@NvMe 令 had the mission already loaded when installed the mod. Cause if it's already rolled all the details for the mission. like what enemies will be there and how many, then it can't do anything
NvMe 令 30 Nov, 2024 @ 7:33pm
by the wayt, this mod DOES not work in 2024, checked the shadow chamber for a surgical mission and it still stayed the same, if the author wanted people to donate him cash he shouldve made working mods
Lux Manifestus 6 Oct, 2024 @ 10:12am
FYI, I got a message on game load that this is incompatible with The Ethereal Restoration: Extended.
Jamie A. Rose 6 May, 2022 @ 12:27am
Should have made a mod that removes surgical entirely, that would have been more useful.
BigMitchy 21 Dec, 2021 @ 8:34pm
@TatlTael do you have an increase pod size mod?
Riekopo 19 Dec, 2021 @ 4:03am
does it need updated?
TatlTael 8 Dec, 2021 @ 8:07pm
Doesn't seem to be working for me. Just played a surgical mission today and the first pod I encountered contained an Andromedon and two Codices. I installed this mod mid-campaign, but not mid-mission.
XpanD 27 Aug, 2021 @ 8:10am
Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.
Psykrom 28 Mar, 2021 @ 9:15am
First Surgical I did yesterday spawned a spectre, fire viper, another viper, 3 advent troopers and a spark. Tried two times to tackle them, but each time one of my soldiers got nocked out andcloned, it was time to gg.

I've been only using a better advent, but they already do a fine job in kicking my XXX, I am not sure if the troops mentioned amounted to two pods. Anybody knows? :2018saliengoo1:

@Artek [General] yeah sorry my bad, idk how but i mixed this up in my head with the 'no low profile' mod i have and my brain was like "sUrGiCaL, tHaT's NoT mEaNt To eB ThErE"
Artek [General] 6 Sep, 2020 @ 9:02am
This mod is not meant to remove Surgical as a sit rep. It simply fixes an issue where enemies continue to spawn in "normal" numbers making the mission impossible and forces the enemy pods to spawn appropriatly reduced amounts of enemies that could be fairly tackled by your reduced squad.
BigMitchy 6 Sep, 2020 @ 8:55am
i just got a guerilla ops mission with surgical, idk if this mod is bugged for some reason or what
Artek [General] 28 May, 2020 @ 12:29am
You could try to just cheat your way out of it via console.
White Rabbit 27 May, 2020 @ 9:00pm
Sucks that I'm forced to download other mods just to use this. I'm in the middle of a L/I campaign and don't want to risk messing anything up just to fix the surgical sitrep bug.
GargakOfTheEast 10 Feb, 2020 @ 9:52pm
Dude thank you so much.

I did not have this mod installed, and I learned the hard way that Surgical was bugged. It said "skeleton crew", but I guess they meant a mastodon skeleton.

I lost two of my best soldiers, and my Reaper was the sole survivor. It got down to just her, with no Shadow charges left, and a lone ADVENT Priest cat-and-mousing each other on the map.

She missed her overwatch, he went for mind control (would have been game over), she resisted mind control, flanked him and killed him.

Talk about "skin of your teeth." Never again! Thank you :)
Iridar 27 Dec, 2019 @ 1:37am
Thanks, the mod worked even after mission was already created.
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 21 Nov, 2019 @ 6:33am
@F23 it can only work if the aliens have not been calculated/precached yet, which is only the case if you dont have the shadow chamber built and are still on the world map.
Artek [General] 21 Nov, 2019 @ 4:38am
I don't think so, no. You'll have to cheat your way through, or skip the mission.
You are still welcome to try, might work.
F23 21 Nov, 2019 @ 3:11am
is this save game compatibile like so if surgical just spawned for me will it get changed when i launch the mission?
Tim_ 8 Oct, 2019 @ 5:25pm
I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. I completed no surgical missions in this campaign so never witnessed its impact, but I can report the mod is still stable in a large mod list campaign,
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 6:13pm
If you have the shadow chamber an the enemies are displayed, its probably too late, yes.
Artek [General] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 4:01pm
Problem: the mission is already created and has 18 enemy units in it.
(Its on geoscape, but i didn't send out soldiers yet).
Am i just fucked then? There's no way to go back now?
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 3:59pm
The mod should enforce 2 unit pods. It alters the pods on mission creation, as far as I know pod size mods typically only edit ini files, so it should work as intended.
Artek [General] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 2:18pm
So... Okay. How exactly does this mod conflicts with mods like increased pod sizes and such?
Will it force the default enemy pod values, or?
Because i'va ran into this annoying sitrep in my increased units playthrough (9 soldiers in my squad in late game, enemy pods are increased by 50%).
Its literally unwinnable in the current condition. If this mod enforces the pod size - i might be able to beat it.
If not, and it either conflicts badly or worse yet - it still gets multiplied by 50% too (which means +1 enemy for every 2-unit pod) there is no other choice for me but to skip the mission.
Dragon32 18 Apr, 2018 @ 11:18am
@Inaire777:
When a mission appears with the Surgical SitRep you can only bring 3 soldiers. The enemy count is supposed to be reduced so it's not impossible. The reduced enemy count doesn't always happen. This mod makes sure it does.
Inaire 18 Apr, 2018 @ 6:50am
Can you explain the bug a little more i dont know what this fixes? I haven't been playing xcom2 very long. I did just take out my first avator facility :/ was a pain I'm playing on a harder difficulity.
Cahos Rahne Veloza 10 Mar, 2018 @ 2:43pm
Just had my first "Cut Sitrep" mission which means the edit I did in the .ini file did work. And it worked mid campaign to boot as well :)
Cahos Rahne Veloza 10 Mar, 2018 @ 4:46am
Okay, I'll test them out :)

