It kind of works if loaded first (bottom of the list), so essentials can fix the inventory glitch, you will get 10 and 2 but for fame only 1 from wheat I have noticed.
Don't know why there are files in this mod that break players inventory layout!
(I made a mod by myself but I would have a question to you, would be nice if I could contact you somehow)
I don't wanna have to play through the game 10000 times to "experience everything", so having more skills and perks is a good thing. Combined with General Passives, I feel like I have the "right number" of gains per level.
Different strokes for different folks.
That does not take into account modded classes that add extra skills per page (I've seen some with the whole page full, so 36 skills total). It also doesn't take into account things like the General Passives, which adds a page with 12 skills that are all about adding base stats to the character. Lots of ways to spend points and play in harder difficulties like the Apocalypse mod (easiest settings on that mod is like Elite in normal).
Standard character classes have 3 skill windows, each have 3 passives and 7 actives. That's 10 skills per windows, 30 skills total. Max ranks in skills are 15.
Maxing everything on a character would take 450 skillpoints.
Normal game gives 100 character levels and 33 Fame levels. This is 133 skillpoints. You can only max almost 9 skills with that, not quite a whole windows of skills.
This mod gives 200 character level skillpoints and 99 fame skillpoints. That's 299 skillpoints total. You can max almost 20 skills with that, almost two windows. Still not all of them.
Yeah this type of mod is incredibly easy to do. The whole reason I made it was my pre-GUTS mods would not work. Keep plugging away at GUTS, the more people we have working on it the more we will figure out and the better for all of us.
Cheers.
I have created a new mod that gives you 10 stat points at level up and NO ADDITIONAL skill points when you level/get enough fame. It is called Just Stats and it should help make the game a bit more balanced. Hope this helps.
Cheers
I was looking for this mod as well, since GUTS came out none of them worked. So I figured I'd download the editor, read the wiki and try it. It's actually very very VERY easy to mod this type of thing. If anyone is interested go to Library, Tools, then Torchlight GUTS and install it and you are set.
The more peeps we have working on it the more we can learn about the sytem.
Cheers
Yup fame gives you three skillpoints, I updated the description because I kinda like it. Makes FAME actually something I look forward to earning. Thanks for the heads up!
That's odd, I originally had FAME set to three points but I was sure I reduced it to two. And I was sure I was only getting two from fame as well when I played... I will do some more testing.
BTW, I'm glad your name is Legion and not Lesion [shivers] did a double take for a second.
It does not, this is a simple one to use for starting players. If you want to use it with an existing player, I suggest you download a leveling mod to boost your level past 100. In this way you can take full advantage of the additional levels. Also, if there is interest I can increase the skill points and stats points if needed...however I feel two is just close enough to the line of being too OP, and 10 stat points is right at the line as well.
Also, this works great with Synergy and should not conflict with any other type of mod. It will also work with modded characters as well (i.e. Necro, Paladin, etc.).
