Mod's too old for me to wanna make major changes, but i'll keep your suggestions in mind.
i was aware of the issue with spinal and turreted boosts but i was too lazy to fix it, so i just acted as though it was intended and moved on.
To balance, ( If wanted) Make the blocky engines, cheaper, and the mega engine MUCH cheaper,
OR reduce thrust of feathers
More energy cost for weapon buffs, (Damage mod adds no energy cost, Omega is only about 30%)
omega should be 70% or something high as heck
OR
Make weapon mods slightly lower/ less effective
(Somehow) make it so Spinal buffs cannot be on turreted cannons, That is a thing that is possible, and a cause of balance issues (Re shape cannons so they dont fit?)
Missiles are fine,
Armour is decent, but no shields are balanced by weaponary (Vaguely)
This faction stands as my one and only experiment into cannon boosts. i had a lot of fun, especially with designing and flaunting the Largest ship, Anzu, however it became very apparent that i Cannot Balance Cannon Boosts. as such i never have and probably never will make a faction around them again. i like to think some of my newer mods (especially the WIP ones) are somewhat better balanced, so at least i'm improving. if you wanna know what's up with that, join the discord, i post updates whenever i work on it.
Mobility: 7/10 Average
Armour/Shield: 2/10 Low. Still fails to balance the OP weapons
Overall, Fun and fast paced
Allows Nuke guns

actually, with how the laser wings are currently made, that simply isn't possible. plus, they were meant to be almost entirely cosmetic, so i'm not too comfortable with adding that.

i'll think it over, i will say that it sounds like a good idea. i'll most likely get around to adding it tomorrow, should i decide to do so.
I get that they are suppossed to be a glass cannon faction, but what about having their ship cores project a small shield? It wouldn't break them balence wise, but it would help their smaller ships out a lot, at the moment (partially do to the games A.I.) they barely get a chance to do anything before getting blown up. This is not your fault, rather, this faction suffers from the excact same issue the tinkrell have in the vanilla game when under A.I control. I just think this would not only help out the player in the early game, but give them more incentive to make/use smaller ship designs.
i don't plan to add melee weapons to aivialus, however Vortex does have pretty satisfying melee spikes if you wanna give that a go.
...i think that's just you, although i'm about to update the mod so i'll check it out myself.

This faction holds quite a lot of power within them, as they're meant to be a sort of glass cannon type faction. It's quite easy to just slap a bunch of boosts onto a Cannon and decimate all in your path. My biggest tip for ya is to use your range to your advantage, it's very easy to outrange your opponents.
Also keep in mind that all my other modded factions are hella stronk, so you'll need to exercise a bit more caution with them.
I don't feel that there's a point to that, it's easy to just download em all separately.
Though I must say, they feel way to fragile to not have more readily availible shields of some kind, I can get why you might not want them to have shields, but I could not help but notice that while I was playing around with them, your other mod factions stomped all over them... Just point defense guns destroyed even larger Aivialus ships with ease. (of course Aivialus 10000P+ ships kicked butt, but having to rely on them makes the early-mid game painful as their average ship (0-2000P) just gets insta-gibbed most of the the time by anything with splash damage...
All and all, this mod is gets a 9/10.

as for the warframe bit, while it wasn't intentional i could have very well had picked up a subconcious inspiration, not entirely sure tho.probably coincidence.
as for where i learned to build as well as i did, i have the people at the Reassembly Discord (linked above ^^) to thank, were it not for them i would not have very good feedback or have any where near as much skill as i do that.
so yea, come join the server if ya haven't already/
asymmetrical designs just sorta need to be fine tuned, if you find your ships turns too much one way add thrusters to counteract it, it's just a balancing act.
Just -1 maxChargeTime and a shitload of negative decay (around -100000000000000000) is what i did