Again thanks for the assistance.
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 10 Mar, 2018 @ 4:24am
@Cahos you can try, but I dont know if they are fully implemented and not buggy (there is also a mod that adds them back in)
Cahos Rahne Veloza 10 Mar, 2018 @ 3:51am
@LEB:

Thanks, now to get rid of that annoying Low Profile Sitrep and exchange it with something better like the "Black Ops" one which I feel is the Devs attempt at acknowledging this neat Basegame mod:

Squad Concealment ---> http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=623155292&searchtext=squad+conceal

Lastly, can I also add a few more of the cut Sitreps with this method? I'd also like to try the Ambush, Phalanx, Advanced and Acid Pools ones as they sound cool :)
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 10 Mar, 2018 @ 3:24am
@cahos yes you can, just copy the line over and remove the semicolon ;). Both files work exactly the same way, only difference is tha XComGameData is generated by the game and therefore stuff that is commented out via semicolon is missing.
Cahos Rahne Veloza 10 Mar, 2018 @ 2:51am
@leb:

I found the entry Alex Nares noted on the my documents version of the XComGameData.ini but it doesn't contain the other Sitreps found on the install folder one and I don't know how I should edit it. On the .ini in the install folder Alex said to comment out the Sitreps you don't want (like Low Profile) by adding a semi-colon (;) in front of the Sitrep you don't want, so is that how I should also do it? Also the other Sitreps the devs took out aren't in the my documents folder version, so can I just add 'em in that way.
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 9 Mar, 2018 @ 10:20pm
@cahos yes, just use the XComGameData.ini instead
Cahos Rahne Veloza 8 Mar, 2018 @ 4:08am
@Alex Nares:

Isn't there any similar .ini settings file I can edit in the username\my documents config folder? I'm only asking because I kinda feel unsafe editing the file you mentioned found in the game's installation folder.
Luke Danger 6 Mar, 2018 @ 7:20pm
Ah, that would actually explain quite a bit; I use RealityMachina's SITREP restoration. In that case I would say you don't have to, but thank you for the answer. :)
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 6 Mar, 2018 @ 7:19pm
Fireteam is a SitRep that is not active by default, so you may have used a mod to activate it. I guess i could include it however.
Luke Danger 6 Mar, 2018 @ 2:17pm
Question - is there supposed to be something similar for Fireteam? Because I once had such a mission and had to deal with eleven enemy units (four pods), including a Sectopod, four Andromedons, two Archons, a Heavy MEC, a Stun Lancer, and a Purifier escorting an ADVENT General. Was one hell of a mission (amazingly I got off with only one injury), but if it's supposed to be a smaller number of units you may want to look at that too.
cb6dba 5 Mar, 2018 @ 1:03am
I hate these missions. So far I have only had to do one (due to the dark event behind it), I took a reaper and 2 good sharpshooters.

Was still a pain in the ass but I can't see any other classes surviving the mission.
Alex Nares 4 Mar, 2018 @ 5:06am
For those saying "there should be a mod to remove [whatever] sitrep"... You can block sitreps from appearing in the DefaultGameData.ini file. Look for this section of code:

[XcomGame.X2SitRep_DefaultSitReps]

Just put a ; in front of whatever Sitreps you want to deactivate.

You'll notice some Sitreps are deactivated by default... The devs had some additional Sitreps planned for the game, but ultimately had to deactivate them due to instability issues. Re-activate them at your own risk... There is actually a mod that lets you re-activate some of these with minimal issues, but I don't remember the name of it.
Grugg 4 Mar, 2018 @ 3:23am
4rrakis - Oh yeah, that makes sense. I guess I don't need this mod then, haha.
Dragon32 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:22am
Thanks for the fix, LeaderEnemyBoss!
4rrakis 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:14am
Actually there are no surgical missions with ABC+, because that mod deactivates that SitRep. At least that is what the ABC+ mod page says.
Grugg 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:03am
I think I've only had one low profile mission. Problem was I only had high level soldiers and rookies, so had to send the rookies. Equipped all of them with exo suits and nuked the battlefield lmao.

Anyway, great mod. I play with ABC+ so without this fix, surgical missions would be basically impossible I reckon.
LeaderEnemyBoss  [author] 3 Mar, 2018 @ 11:46pm
The only SitRep that I remember that limits your rank is "Low Profile" and it limits rank to Sergeant. Maybe you misremember, or you have a modded SitRep in your game. Anyway, removing Sitreps is easy if you know where it comes from, can be done via .ini-edits.
Haybusa 3 Mar, 2018 @ 10:57pm
There should be a mod that removes the "only rookies can be sent" sitrep. It's just a sitrep I don't really understand, sometimes a mission would have something I need but it's negated with that sitrep.
