Alasvaga 31 Dec, 2022 @ 12:47am
The quest has bugged for me and won't complete despite doing the whole thing; what's the quest ID so i can remove it from my log?

One of my top 5 favorite skyrim mods, works great alongside Improved College of winterhold.
Nova 18 Jul, 2017 @ 3:22am
Oh, and another little issue. Can't seem to find a cooking pot anywhere. I have mods that let me address this, but would have preferred not to have to use them, and leaving my home just to cook the food I need to survive seems kinda weird.
Nova 18 Jul, 2017 @ 3:19am
I feel like (or rather, are really hoping) that I'm missing something with the hatchery. Is it truly just an area to loot and forget? I was really looking forward to using it to actually hatch things when I saw it listed as a feature of the player home.
Saladofstones 31 Mar, 2017 @ 7:16pm
Is the Silver Claw supposed to be a red herring? It doesn't work
gorgophone 15 Jul, 2016 @ 5:31pm
This is a really, REALLY amazing mod that implies a lot of backstory to the college that really needed to be in game. Winterhold suddenly felt like what it is: a once-bustling college turned into a nearly deserted sanctuary for magic barely holding onto the edges of Skyrim.
It was also the first time in a long time playing that I was really on edge and felt present in the mystery of the game. (I tend to overthink the action-consequence issues in skyrim.) The mechanics for some parts weren't very intuitive like the entrance and exit layout, but I got the sense that that was the best way to get it to work, so. I'm going to say what's been said before: this is something of a masterpiece. Very well done.

SILVER CLAW DOESN'T WORK
soreass 18 Nov, 2014 @ 3:54pm
Masterfully done! So much detail. Great writing and clever use of books and notes to work around voice acting NPCs. This is exactly what the College should have been in the first place. Mysterious and Arcane! This is the best mod I have ever played for Elder Scrolls. Congratulations!

Looking forward to more of you work!

