A note on this mod and frostfall, if you play with axe wear in frostfall, when an axe becomes worn out ("trusty" or something like that, don't remember the exact name) it regains its weight, so I suggest deactivating axe wear in Frostfall's MCM.

So conviniant! i have frostfall wich adds a lot of gear so this mod is a lifesaver.

Real world pickaxes and wood cutting ares aren't that heavy. So m any game developers give them rediculous weights simply because they don't do any research. Thank you for this mod.

I used to go around with a zero pickaxe/woodaxe weight mod but it felt like too much cheating. I actually picked up all the axes I found because they weighed nothing. This mod is nicely balanced, they weigh enough that I'm not inclined to pick them up as clutter, but not so much to be annoying.

Only a minor edit; the base damage value has been reduced from five to three in keeping with the reudced weight. Lighter Tools do less damage.

To Ray, I do understand that pickaxe's and woodcutter's axes are heavy, We have a full size pickaxe at home and I have felt a full size axe too. They are heavy.
However, in the game it gets annoying. The mod is classed under the 'cheats' category as a result in realisation of this.
If you do not like it then you are not obliged to use the mod.

It's simply amazing what some people will complain about. So what if four other people created the same mod. The fact that anyone still creates and updates mods for this game is amazing, nevermind the fact that they spend their own time creating them for the rest of us lazy ass gamers to use for free. If there are four or a dozen of the same mod on here, then so be it. Choose one you like and stfu.

Really this just makes sense. Because why would a pickaxe or a woodcutter's axe weigh 10 lbs (or whatever unit of measurement is used) when a sword weighs the same or only 2-5 more in some situations I think?

Yes well its called "Lighter Tools" and was 6th most popular a few months back- not sure how you could have missed it - was on front page for a week - also not sure why its not showing up now but same name is confusing many - you guys need to communicate and stop filling STEAM with dozens of copies of the same stuff - was my only point really - I searched again earlier and found same results you did. Withdrawing my complaint as I couldnt find it either - will ask him what he did but likely he removed it and its 4 language translations as there were others

I have now done some research into the issue you rasied SirVanzeek and it appear that there are many mods which do the same thing. I found mods by these authors that also reduce the wieght of the tools: Boom, Nugget, Golden Dragon, cartman310 and SlightlyOddFish. I could not find the one by sirrottet after looking through over a thousand mods under four different search terms.
There were also others that had made bound pickaxes and axes as an alternative way of combatting the weight problem.
I see that mine was not an original idea but there are many others out there who have also had it and not just SirRottet. As such I do not feel that I need to explicitly credit to SirRottet whose mod I have been unable to find.
Everyone is obviously free to choose whichever they prefer should they have a specific problem with mine.
