Well, we don’t want Spartacus to build a navy. He has two ways to win with his potential allies (Green and Orange). If you send Crixus to Octoduron, Green gets a buffed unit spawn. We will, however, give Spartacus a constant unit spawn in two of purple’s Town Centers to make him less miserable than his neighbors. Remember, since he is the weakest player, we designed his victory condition to be the easiest to achieve by bringing him to the flag for freedom. Thanks for the comment!

here's an idea: instead of spartacus escaping giving him the win, give him a giant barbarian army or something to go for a team win with gaul or pontus. Then you can make it easier to escape for that to happen eg. by letting him build docks or buffing his army to fight through

Only green can recruit gallic warriors in Bibracte. As for towers, I understand your frustration. We might decrease the limit or increase the penalty of having more than 20 towers. Thanks for thoughtful comments.

When Crassus dies, it says Crassus has died. Also, the time to declare victory triggers is set to 20 seconds.

green have better starting towers with +30 attack, this make push green hard without rams and specially in choke points
DeRoman_10  [author] 28 Apr, 2019 @ 2:37pm
there tower limit on 20 and we working about balancing the game, new update shall come in the next games
Freya™ 28 Apr, 2019 @ 2:08pm
Tower spam makes the game really hard in choke points. There should be a limit. Map requires some balancing. One player can easily snowball and kill two. I was surprised it is a 25 villager scenario, but the eco seems well balanced. Overall a great scenario just needs some balancing

you need some aoe, ron

this is a great scenario!:steamhappy:

We added some new features for green (he can now recruit gallic warriors for 30 gold, the same mechanism as legionary purchase trigger) and blue gets some buffed units at the start. We don’t want Spartacus to build docks. He had an army of slaves but lacked naval support. We want to reflect the historical aspect of Cilician pirates being able to help Spartacus in that matter. 10k gold will get you 200 legionaries, not 400. It would still require Gaul to play more defensively until he has enough force to assault Rome directly. Thanks for the comment, Dark.

Balancing Suggestions:
Green's Noble Cavalry Stable is easy to target with towers across the water so it can be taken out extremely early
Blue should get their slave spawns from destroying the TC, not destroying AND rebuilding it
Blue needs some form of a dock, maybe the ability to build them if Spartacus dies otherwise he just gets overwhelmed by the vast amount of legions being bought by purple
Yellow is like Teal but has no safe island to retreat to
Red needs instead of 10k gold, maybe a army otherwise he can buy up to 400 Legionnaires and Green cannot fight this even with special event units

I’m pretty sure grey is not weak as they can recruit cataphracts for 85 gold (30 max). With crossbows and siege to back them up, Roman legionaries stand no chance. However, we will try to make it more interesting for grey instead of having to survive for 2 hours to win. For yellow and green, I agree they are relatively weaker compared to their Roman neighbors. This is why I put a mercenary camp in the corner of Spain where green and yellow can access more freely and recruit slingers (anti-infantry unit). Also, if Crixus (one of blue’s heroes) make it to Octoduron (green’s outpost), green gets a nice boost of 30 unique units while blue gets compensated with food and gold. If Roman players decide to pump only legionaries out of their camps (which is a bad strategy), they will be taxed quite rigorously for going over their pop limit of 200. Thanks for the comment!

Fun map but grey is weak and pointless, you should either rework or replace them. Yellow and green are also definitely way weaker than teal and red (especially when they get a billion gold to recruit legionaries) so they need some sort of compensating strength
oniricul 23 Apr, 2019 @ 12:36pm
well you still had the top corner to add him there, but i understand adding greece so he can fight mithridates while the romans focus on something else
DeRoman_10  [author] 23 Apr, 2019 @ 9:56am
@pyrrhus burebista kingdom was on us thinking to add , but from lacks of players, we made greek player and no dacia ( burebista ) and also effect your map size we dont have areas of burebista. also we losed players like audei and Sequani which they strongest galic tribe and they in war this years,

BEST MAP EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
oniricul 23 Apr, 2019 @ 4:01am
But of course this splitting was done after some years, but i can understand the decisions to make it more interesting to players, youd rather be Caesar than Lucullus
oniricul 23 Apr, 2019 @ 3:59am
Haven't gotten a chance to play it, but it seems to be historically accurate mostly and i can see why some decisions have been taken to improve gameplay, i would recommend to remove P7 Greece and add Burebista's kingdom which was really powerful by this time, and give P7 holdings to Rome, also Caesar was the governor of Cisalpina which is Crassus's land in this map while Pompey had Spain and Africa and Crassus had Syria, but by this point the map has tons of triggers and i wouldnt be bothered to change anything if i were you, just minor observations.

Looks interesting :)
Might try this one once I'm back from vacation. Good luck

Unfortunately, no. This mod requires the Forgotten expansion as you would need to be able to pick Italians civ. You can still join when other people are hosting, so I wouldn't be too worried. Thanks for the comment!

this looks so cool. Is there a non-dlc required version in the works?
The Watman 22 Apr, 2019 @ 8:13pm
Thanks. I also left a suggestion in the "Cool Idea's"
Rook  [author] 22 Apr, 2019 @ 7:51pm
Thanks for the comment, esvalente. We designed this map as a multiplayer scenario so playing against AI won’t do it justice. I will be hosting quite often this week so let’s play it together sometimes.
The Watman 22 Apr, 2019 @ 7:29pm
Great Map. My only issue is that playing as Spartacus is too hard. I tried it on Easiest difficulty but i kept getting swarmed by endless SPQR without any chance of putting up resistance. It shoudnt be that diificult in the beginning, unless that's what you were going for. I had to resort to cheats just to survive and that wasn't what i wanted to happen.
