@Pascal Sparta - that scoring bug or whatever anyone wants to call it is an FM problem, it's been like that for a while now. Anyone else scores apart from strikers lol. Do remember though that this is a defensive version so the chances will be little compared to the attacking version.

Testing it with St. Albans. Went ok during pre-season but i am not creating chances not score goals. Ofcourse my players aren't the best but playing TFF Wall Shield (4-1-4-1) i win matches. Need to tweak this cause i really like these tactics. Great Job!

Yes I agree but i don't understand why i concede so many goals...

@Roro-blochon - as you said you did have a striker before who scored goals, so it worked fine yes? obviously now you have a striker who is not good enough or doesn't fit the role in the tactic. Such as he the position for example is poacher and the striker himself is an advanced forward then he will not really fit it. You need to get 1. a good striker, 2. someone to fit the tactic itself in FM.

Hello, i'm using your tactics for a season now, with Braunscgweig. I scored a lot of goals when i had a good scorer, but he left the club at the middle of the seanson so i score very fex goals, my stricker now is a 3 stars but it seems he doesn't want to socre.

I have another problem : even with the defensive tactic, my opponent score at least 2 goals by match ! And i have very good defensive players. I can't understand and it is very difficult now because my striker don't score anymore.... Is that normal ?

@DarkXess - Aye, I have not bought an FM since 2015 (I enjoyed that one) despite being around since 98 as the last couple have not impressed me but 19 is good.

Also again I stress that your tactic is very good and I win most of my games comfortably with it or the attacking variation. I am simply tweakng it to get a striker scoring as a luxury problem as that is the last piece of the puzzle to click, but to be fair I could have a striker score 0 goals in a season and I would still win with this tactic. So again thanks for sharing! :)

@Vern Winters - yep its good, I always encourage others to tweak my tactic to their own liking/style especially if some players do not adjust well to it such as I said previously in another comment, some strikers take to this very well where other strikers would do horrendously and so I get rid of them, this is also probably down to the FM bug where strikers can not score much for players though for AI it seems okay, I just hope in the next FM game coming soon is fixed. For me, FM19 was the best so far from the last 3 they made, so hope they improve on this one.

@DarkXess - This is true, I believe it to be an engine issue. One thing I noticed is that players in the box tend to no be too useful.
- If another player with the ball gets into the box they tend to shoot or pass backwards
- If the player in the box gets the ball passed to the feet they are usually tackled straight away
- Lots of crosses into the box but most attackers are small.

This last point got me thinking so I bought the biggest brute I could find as a striker. 19 Jumping, 15 heading, 12 anticipation. I changed your tactic a bit to accomodate, made him a TM - Att, set the full backs to cross to TM and changed the AMR to Winger - Supp and for corners to target big man instead of defender.

Early days but early results are promising, 3 goals in 2 games so far. He wins a lot of arial duels and is quite mobile so brings in others as well.

@Vern Winters - ahh the strikers not scoring problem, not looking for excuses for defending my tactic but this is a problem with FM19, if you search for it you will find many other posts/threads about such a thing, people calling it a bug and SI still have not bothered to fix it.

@DarkXess - I have used your attacking one too (and it too is great). I use them and the default GenGen tactics depending on the match and all work great but all suffer the same problem, i.e the strikers doing nothing and 90% of all shots being long range hit & hopes. The only tactic I have seen break this trend is the Gelt's Lightning Bolt, at least then the players make some wonderful long range incisive passes and the striker exists, but alas it really doesn't work that well with my lower league team.

But your tactic (both) get me results. I am playing the Defensive one since I have DM's but no real AM's and it's working, getting usually 1-0 or 2-0 out of it quite comfortably. Again thank you for sharing, it's greatly appreciated! If the press asks I came up with it......:P

@Vern Winters - hey man, thanks for the comment, you do know this is more of a defensive one rather than attacking? you could always rotate using the attacking one I have linked in the description too ;)

This is with a very quality challenged Forest Green team, gets them to top of the league, no losses yet after 14 games with this tactic. Worked for Liverpool as well

It works, plain and simple. I wish the goals where a bit better (mostly long shots and the odd cross) but cannot argue with results.

@MG - what do you mean Rng? and you must have a very bad team for this to not work as you claim. Your team is fully familiarised with the tactic?

my statistics are fine, but i lose every game 0:1 ..... Penalty, direct Freekicks, etc. The Rng breaks it.......

I have never been one for team talks (always forget) Can I use a decent AM to do them? Thanks I am going to give it a go with Everton

@fribbe - yes mate I do, the more defensive one I use on bigger teams usually on an away game or if I wanted to say "park the bus" lol.

Do you switch between the 4141 and 4231 depending on the opposition?