Great so far.....defeated all...but damn! forgot about the chain in the waterfall....can't seem to get near that orb.....starts draining life......book for glass dagger was picked up but is not in my inventory.......
Grandfeatherex 22 Apr, 2014 @ 12:28pm
first time in like a year i got on a comp that can handle skyrim (my comp is back home) and now skyrim says it is not getting information on your mods ... :/ and i liked them
Onichu 7 Feb, 2014 @ 4:21pm
@erthminkey I haven't played through the updated Midden: Expanded, but the Ruined Fane was pretty epic when I went through it! If that particular dungeon has been upgraded as well, I should look forward to it all the more!
easier_rider  [author] 3 Feb, 2014 @ 6:08pm
Speaking of which, I've uploaded some preview shots of my new Dungeon Pack to my profile (should be publicaly viewable). Due out by the end of the month!
JEEM 1 Feb, 2014 @ 12:14am
Awesome, I'm looking forward to it!
easier_rider  [author] 31 Jan, 2014 @ 6:05pm
It's supposed to be from a whale. I used some bones from the whalebone bridge in Sovengarde (single ribs + the head). And in fact, I'm working on a new dungeon pack right now that will feature a dungeon under the sea of ghosts, and will definitely feature more of the same.
JEEM 31 Jan, 2014 @ 3:19am
I was wondering what the skeleton in the grotto is from. If it's nothing already in the game it would be awesome if you added it in another mod, maybe to the sea of ghosts.
easier_rider  [author] 24 Jan, 2014 @ 12:39pm
Thanks for your patience everyone. v1.03 is now live; the clawdoor glitch should be fixed (the key is on a table in teh crafting area of the grotto, connor.mackey). I have also hand-cleaned and polished everything with TES5Edit for better compatibility.
TheLordofNyrin 22 Jan, 2014 @ 8:15pm
This is one of the best dungeon mods i've played. And i have played alot of them. Many of which i found to have issues like being unbalanced buggy or poorly designed but this one hasnt messed with anything. No crashes (besides the ones i already have) excelent intergration into the game, and a great design. I would live in the arcane grotto if I wasnt already working on a house mod of my own. Great Job!
TheLordofNyrin 22 Jan, 2014 @ 8:12pm
@Skyrimnut where did you find the claw? I've been looking all over for that. xD anyways will do that once the patch that fixes the door is out.
Jiggyfly 10 Jan, 2014 @ 5:48pm
I was wrapped up in this mod like it was a good book. Bravo easier_rider, bravo. I eagerly await more!
easier_rider  [author] 4 Jan, 2014 @ 5:09pm
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Skyrimnut! Turns out there was a glitch that was missed during playtesting that disabled the door if you moved the rings from their original position (which, being already set to the solution, was not something I was accustomed to doing in playtesting). I have fixed the glitch, and will roll it out with the new v1.03 patch in the next day or so.
Skyrimnut 2 Jan, 2014 @ 7:45am
I'm at the tower basement and I have the claw and have turned the rings to match the underside of the claw. The door won't open? Um... unless I'm missing something?
erthminkey 25 Dec, 2013 @ 5:07pm
So i've played through as far as claiming the Grotto, buying some of the improvements, and upgrading the transmuter, and I have to say it is near perfection. The journey to the lost Tower had me on edge the whole time. Beautifully designed & atmospheric. I expected to run into more trouble reaching the Tower than I did, but the tension was high nonetheless. Really impressive attention to detail! The only concerns/criticisms I have are that 1) I would like to have a bridge or some such available when refurbishing the garden; 2) The transmuter, though upgraded, still only produces gold ingots with dwemer oil. Minor issues, really, nothing that would prevent me from enjoying the new domestic HQ. I have yet to explore the Ruined Fane, but I expect no shortage of fun & mayhem. Without question I would rate this mod up again if it were possible. Thanks again E_R, and I hope you're having a great holiday!
erthminkey 12 Dec, 2013 @ 4:29pm
Wow, this was already an excellent mod. I'm excited to explore it all over again!
easier_rider  [author] 12 Dec, 2013 @ 3:00pm
@roberto: yes, all the Dungeons (except the player home) should respawn. If they are not, I may have to fix some things
easier_rider  [author] 12 Dec, 2013 @ 2:59pm
@Gunny: It shouldn't conflict with most of them, unless they heavily modify the cliffs outside of the town (where I have added a small cave entrance), Nelacar's room at the inn (where I have placed some items on his table), or one specific wall in the first area of the Midden (the one where the Draugr is, where I have added a small door). Let me know if you have any issues!
CapKi 24 Oct, 2013 @ 1:32pm
Will this conflict with mods that improve winterhold?
Skyrimnut 30 Sep, 2013 @ 9:26am
Excellent mod. I have difficulty at times trying to determine what part is Vanilla Skyrim and what part is modded, it was integrated very well. Nice player home. Beats the Arch-mage's quarters by a mile!
Onichu 25 Sep, 2013 @ 5:43pm
By the way, do any of the dungeons (besides the hatchery) respawn?
Onichu 25 Sep, 2013 @ 2:25pm
Before I got to finding the entrance to Dark Passage, I was expecting my character to be like, "WHAT? This place didn't have all this when I went looking for the Augur!" However, the integration is flawless so that it's entirely reasonable for people to not notice the expansion at all! Great work!
NukeDukem 18 Aug, 2013 @ 7:58am
This mod is amazing! It's great to see a new dungeon that isn't ridiculous, lore-breaking, or poorly designed... I can honestly say that this is now my favorite dungeon in Skyrim, barring Blackreach! A must have for anyone looking to improve their game world!
easier_rider  [author] 1 Aug, 2013 @ 6:56pm
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, white_lion_25. I haven't played that particular mod, so I'm not sure what it modifies, but I CAN say for certain that my this mod doesn't mess with the trapdoor itself. It may be a conflict with any alterations made to that first dungeon, but who knows. Fix pending...
Mr Snazzy 28 Jul, 2013 @ 11:38am
There is a conflict with wizards of winterhold mod in that the trapdoor to the Midden in the college courtyard disappears if both mods are running, hoping for a fix.....
ghosts and globlins 19 Jul, 2013 @ 6:48am
The first time I came there I taught it was actually part of the game and not a mod. Really, really well done!
Landswimmer 8 Jul, 2013 @ 9:16pm
Great! :D I'm sure they will, it's an amazing player home. I also love how it has a good back story. One thing I did find slightly annoying about the home is that some areas are rather cramped, it's hard to move around and not bump into the objects and have them go flying, other than that I'm loving it and it's been a great addition to my "dark mage" play through. I even used the place able statics mod to add some more stuff to the main room that I found empty but that's just my opinion on it. Anyways thanks again and great mod! :)
easier_rider  [author] 7 Jul, 2013 @ 9:45am
thanks, Landswimmer! i'm working on that right now actually, so stay tuned. hopefully the nexus folks enjoy it.
Landswimmer 6 Jul, 2013 @ 11:02pm
You should upload this to the nexus, or atleast upload a file of it somewhere so that people using the mod manager can easily manage their mods. Either way great mod and I love it.
Bacon Tentacles 28 Jun, 2013 @ 6:22pm
Superb. Very much enjoyed this. A couple of locations that flash when you turn around too fast, and a couple of spots where the floor disappears and you're walking on top of the sky from another part of the worldspace, but all in all a lot of fun. Curious to see what you do with updates.

