger75 29 Mar, 2020 @ 8:07pm
They were Saxon(I noticed on other German cultures) and Tuscan
Astures  [author] 28 Mar, 2020 @ 7:23am
@GRanger75 could you tell me which cultures these people are?
Astures  [author] 28 Mar, 2020 @ 7:07am
It doesn't need to be, it's save game compatible.
Typhoon 14 Mar, 2020 @ 6:00pm
does this need to be enabled at the start of a campaign or when ur converting the game
GRanger75 26 Feb, 2020 @ 6:52pm
I have a problem where there are just random people whose dynasty is always "Smith" and never a surname from their culture.
Astures  [author] 22 Feb, 2020 @ 4:10pm
@poliut It's compatible
Poliut 22 Feb, 2020 @ 4:00pm
Is this savegame compatible or will I need to start a new campaign?
gideon 7 Feb, 2020 @ 8:39am
I click both breakdown buttons and nothing happens, even waiting a long time. Does it only start after a certain time or is this some kind of glitch?
Astures  [author] 31 Dec, 2019 @ 11:24am
@Luiz187 Should it be Portuguese, because I just followed Paradox's example as they include it in EU4
Luiz 21 Dec, 2019 @ 6:58pm
I love the more cultures in Iberia, but I'm not sure if it makes sense for Galician to exist during this time period. The languages and cultures were one in the same or very similar up to vicky era.
Astures  [author] 8 Dec, 2019 @ 8:55pm
@Snail It appears when there is German culture in Eastern Europe that is not in the Baltic
Snailslayer The Mediocre 5 Nov, 2019 @ 4:51am
Love the mod. I noticed that there is a German culture Goth, and I'm wondering what circumstances this appears under?
Eternantium 12 Sep, 2019 @ 10:12am
(Oops deleted my comment)
Ah okay.
That makes sense, I suppose.
Astures  [author] 12 Sep, 2019 @ 8:38am
@Etermantium So far it doesn't touch them, so if Norman provinces appear then they'll stay Norman. Norman rulers will also convert to the local culture during the breakdown ruler cultures decision. I could make a melting pot much like with the Normans in England, but that would probably be after I handle cultures I feel are missing.
Astures  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 4:33am
@TheCraftedNexus Yes but I haven't had much time recently
AmadeusRex 9 Aug, 2019 @ 6:29pm
Hello, the Aquitaine culture has never existed ... The regions concerned are limousine culture or languedocian. For the Gascon culture, it is the terrritoires of Gascony.
TheCraftedNexus | gamekit.com 9 Aug, 2019 @ 5:29pm
Is this mod still being updated?
Astures  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 5:07am
@Heckknok I’ll consider it for sure
Heavenly Goblin 3 Aug, 2019 @ 3:38pm
can you please make an improved version of the culture drift mod that the original creator made aswell
falhxer 1 Jul, 2019 @ 8:52am
Whoever does a megacampaign, HAVE to know how to mod, converters are the tools, but the rest is done by the player, patience and knowledge can solve everything.
Astures  [author] 28 Jun, 2019 @ 7:43pm
@Basileus Well the current converter is not compatible with anything unique I add because it’s based on either the EU4 cultures or anything very major modders add. It’s part of the reason I’m not really adding too many custom things yet. However, if you’re doing a campaign to Victoria 2 you can also easily mod cultures yourself.
Carthage 28 Jun, 2019 @ 4:46pm
What happens to the custom cultures in vic2?
falhxer 26 Jun, 2019 @ 11:20am
Wonderful mod, truly majestic
Hariti Khatri 26 Jun, 2019 @ 12:05am
Would love if Scottish would split into highlander in the gaelic areas. It already exists in EU4 as well.
Hariti Khatri 25 Jun, 2019 @ 11:52pm
Praise Jupiter! Seriously, been hoping for this for ages.
Astures  [author] 24 Jun, 2019 @ 2:29pm
@Soldier95 It's certainly possible, Pontic would probably be the first one I would add, since it exists in EU4 already.
Soldier95 24 Jun, 2019 @ 1:43pm
Cultures that i like to se is from greek is griko in italy pontic in north anatolia and cappadocian in central anatolia. Do you think that you vill do those cultures?
