i found out ingame and you cant breathe on this planet if only people could breath so you could play survival with helmets off
Wolfcraft 23 Jun, 2020 @ 4:23pm
dose this work with open helmets? or dose it remove ability to breathe

I tested my system with the No Atmo Titan, and it worked! I can have planet (Titan, at least) at any size I desire without the black voxels, and thankfully still have the interesting, beautiful sky of Titan when walking/driving around the surface. I hope other planets can be so modded.

Apologies for the late reply, i've kept meaning to comment but forgot to. Yes when you take off the Atmosphere you can't used the Atmos Thrusters. However, when my friend and I did this originally we weren't able to breath air so that is a new one to me. Im not too sure why it was like that for you. When my friend and I played we had to stick to strictly Hydrogen power when starting on the earth. Perhaps with the recent updates for whatever reason there is still 'breathable' air when turning off the atmosphere. Here is a link I had posted on in the support section for Keen. It's gotten quite a few replies of people reporting similar issues. Sadly keen works with a 'voting' system and topics need to be voted on enough for them to take a look at it. https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/intel-graphics-graphical-memory-leak

I'm encountering the black everything bug on planets in two of my PC's (got the kids some cheapo current Intel's with integrated graphics, they're running almost all their games without trouble, on low at least)
The <HasAtmostphere>False trick resolves the rendering, however it results in all atmospheric thrusters becoming none operational, providing 0 thrust. oddly, my character is still breathing something with his helmet open???

Good question, never thought of that. Though, i'm not sure how to go about trying to do that
Amy 6 Jul, 2019 @ 11:53am
has anyone tried just disabling the graphical settings of the atmosphere without removing it entirely?
higginsrm17 6 Jun, 2019 @ 3:26am
Ah that makes sense! i will remove the earthmoon5 from my subscribed folder. I am using a intel integrated GPU and it used to work fine. Ta for the clarification.
SICC  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 5:28pm
Both the EarthMoon5 and NoAtmosEarth have the planet named 'Kara' so you can't use them together. However, the EarthMoon5 was when I was first testing out stuff, so you should try just using the NoAtmosEarth instead. I made a new world and tested the NoAtmosEarth and it works for me and has the new trees that were added into the game recently. Basically it's the Atmospheric textures and meshes that SE uses that was causing the issue for my friend, and some other people who tested this planet and it fixed their issue. Are you using an Integrated GPU?

Ok, i've subscribed to both templates, what is the moon called within the spawn panel? I'll have another look later too.
SICC  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 3:57am
It shouldnt be showing up as a moon since it's a earth-like planet template
SICC  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 3:49am
Hmm weird, perhaps the latest update messed with this planet i made. Did you start with lone survivor as i mentioned? I'd have to look at it tomorrow/later and perhaps update it and maybe that will fix it
higginsrm17 5 Jun, 2019 @ 1:49am
The planet still blacks out for me :( "Kara" Comes up as the moon on my game... the manual way also doesn't seem to work anymore. Suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply, I upgraded my motherboard since i last uploaded this so I dont have it on my current computer anymore as it's in an external harddrive but I believe you just go to load game while in the main menu and you can select the custom planet folder to upload to the workshop. I'll reconfrim later when I have time to test it out again. Im pretty certain that when you make the custom planet it should be a folder in your mod directory and when you go to load game there should be a folder for you to select to load to the work shop.

Hey, just thought I would ask since you seem to know what you're doing and I cant find an answer anywhere else. How did you upload your planet to the workshop? I have been making some no-atmosphere planets myself lately and I thought I might upload a few of them. No worries if you dont want to respond, just curious.

Hey guys, this thread got it's status updated

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/intel-graphics-graphical-memory-leak

If you can vote on the topic if you havnt already, it will help to make keen look even further into this topic!
SICC  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 2:18pm
Sorry for the late replies. Are either of you from the Keen support thread? If so, if you could post on the thread that it worked for you, that would be great so it gets pushed up to the top.

As to how to spawn the planet. Start a new world, add the mod, select lone survivor or empty world. Once you load in, so Shift+F10 to access the spawn menu, select planets, then pick the planet named 'Kara'. After that select how big you want the planet and you can spawn it in.
SaltyAndSour 7 Nov, 2018 @ 2:46am
How do you spawn the planet?
Yakobe The Derpy 5 Nov, 2018 @ 10:30pm
You sir have solved an issue I've been pulling my hair out over for the last month. Thank you!
SICC  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 4:15pm
Yeah that would be great. For the time being my friend and I are playing with no atmosphere and will be using just hydrogren thrusters. It's not ideal but at least we get to play together.
jouster500 30 Oct, 2018 @ 3:20pm
Indeed it did, and i made a note of it on the bug report. It would be nice if an atmosphere could be loaded but without the atmosphere texture itself
SICC  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 1:34pm
Sounds good, let me know if it helped at all
jouster500 30 Oct, 2018 @ 12:20pm
Thanks. Ill begin testing this right away.
