To anyone suffering from the invisible rifles bug: in my case, the conflict was with the Saya and Ebira mod. Unchecking it solved the problem.

I love this mod it works great as of April 2025. It has no conflicts with mods that add deep ranks to formations and uniform mods!

Ive noticed that some of the rifles look a bit too short, where the bayonet in the animation sometimes doesnt visually stab the target. Is there a fix for this?

Also, sword bayonet infantry (i.e. non-socket bayonet infantry) have their rifle disappear when they engage in melee

I tested Dio's Pectorals methodology (posted on Nov 18, 2022) to see if it worked with DarthMod. His method worked, with some notes:
- Vanilla infantry (ex: Line Infantry, foreign marines, shogunate/imperial infantry, etc.) did have socket bayonets, but the new units (from DarthMod, although this likely applies to any mods that add new units) still had the sword bayonet or katana
- Vanilla units reverted back to their OG unit sizes (ex: in DarthMod on Ultra, Line infantry have 300 men, with this mod it is reduced to 200 men). New units are unchanged.

Sorry for double post so soon. Just to say that my previous post is confirmed. Deactivating every other mod, launching and playing a custom battle then quitting out, reactivating all the mods you like and launching again seems to work. If you deactivate the bayonet mod, you'll need to repeat the process again.
As for the mod itself, the animations look awesome and it seems to function seamlessly once you get it working!

For me this mod isn't working at all. I start my game up and both in the custom battle AND campaign battles there's no bayonets. I'm a little confused by this and if anyone knows what could be happening, I'd appreciate the help.

For me bayonets only show up on some units, for example: Line infantry, white bears, kihetai dont have bayonets but imperial infantry and imperial guard do have bayonets. Is this meant to happen?

Amazing mod! By far the best implementation. Technically the P61 short rifle (the muzzle loading rifle in game) should have a (side mounted) sword bayonet which brought the overall length to the same as the P53 long rifle + socket bayonet.

Is it possible to edit the vanilla models? Theoretically would it be possible to splice the Snider barrel onto the lock/stock of the P61 enfield (creating a standard P53 long rifle)?

I tested both together in some custom battles, because I didn't want to start a campaign and invest hours only for it to crash or be unplayable, and they seemed to be compatible. But thanks for the reply anyway!

On the Workshop page for The_Yogi's "FOTS Tactics and Weapons" mod, they've added a link to this mod. My question is, is the aforementioned mod compatible with this one? I would assume so, since the former has a link to the latter, and from its description, it looks like it. I don't really understand game files and such so I'd just like to double check.

Andrithir, yep, this is the downside on muzzle loading rifles. Even though their stats is the same, firing rate is actually lower

I don't know why, but I think this mod causes US Marines to have a musket reloading animation rather than breach which does slow down their fire rate noticeably. When I turned this mod off, the US Marines were back to their breech loading animation.

This mod might be incompatible with some other re-skin mods.
It doesn't change units stats, no anti-cavalry bonuses added.

Yep, that's possible. It should be done just like with the original units. Check the mod .pack file to see how it's done. It's not that complicated.

Obviously you can run both mods at the same time, there's no problem but bayonets don't apply to new units from the pack (which is obvious, I'm not complaining about it). What I wanted to know if there's any way to make bayonets apply to some of the new units from the pack as well, since the pack also has Darthmod version which makes it so that some new units have bayonets. But because I don't play Darthmod that much I just wanted to know possibility of getting a compatibility patch or anything for vanilla version of the pack (and it also seems bayonets from your mod look much better than those from Darthmod).

I could try to do that compatibility patch, but unfortunately I have almost zero experience with PFM or modding in general :D
