Lighter Tools

Description
~~~~~~~~~~ What it does ~~~~~~~~~~
This mod reduces the weight value of pickaxes and axes (woodcutter's) to three from ten and base damage from five to three. Simple as, no messy bits, no pointless frills.
~~~~~~~~~ Why did I make it? ~~~~~~~~~~

I made it because having these basic tools very often comes in handy if you find a valuable ore vein and there aren't any world-placed pickaxes to hand or other such situations. At times like these they can be very useful but vanilla Skyrim weighs them at ten each which can be a very large incumberance, especially if you are a pack rat like me!
This is a great companion mod for the common Skyrim survival mod Frostfall where an axe is almost essential for harvesting wood.

~~~~~~~~~~ How it works ~~~~~~~~~~
This mod edits the base weight value and damage value of the standard pickaxe and woodcutter's axe. All other official pickaxes and axes, such as the Notched Pickaxe or Poacher's Axe, are edited copies of these originals and so the change is applied to those too.
In this way any other axe's or pickaxes created in this way will have the same weight value whether created by Bethesda or another modder, so long as Lighter Tools is loaded after the relevant mods.
~~~~~~~~~~ Compatibility ~~~~~~~~~~

There should be no compatibility issues associated with this mod. No other mods are required for Lighter Tools. To minimise risk of an issue with another mod or another mod overriding, it is recommended that it is placed as near the bottom of the load order (loaded last).

~~~~~~~~~~ Bugs ~~~~~~~~~~
There are no known bugs associated with this mod. If you experience any problems with your game and believe it to be due to this mod please leave a comment with details below and I will look into it as soon as possible.
N.B. I do not own any of the official DLC packs and so am unable to test on them. I am aware that Dragonborn features a new pickaxe and have not been able to test on it. However, due to the way in which this mod is made (see above) it should work with that too as long as Lighter Tools is loaded after the Dragonbron plugin file. If anyone with Dragonborn could check this or find out it would be much appreciated, thanks!
~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~

If you're still reading then thanks for showing so much interest in my mod! I hope it helps you during your travels in Tamriel.
If you like the mod I would be really grateful if you could RATE it up and RECOMMEND to your friends, maybe even FOLLOW my workshop if your feeling generous!

A note on this mod and frostfall, if you play with axe wear in frostfall, when an axe becomes worn out ("trusty" or something like that, don't remember the exact name) it regains its weight, so I suggest deactivating axe wear in Frostfall's MCM.

the axe is lighter but the pick is still the same weight =/

Real world pickaxes and wood cutting ares aren't that heavy. So m any game developers give them rediculous weights simply because they don't do any research. Thank you for this mod.

I used to go around with a zero pickaxe/woodaxe weight mod but it felt like too much cheating. I actually picked up all the axes I found because they weighed nothing. This mod is nicely balanced, they weigh enough that I'm not inclined to pick them up as clutter, but not so much to be annoying.

Hello World!

v1.1 is out!

Only a minor edit; the base damage value has been reduced from five to three in keeping with the reudced weight. Lighter Tools do less damage.

To Ray, I do understand that pickaxe's and woodcutter's axes are heavy, We have a full size pickaxe at home and I have felt a full size axe too. They are heavy.
However, in the game it gets annoying. The mod is classed under the 'cheats' category as a result in realisation of this.
If you do not like it then you are not obliged to use the mod.

It's simply amazing what some people will complain about. So what if four other people created the same mod. The fact that anyone still creates and updates mods for this game is amazing, nevermind the fact that they spend their own time creating them for the rest of us lazy ass gamers to use for free. If there are four or a dozen of the same mod on here, then so be it. Choose one you like and stfu.
