From several comments around the internet, my guess is that it is a problem with the game rather than the scenario as it works fine for me and several others to select and host this map. I hope it will be fixed in the next patch!

To make this work offline I would need to make a custom AI script, which I don't know anytthing about unfortunately.

The gates in this game are bugged and will recieve infinite HP if their HP is altered with triggers. The game engine can only change stats of already existing objects, so there is no way to change stats continuously of an item if an upgrade is available in a looping trigger. The map lagg probably has to do with your connection or some new patch for aoe2HD, since it didn't lagg back when I used to play online.

Hey! It sure is very difficult for humans, but that is sort of the point of the scenario. You need to be quick with getting your defences up! I did make a new version of this scenario but it got some bugs with the 3.8 patch I believe it was that was not fixable. The new version have much faster villagers at the start. Zombies are fast and strong, basically, they're undead, right? What I usually do as human (works almost every time) is to try to get the blacksmith and university tech upgrades quickly at the store, and then go for +200 tower AP as soon as possible. It's also necessary to have several bases to be able to farm enough resources as fast as possible for the upgrades!

The stats on the longbow is what it starts with, the only upgrades that you can buy for it are the 250 AP and 10k HP upgrades.

Revealed, so that you easily can locate a good base to settle down in, but not all visible, then the Zombies will see everything :)

For some reason i was unable to transfer files to other people. Tried rehosting, quitting game, nothing seemed to work. My brother hosted and it worked fine for him and them for me after...weird. but all working now and playing!

It does work with HD Edition. Make sure you are playing multiplayer and select zombies correctly.

Hi chriselbatal! Glad you liked this scenario! I am working on an updated version of Zombies Awakening. It's difficult to come up with an original idea for a map like this and make it good (especially with the limits of this games editor). There are already plenty of scenarios with similar ideas. Anyone can change the layout of this map though, just as long as you don't touch the stores or middle part of the map since that's where all the triggers are firing. I have been working on improving the concept behind this map since 2010, and I keep getting new ideas I want to add! :)

theres a glitch that when i choose a zombie a few seconds later the game end and the zombie player gets kicked

Player 1 will select Zombie at the start of the game in the bottom corner. First he will select how many zombies (1 out of 2) with the unit that says First Zombie. Then he has to put the unit in the spot for the player he wants to be zombie. When both Zombie selectors are gone the game will start (Second selector will disappear when choosing to play with only 1 zombie)

Another note: This scenario was designed for the original Age of Empires 2, and not the HD Edition! The original map was released several years ago probably around 2009 IIRC. Feel free to add/PM me if you want to play!

@FUHRD_Team4star: The current health system is designed to not cause any issues or problems. If I were to add HP to the units original HP instead of the current, the units would automatically die when reaching 30 000 HP. This is a game engine issue and nothing I can do anything about. Another problem with adding HP to the original HP is that they wouldn't receive the correct amount if they were wounded already. If the unit had 500/1000 and I wanted to add 1000 more, it wouldn't be 1500/2000, more like 1000/2000 (I don't know exactly how the system works since I prefer to add HP to their current HP which does not cause problems like these)

IMO, the Zombie is a bit too weak! I usually kill the Zombie too easily in the start, but it is very dependant on how you build and how much experience you have with similar maps. I feel the Zombie has a nice balance ATM of being both over-powered and under-powered.

@Voodoo Pieces: It's a multiplayer scenario. Player 1 must select who will be the zombie at start, and then the others will receive their villagers. The scenario is not playable in single player (yet?) since there is no AI scripted for computer players in this map. If someone wishes to create an AI script to be able to play this map single player, be my guest! I would love to see an AI actually being able to play this. But I don't know much about AI scripting, it's a completely different world than just creating hundreds or thousands of triggers for a normal multiplayer scenario.

I did create another zombie scenario a few years ago, sort of like L4D, but more RTS-feel rather than FPS. Also, you should check out Silent Evil created by a few friends of mine. It's about zombie survival RPG created by some fellow members from Black Forest Studios.

not too mention the bugs it kicks me out around 4 mins after i get villagers so I havent met a Zombie yet but you have clearly shown that a zombie AOE spin off can be done and thats just LOL

I would have to agree with voodoo. Feels unfinished. The health upgrade should upgrade max health not current, and if possible the upgrades should persist through new units. And in my opinion the initial zombie just feel kind of to strong and has no need to buy the weaker versions thus starving out the prey. this is just my opinion though

Is it possible that you can make a PvE version of this? Or any PvE version of a zombie survival?
