@Darian
Sorted! Many thanks

Did you add the required mod?
In Space Engineers, camera raycasting requires a certain amount of 'charge' in order to scan at a particular distance.
The mod makes it much more powerful, though, so charging so much isn't as required.

"...insufficient raycast charge..." what does that means? it appears on the LCD Raycast after running SCAN ON. Also no image on the LCD Viewscreen... I bit lost atm. Thanks

Is this script supposed to widen my debug font?
nubeees 14 May, 2019 @ 7:17pm
That's exciting!

I have updated the script to reflect the depreciated definitions. Working on converting the monofont picture to the new sprite lcd capabilities. Will take some time, got a rough idea how to do it, and will be working with my son on it. Will be a MAJOR improvement, and I hope it will eliminate the taxation it makes on the cpu. If so, then that will be a big step to making this a viable script for everyday use.

Anyone got ideas on script language that will help convert to the new sprites has my attention, and welcome any knowledge given on the subject. As I stated, this is a project I want to see succeed so credit given is no problem for me.

you have no idea how long I've wanted someone to do this, even if its really taxing

Nope
wolfenray73  [author] 9 Jan, 2019 @ 5:15pm
Are you using the monospace font?
[7HBK] Elrond McBong 9 Jan, 2019 @ 3:28pm
the Raycast Screen loads normaly and it shows, that the Script works if i run the PB with SCAN ON Argument.

I have a Weird Problem. Everything is set up as described, and the Script also works kind of. But instead of the actual Image like it should be, i see just a whole screen full of Questionmarks in white rhombs what seems to be unknown Symbol placeholder in SE.

@ woostyboy - It takes about a million charge per second at the default settings. So you got to wait a spell if the raycast is depleted. I kind of like the concept of the computer taking time to sufficiently scan before display. Less resolution and range equals less charge and vice versa. So 120 million charge equals about 2 minutes time with SCAN ON.

Thanks. I have checked and It is called 'Camera View'. Does the 'LCD Raycast' count on screen have to count up to a certain number? Thanks.

@woostyboy - just stumbled over your comment. Read how the camera has to be named above ("Camera View"). Maybe it helps

Hi wolfenray73, I must be doing something wrong... :(

1. Have PB with script running
2. Have timer running itself and the PB with argument SCAN ON.
3. LCD called 'LCD Viewscreen'
4. Camera called 'Camera'.

LCD screen is just blank :(

PB shows error -

Runtime (in seconds): 0
Caugh exception during execution of script:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at
Program.readyCams(MyCameraBlock[]&cams)
at
Program.update()
at
Program.Main(Stringarg)

Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Woosty.

ahh. thanks. cool script though :)

Anything beyond the servers view range is procedural, and does not exist. Only what can be observed is rendered, and in a DS you have grid sync and all that reducing rendering further. So the amount of raycast charge it would take at 50km just to see on lcd an object no smaller then a planet would be pointless. 7.5km pushes to the feasible limit of reason, as a grid needs to be at least the size of a small asteroid to be seen on the lcd at 40 to 60 pixels.

I once asked in the forums for a script JUST like this to use as a long range radar assist for aiming the 50km range railguns.. is it possible to extend the range beyond the servers view range?
wolfenray73  [author] 3 Jan, 2019 @ 7:08pm
Sorry, I forgot to mention that part. So I will put it in the description when I upload the video shortly. You must set the PB block to SCAN ON (in caps) arguement to put onto lcd viewscreen, and another SCAN OFF (in caps) arguement to turn off lcd viewscreen. The increasing numbers is the raycast charge available. Uses abour 1 million charges per run at the default setting. When the raycast charge runs out, the viewscreen will blink saying 'raycast insufficient charge'. That means you need to have the numbers build up again before turning viewscreen back on.

Hope that helps, will edit soon in description. :D

how do you set this up? I installed the mod, and have the lcds and camera named properly, and the programmable block is running. The only thing that is happening is the panel "LCD Raycast" says "Camera View" and increasing numbers right next to it

nice! Thx ^^

That is a cool idea! I will look into that and see if that can work. :D

Is there a way to send the LCD via an Antenna and a remote script?
Like make a receiver script so you could have satallites
