Maybe DaLLaN knows about this side, maybe not, but I no longer care.

If they patch EBF just to cancel the dialog box but never bothered to fix their code (ahem Quality Bionics Remastered ahem), then once again, it really is on DaLLaN, and I shall stand vindicated.

At first glance EBF does not deal with consciousness.

Also, from what I can read at their GitHub repo, the Consciousness Patch code is written in a way which is arcane (AI generated?). Compatibility cannot be confirmed.

@Vectorial1024 -- I don't have a horse in this race, so-to-speak, but I did notice that DaLLaN seems to be back. Mechalit Core and Cyber Fauna were both updated to 1.6 and the boilerplate message was removed. It does look like there were some changes on DaLLaN's side though, so maybe a patch isn't needed any more?

That's it. Just wanted to inform you if you were not already aware. I hope folk respect your decision, regardless of what it is. :p2cube:

EBF will change the status of the "Breathing, Bloodpumping and Blood filtration" of the mod "Consciousness Patch" by more than 100%, which will cause the values to become very exaggerated.

Also, I think removing DaLLaN's DLLs have the potential risk of losing all prior DaLLaN's bionics because the bionics from the save files will fail to find their correct definitions, but I could be wrong here.

I haven't been able to reply until now.

I will only add to the discussion on DaLLaN that I have been too busy for too long to actually implement the changes at the correct timing. I stand by my decision. The correct timing to remove support is when RimWorld 1.6 came out, but I was too busy.

Re Quality Bionics Remastered, there is actually a planned 2nd look at the compatibility. I will try to get to it asap.

I will not apologize for removing support for DaLLaN's mods because that is a right move, but I will instead apologize for failing to think of a good way quick enough for other mods to programmatically provide max HP buff data to EBF. This has missed my mind for many years wondering why adoption of EBF is not high enough when seemingly the pathway should be there (it was never there).

So there's no technical reason here, you're just upset that the creator of that mod had a grievance with Ludeon?

Hypothetically speaking if you wanted to use this mod with Mechalit Core, you could make a local copy of the mod and delete every instance where the comp <li Class="ProthesisHealth.HediffCompProperties_PartHitPoints"> is used in HediffDefsMechaProt.xml then delete the assembly folder with contents and then change the packageID and name in about.xml. Of course this is completely hypothetical and I would not advise doing it.

EBF is still not compatible with QBR, and loading two at the same time will cause factions on the new map to fail to refresh.

Understandable if there is actual technical breakage with both installed. Otherwise it just seems like a personal thing and not better than what they other guy seems to have done with their rant.

DaLLaN did that to themselves. My decision to drop Cyber Fauna and Mechalit Core was made last year. See https://github.com/Vectorial1024/EliteBionicsFramework/issues/81 for more info.

Your disappointment is fully anticipated.

I shall have no more comments on this matter unless something interesting is happening again at DaLLaN's side.

CyberFauna being explicitly unsupported is a dealbreaker for me right now. I don't care if this mod just doesn't apply to it, but to have a direct incompatibility is an issue.

This can be easily verified in 2025 with Dev Mode:

1. Dev Quick Test
2. Max all skills all pawns
3. God mode build a hospital bed
4. Spawn in the bionics, medicines, etc
5. Ensure there is a pawn that will do doctoring; spawn more pawns and max all skills if needed
6. Order a "install bionic" operation on a pawn (let's call this pawn P)
7. Wait for operation to complete
8. Open health tab of P
9. Dev tool -> show hidden hediffs
10. A whole bunch of body parts are listed as "removed"

This is still true in 2025. This mod is still meaningful to this day.

one of the links in the description is a discussion about limbs having less HP with bionics, that was 10 years ago, is it still the case? has this not changed after 10 years in vanilla?

Yes, I thought about it and this mod can decouple from HugsLib; also see https://github.com/Vectorial1024/EliteBionicsFramework/issues/103 . Just that, it takes time to work through it.

And I am currently working on Quality Bionics compatibility; if things are going smooth, then me + community may have one less thing to worry about for real.

Any chance for this mod to be dropping HugsLib in the future? It's now the last mod that still uses it in my modlist, after most others that once did removed it for good.

Regarding Quality Bionics, seems like there's a new continuation mod from a different dev, and seemed like they wanted to/were looking into adding compatibility with this mod - might be more approachable than the old team.

@Vectorial1024 Yes, I mentioned in the blocked message that I didn't find any errors or exceptions in the error log, I also disabled all mods in version 1.6 and tried once again with dev, it doesn't work. I was really confused

They are very comfortable with unjustified breaking changes. The 1.5 Quality Bionics team decided to just rename the mod C# namespace to something else, which makes their own users impossible to execute the 1.4 -> 1.5 migration and therefore also generated beef with this side. They mentioned having trouble with Elite Bionics Framework, I say they entirely caused that themselves and then nominated me as the scapegoat. Shame!

I think this mod was compatible with the old quality bionics (Continued), but not with the remastered one for version 1.6...
Could these two mod become compatible again? Because it feels dangerous to remove either one of them from the save file, cuz I was thinking they were compatable when I was putting them together

Performance should have been improved a lot; if you are talking about huge lag spikes, GUI lag etc, that would be a long time ago (GitHub says 2 years ago)
