suprised you are still here
Harlequin  [author] 7 Aug, 2022 @ 10:17am
It is and it's kind of crap. I intend to replace it sometime with an improved version but I don't want to piss anyone off by deleting them.
Pure 7 Aug, 2022 @ 7:43am
gee, this is old!

Aight man/madam.
Still, thanks a lot for the great contributions to the workshop!
Harlequin  [author] 17 Mar, 2021 @ 2:57pm
I'm not doing any Bioshock ports in the near future. I have the Splicers in SFM and I might release them if I can get the issues with them sorted but that's your lot.
The Bread Bringer 17 Mar, 2021 @ 2:56pm
Hey there. I'm really glad someone has ported these models. I was wondering if you could port the Bioshock 2 weapons as well. (I really like the fully upgrades shotgun in particular and would love to use it in some animation at some point)
Either way, I'd like to express my gratitude for doing the work hardly anyone else does, unfortunately.
Harlequin  [author] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 4:20am
It's ultimately tiresome as well as funny, because I have to maintain support for this addon via the comments since I have a standard of quality. Even though I consider this abandonware, I still don't know what the future might hold, and as it's my one of my few only currently-published workshop items there's no reason for me to completely ditch it yet, and who knows what future GMod updates might break.

Not only that but if you make a fool out of yourself you deseve to be ridiculed.
lordover1000 10 Feb, 2021 @ 1:28am
I see that there are both types of comments, but if you find it funny, when someone makes a fool out of themselves, why do you complain about it then?
Harlequin  [author] 9 Feb, 2021 @ 6:08pm
I focus on both, if you actually read the comments you'd see me helping people in depth with porting their own content. Not only that, but it is incredibly funny when an incompetent boob makes a fool of themselves. If you really have an issue with my attitude either way, you're welcome not to read these comments yourself or use my addons.
lordover1000 9 Feb, 2021 @ 5:07pm
If you don't have time for petulant comments and demanding fools, why do you answer all of their comments? If I was a Workshop Creator, I would Focus on People who appreciate my work and not on people who aggressively demand more.
Harlequin  [author] 8 Feb, 2021 @ 11:28am
Try having your own content up for seven years, having constant, dozens of comments of that exact sort of abusive, demanding behavior. You will understand why I have no time for petulant comments or demanding fools. I've gone out of my way below that comment to help someone else out create their own content, I'll go out of my way again.

If however you make a comment demanding I make you something - for FREE I might add - I will tell you exactly where you belong. If you really have a problem with that then you are more than welcome to learn how to make your own content, where you will turn into the exact same type of person I have become.

I'll also note I regularly delete even worse comments than Chomsky's on a weekly basis, in batches, so you are seeing a vastly truncated amount of the level of shit I have to sift through.
lordover1000 8 Feb, 2021 @ 11:00am
I'm only here for the mod. The creator is a douchebag
Harlequin  [author] 31 Jan, 2021 @ 7:11am
Bye.
Harlequin  [author] 30 Jan, 2021 @ 10:39pm
Never going to happen. Great (terrible) way to ask, too.
moaning_bear 15 Nov, 2020 @ 1:09pm
ooh hell yeah i always wanted a better look at these.
Harlequin  [author] 27 Aug, 2020 @ 9:54pm
You clearly don't have any understanding of the work that goes into porting models, let alone rigging them for first-person-view and creating SWEPs from thereon out, and your baby-boy attempt at manipulating me with social shame is so legitimately pathetic I actually laughed at you when I read your message. If you think absolutely any addon owner owes you a living and you can shame them into things by saying "I was polite" or "the people demand it" then you are the absolute weakest child going. Don't bother replying to this comment, you'll only embarrass yourself (and your family lineage) further. I'll also delete absolutely anything you decide to regurgitate into text without even looking.
Solis 27 Aug, 2020 @ 9:07pm
For fuck sake. I only said it because I admired your attention to detail and thought you could do a good job. I really like BioShock and I thought you could make some kickass weapons. Sorry. I promise I'll withhold the vote of confidence on you next time. See, this is why I've stopped saying things politely online. Because when people actually DO acknowledge it, I get shit like this.
Harlequin  [author] 27 Aug, 2020 @ 10:45am
What part of your mind sees a MODEL created by someone who only has MODELS in their workshop, nearly ten years ago, and goes "They must be holding back on us! They must be hiding the secret SWEPS! The precious SWEPS! SWEPS! SSSSS! SWEPS! GIVES US THE SWEPS!"?
Solis 27 Aug, 2020 @ 6:16am
The people want SWEPS. Please!

