Description
Test planet for black texure bug. This might fix your issue like it did for my friend

Instructions; Start a new world, select lone survivor or empty world. Select this mod, and load the world. Once loaded in, press Shift + F10, this will bring up the spawn menu. Once the spawn menu is up, select the planets category, and then select the planet named 'Kara'. Once selected, choose the size of the world you want, and paste in the planet.

That should fix your issue if you're experiencing a similar bug.

The issue of the black textures seems to be coming from whatever textures and mesh they use for the atmosphere.

If you want to use other planets, you can actually change the setting yourself. It's a little tedious, but anyone can do it.

Manual Instructions; Start a new world, select whichever scenario you want that comes with the vanilla planets. Load into the game, and assuming you're getting the black texture bug, just log out and save right away after the world loads in and is created.

After that, you need to go to your appdata/roaming folders. Go into the Space Engineers folder, and locate your saves folder. Once you're in your save folders, locate the world that you just created. Once you locate your save folder, inside should be a file called SANDBOX_0_0_0_ which you need to use a textpad editor like notepad++ or just the default one Windows comes with. Once you open it with a text editor, you can do Ctrl + F to bring up a search function. ONce the search function is up, paste in this value <HasAtmosphere>true</HasAtmosphere> Depending on how many planets the scenario that you selected has, you will need to change all the values to false. After changing the values to fasle, save the file and close it. Once closed, there will be another similar named file called SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB1 that you will need to delete for the changes to be completed. After you delete SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB1 you can load in your world and any planet that was in the world created will not have an atmosphere.

If this has helped you after getting a silimar issue to black texture bugs, please vote on this thread https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/intel-graphics-graphical-memory-leak so Keen will look further into this issue!

i found out ingame and you cant breathe on this planet if only people could breath so you could play survival with helmets off

dose this work with open helmets? or dose it remove ability to breathe

I tested my system with the No Atmo Titan, and it worked! I can have planet (Titan, at least) at any size I desire without the black voxels, and thankfully still have the interesting, beautiful sky of Titan when walking/driving around the surface. I hope other planets can be so modded.

Apologies for the late reply, i've kept meaning to comment but forgot to. Yes when you take off the Atmosphere you can't used the Atmos Thrusters. However, when my friend and I did this originally we weren't able to breath air so that is a new one to me. Im not too sure why it was like that for you. When my friend and I played we had to stick to strictly Hydrogen power when starting on the earth. Perhaps with the recent updates for whatever reason there is still 'breathable' air when turning off the atmosphere. Here is a link I had posted on in the support section for Keen. It's gotten quite a few replies of people reporting similar issues. Sadly keen works with a 'voting' system and topics need to be voted on enough for them to take a look at it. https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/intel-graphics-graphical-memory-leak

I'm encountering the black everything bug on planets in two of my PC's (got the kids some cheapo current Intel's with integrated graphics, they're running almost all their games without trouble, on low at least)
The <HasAtmostphere>False trick resolves the rendering, however it results in all atmospheric thrusters becoming none operational, providing 0 thrust. oddly, my character is still breathing something with his helmet open???

Good question, never thought of that. Though, i'm not sure how to go about trying to do that

has anyone tried just disabling the graphical settings of the atmosphere without removing it entirely?

Ah that makes sense! i will remove the earthmoon5 from my subscribed folder. I am using a intel integrated GPU and it used to work fine. Ta for the clarification.

Both the EarthMoon5 and NoAtmosEarth have the planet named 'Kara' so you can't use them together. However, the EarthMoon5 was when I was first testing out stuff, so you should try just using the NoAtmosEarth instead. I made a new world and tested the NoAtmosEarth and it works for me and has the new trees that were added into the game recently. Basically it's the Atmospheric textures and meshes that SE uses that was causing the issue for my friend, and some other people who tested this planet and it fixed their issue. Are you using an Integrated GPU?

Ok, i've subscribed to both templates, what is the moon called within the spawn panel? I'll have another look later too.