And second Singing A.I.'s request for a bard college expansion! That place was kind of underwhelming, really...
anvil2011 26 Jun, 2013 @ 12:15am
@easier rider... That is a great idea...just a hidden storeroom from some past era.
easier_rider  [author] 22 Jun, 2013 @ 8:46am
haha oh yeah that thing. yeah, it was something i was working on at the time i published the mod, but i didn't think it fit with the style so i never finished it. it's supposed to be some sort of old college museum room. i will probably finish and add it in v1.01 or v1.02 as a secret area.
SiaMio 21 Jun, 2013 @ 6:40pm
By the way, what's with that one hidden room with a bunch of statues of various creatures? Will this be used in the mod for the future?
Brainstorm 20 Jun, 2013 @ 6:09am
This was amazing, I'm thoroughly enjoying getting lost all over the place. I hope you expand further places (maybe the the Bard's College, or some of the hold keeps?)
#Definitely Not David Bowie 20 Jun, 2013 @ 5:40am
Veryo good mod and I love it. However one hallway in the dungeon seems off and opens up into the gray void lol. I would look for this
Tired Warrior 18 Jun, 2013 @ 12:00pm
I love the midden, great mod. the exploration of the dungeon is brilliant.
Eden 13 Jun, 2013 @ 10:49pm
I love to be a mage so yeah , downloading this now , gonna check
easier_rider  [author] 13 Jun, 2013 @ 5:58pm
thanks for the feedback everyone! glad to see that people enjoyed it. i'm currently working on the first update, which should be released in 2-3 weeks. mostly touch-ups, but also some new stuff as well.
SiaMio 11 Jun, 2013 @ 7:00pm
This was a really well made mod. I thought this was very impressive and I reccomend it to anyone.
Cpt Grumpy 11 Jun, 2013 @ 2:59pm
@Easier_rider well done the Dragonborn is got lost in the Midden ^^ . The next person who want to explore it will only find a skelleton with a Iron helmet XD
Enkidu 11 Jun, 2013 @ 1:02pm
awesome. I remember going through the midden not too long ago thinking "this would be a great place for a house of some type"
dingodog 10 Jun, 2013 @ 8:31pm
A midden (also kitchen midden or shell heap) is an old dump for domestic waste which may consist of animal bone, human excrement, or botanic material.

Midden, midden, midden.