Thanks for the information!

I actually prefer your version to the in-game "worldmodel".

I really like how your Bioshock props look, and you certainly did a great job on them!
Harlequin  [author] 1 Mar, 2018 @ 11:37am
Some of them also have seperate worldmodel versions, and NPC model versions as the NPC models differ in places. The Tommy Gun has no stock and foregrip, for example, in the NPC version, and the pistol is significantly smaller and lower-poly even than the player's worldmodel version in the NPC version.
Harlequin  [author] 1 Mar, 2018 @ 11:35am
They're all used from the viewmodels where it was possible. However this was produced using a less-precise version of UModel that distorted the weapon models significantly and while I did my best they ended up a bit warped in places. I think I have a fixed version somewhere but I can't get to it at the moment. Your best bet in regards to fixing its length is to use the Resizer tool available on the workshop to contort it into the proper shape.
1953 Farmall Super C 1 Mar, 2018 @ 8:45am
A question, regarding the shotgun:

Was the "viewmodel" or the "worldmodel" used to put the shotgun prop together, or are they the same thing, even?

I'm just wondering, because the barrel on this one appears to be a bit shorter than other images for the weapon that I have seen (when searching for them online). Maybe the other images had been distorted somehow. Either way, I like your version a lot better, as it seems to be the "proper" length, and it is a lot more balanced-looking. Still curious as to whether this is the "canon" length for the shotgun.

I really love these props, you did a great job on them! I think that the first "Bioshock" has some of the coolest weapon designs ever used in a videogame (particularly the "base" shotgun), and as such, they are severely under-rated. I don't get why more games don't use "antique" or "classic"-style weapons, as I find these to be so much cooler and more interesting than generic "modern" or "military"-style ones.

plz im a big fan of bioshock just make the weapons from bioshock 1 plz

akers ... are you fucking retarded theres a million other mods for those weapons you fucking idiot

Harlequin  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 5:37am
Also note that most of Bioshock 1's assets look like garbage. I love the game's aesthetics and I love the game itself, but the assets are all very wonky and only work as a result of clever direction and shader tricks.

All these issues are why I didn't port more stuff from it. I have a bunch of unreleased items and stuff I need to upload at some point, but they need tweaking and I'm lazy. All the best with your own efforts.
Harlequin  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 5:37am
To clarify, Gildor's forums have a guide on how to port stuff from Bioshock. All the main game items can be found in the ShockGame.u file in the system folder, everything else is in the maps files. It's a HUGE pain in the ass because you have to go through every level to find what you need. Because of the way Unreal works, the levels use cross-package loading. So-- for example, you can find the plasmid container model in the Welcome to Rapture file, but the texture for it is in the Medical Pavilion file.

Not only that but Bioshock's tacked-on texture streaming (which works like crap in-game and actually reduces performance, for the record) means that you have to do a lot of file finagling to get the full-size textures instead of 64x64 placeholders.

Thanks!
Harlequin  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 5:16am
UModel by Gildor. The means of extracting Bioshock files in specifics are somewhat complicated and a huge pain in the ass, part of why I haven't done many ports. I intend to port the Bioshock Remastered weapons when the program is updated, but right now only the original Bioshock is supported.

http://www.gildor.org/en/projects/umodel
If you need help, feel free to send me an add, but it's pretty straightforward.
ElBiggativeOne 13 Nov, 2016 @ 3:58am
Were you the one who ported these? If so, with what program did you extract the Bioshock game files?
XxNoScopeMLGXx420 23 Oct, 2016 @ 4:20pm
i did but they only ad a whrench and a drlii but if smeone makes the weapons that will be awesome
Harlequin  [author] 23 Oct, 2016 @ 4:01pm
I'm not gonna make them. Other people have already ported them elsewhere, just look around.

Harlequin  [author] 29 Jun, 2015 @ 12:09am
No. I tried, but some of them are not available within the pack files. I'd rather not do a port overall than do a crappy or incomplete one.
Porn Terrorist 28 Jun, 2015 @ 11:39pm
I'm just wondering, but could you get the weapon models for Bioshock 2?
Knrboy 20 Aug, 2014 @ 6:01pm

Harlequin  [author] 20 Aug, 2014 @ 5:58pm
