I think I read somewhere that - sometimes - you add features to your mods suggested by your users. So I dare suggest something :-)
I am found of micro management, so a pause each new shift would be of great help. If ever you have time for that, I'd be very happy !

Especially for things like colonists-without-food, this number can increase and decrease very quickly the game may pause tens/hundreds of times as this value increases and then decreases when the problem is fixed.
I think checking for value-is-nonzero should be relatively simple, I'm not sure how easy it would be to record the last-known value for this message type and only pause the game when the value increases, not decrease?
Added mod options for all notifications.
Defaults to only pausing for Critical/Important notifications.
Can stable reproduce this with both mods enabled only.
I have the NASA Education System which creates some new notifications.
