Heads-up: I don't need to join your paragraph of friends.

Cleaned this text up, aka, got rid of it entirely.
I suppose i don't really need to say much of anything about myself. If you are here, you already made something up.

Overall, OMORI is a kind-of a gem, or in other words, a ride that deserves it's spot of "Top 3 of Psychological Horror", despite the horror factor not being constant. It's a rough diamond, but easily a must-play if you haven't seen *any* spoilers before stumbling here. It's perfect if you waltz in blind.

No, it's not Undertale, and i know that it's promotion (and some of the early-game, be that with Something or... anything else) makes it seem childish. It isn't that.

It's a generally well-written game with a quite likeable cast, making you feel bad for said cast, it has room for interpretation and discussion, nice art, good music, interesting-ish plot, pretty high attention to detail, leitmotifs that count as detail, foreshadowing, and memorable events of a variety. Basic things being complimented as if they were unique, i know, but the game just does well in all aspects.
When it hits a peak, it hits a peak. The moments where the game is at it's best are just perfect.
All of that meshes together pretty well.

A bit of the type where the player would wish to lose their memory to re-experience it, but that's consistent about everywhere.

The large amounts of good is dulled and dented by a few things, one of the more apparent issues being the *slow* beginning the game has, along with non-excellent pacing on some other parts, which causes people to say that the entire game feels like a slog. I didn't really notice that, aside from minor annoyance during some parts that people generally liked, which is... funny? Sort-of?

Shouldn't forget about the issues that rise if you aren't bent towards what the game wants you to feel, or just having a distaste towards a few aspects. (However, that applies in a lot of media.)
Though, as you somehow will not notice any of the mild issues and inconsistencies that don't change much (if you even realise they exist, that is), you'll be fine, because there is stuff to awe over. As i said, the game's a ride, and besides, most people weren't bothered by it at all.

Ignoring the last (negative-ish) part, it's certainly one of the better games that i have played recently, maybe ever. The positive traits make up a great game, which... well, obviously has something to do with the Overwhelmingly Positive ratings and some people describing it to be life-changing. I don't know if the game is "lighting caught in a bottle", but some feel like it is. The negative traits or issues don't ruin it, but you can easily have an issue with them.

There's a reason that i kind of had an obsession with the game (Or "brainrot"), as have other people, despite some of the things that i had disliked. I won't actually mention them particularly, because, in-case somebody actually reads this, their experience could be tainted.

Also, maybe ignore that about... 36~% of the players reached the ending, i can't say how or why. Seems to be consistent across various titles, such as Celeste, SIGNALIS... so-on.

And... that's it. Feel free to ask questions, as the comments are not locked.
Maybe look at the other positive reviews of the game if you want to. Negative ones also tend to lead too heavily into negativity, so it would be hard to find a balanced take.

Alright, have a good day.

100th comment:

Regarding you two, Noka and Gitbox, uhm... thank you both for being present here. Former's presence is quite nice, and the latter... again, i have no clue who you are, but your whole fighting here is quite heartwarming, in all honesty. Bad with words for once...

So, thanks, again.

Regarding Pax, maybe he was traumatized by something? Would explain his obsession with all of *this*.

Or maybe he read a few amateur fics from AO3, and... was inspired.
Wouldn't surprise me.
