Why, coz my extremely worded description is too long for you to read? At least it's better than those who just have nothing and say nothing about and could be a crap mod or map. Here you can read the description and then decide whether or not you want to download to try. With the no description or barely any description, you're kinda forced to to download to try....wasting internet data.
Look at Vic's screenshot, he has it. So you don't have the Toy Master entry show up here?

Uh, they were probably from a heavily custom server you joined...If you know which file points to which entry, you could probably delete two of those and you would be left with just one entry for "Killing Floor"....

And for KFmod - yes, i guess it IS hardcoded, though, i have KFmod v1.0 on KFmod folder inside UT04 root folder, all versions of 2.0-2.52 are using the same KFMod20 folder, as far as i know and v2.53 uses KFMod253 folder by default, since it is kinda "fork" or "mod of a mod" of version 2.5, so i have v1.0, v 2.53 and v2.53 installed and working at the same time...
Proton: 109.106.136.40 gives me 408 ping
Shoxx.io 85.14.228.208 gives me 364 ping
and 333networks.com 84.83.176.234 times out, maybe they blocked it, either trying to hide themselves or forgot to unblock it.....so would have to start the game to find out manually.....
Best way for us to play would be to compromise latency, what country is smack bang in the middle of Russia and Australia? And we find someone to host a server in that country......hahaha
Ah I see, well they should call it FV2.53 instead because then it is confusing using the same version scheme as the original..... I tried renaming mod folder to KFMod252 instead of KFMod20 so I could have all three versions of the mod in the same install directory, but the mod wouldn't load so I guess the naming scheme is hard coded....

That server you saw was, probably, a German "Miasma" community's server, or 333.com .
Miasma was around very long, and they've modded the game alot (made new perk, Chembug and stuff)but as far as i've heard, they were very secretly and unwelcome, and refused to talk with our admin, and didn't accept my registration on their forums for over 6 months or so...
I think their server went down not long ago, and atsome point 333.com also hosted simultaneously with them...
But recently i've heard that Proton made their own 2.52 server and went to check it out and found out that Miasma is not there now, but there is this new Shoxx.io instead (oh, and MIa's server was passworded toowhen it was around, btw)

Yeah, same here, just in my case they were some asian mod servers. Maybe Japanese or Chinese (but i think Chinese should be more or less okay, about 350 ms or so)
I have friends from Yakutia in HL1 mods community (Half-Life Collection) and they have to rent a server to play with us with normal ping and attract players from around Russia and other post-Soviet countries.
Last I played 2.52, there was only one server the server browser could find ingame, can't remember what it was called but it was tumble weed town though.....hahahaha I was looking into setting a dedicated server (one for 1.0 and 2.5 or 2.52) for that too here in AUS, but thought nah, too much effort for no interests......

Hahahahaha, nah it was suppose to be 6 soldier dudes shooting a jack in the box and a few knife throwers, a reference to this mod's jack and knife throwing dummies with a full party of players jacking him.......but steam screwed it up by not rendering the white spaces correctly.....and depending on the font you use to open that readme text file, may also not show correctly either....heh...
hahahaha, I remember joining a few russian servers and had a ping of over 400......yeah around 500.....or so....lol Barely playable.......at least for me anyways....
And yes, i was surprised as much as you are when i occasionally found out that 2.53 got out, and even 2.54 is promised to be released pretty soon... Though, quite a time has paassed, and it is still not.
Check for 2.53 on ModDB, but be prepared to the fact that it is broken (weapon viewmodels are terribly misplaced and almost impossible to use - like LAW and welder are in the middle of thescreen, blocking the view) and in general it's 2 new perks (Firebug and Sargeant) + FP-Chaingunner mut + general changes to make 2.5 look and feel as close to Retail (Steam) KF as possible (like weapon selection order and hotkeys, main memu music, bloat puke fix etc).
Well, getting it to work with 1065 is a big problem, and something i'm trying to talk the team into doing :D We're currently basing on 1014 or a bit later i think... Need to ask the coders to be sure.
But we're playing it alot lately... But we're from Russia, I'm afraid you'll get ping from Hell if you'll try to join us + the language barrier (not everyone in here are good in English...)
And yeah, that's why I try to be as informative as possible with my description so I don't leave anything out, if I do, you could always just ask or verify with me and hopefully I respond back..hahaha

oooh, if you could get DA2 working, I'd love to join that - I never really played that mod before, or recall playing it anyways and the last time I remember trying was met with a menu screen that wouldn't show the main menu.....lol if you do manage to get it working with 1065, give me a shout will ya? hahaha
Yeah I'd also love some multiplayer coop with the old 2.52 version KF mod too from UT2k4, but no one wants to play with me....except one guy but I dunno, he looks like he just can't be arsed....hahaha :( It was alright solo, but gets boring after a while by yourself....
I'm not interested in Puppet Master mod much (but am in some other mods and my friends are kinda working on restoration of another dead KF mod, DA2 and we also play the old "mod" version of KF for UT2004, v .252 mostly, but i'm also esting v 1.0 and v 2.53 and other versions) but thank you for "not a virus" thing. It was bothering me on some other modded server i play on from time to time currently.

Well he essentially said I could do whatever I see fit with it, which to me interprets as free reign over the release...which also means I *could* upload/mirror it on other sites....and I gave credits too, so I did not dish this out as my own work.....

Usually links to their work die before the creator takes them down....if at all....if he didn't want me to share it, then he could have mentioned this to me or on the forum......but you're indirectly sharing anyways if you host it on your server....

I have cleaned up the workshop description, hopefully it reads better with less of my tangent...still near that 8k character limit though....they need to lift that limit, they also lift the limit for characters in comments too like this one which I bet I would need to split into two parts or three to post.....
I did not such thing, he's last public release was V3 was the one that didn't mismatch because he called he's updated files differently, in this case he's intention WAS to actually replace them and even contacted tripwire to push the update but they, for whatever reasons, did not!
This V4 copy was meant to be the pushed update, and it just so happens he still had the file lying around and gave it to me and said I could do whatever I want with it but warned me that he might get in trouble for sharing this copy as the devs technically owns this....
So it would appear no one else had a copy of this but me, Skell and the devs.... Don't believe me? Why don't you PM Skell and ask him about it? If he even ever replies back that is, as it seems everyone in the KF modding community is currently dead....

Well it is unreleased in the context of it not being released publicly or pushed to the store page one... If the devs really had it, how come they didn't push the update?
Yeah I remember reading that part but I don't think he never put the time into actually making it....otherwise I bet that would have been V5.....

AFAIK you just did some general tweaking and also made this version mismatch which Skell's actual version didn't?
