Sorry, haven't played the game for around a year now. Update is probably not on the cards.

I tried a new game and watched it for hours game time and no extra fuel is delivered to it except for the initial 5. I once tried to modify the Stirling Engine to use fuel just like you did but I ran into the same problem of it not consuming fuel even though it is set up in the mod like that.

even in the open position no fuel is consumed it would seem looking at the 5/5 storage. No drones delivery anymore either.

Just an idea, you could tie in a tiny amount of climate warming into the diesal generator per sol. Like 0.05 per generator or something.
