This mod is really great for removing the annoying starting techs from FU. (I never use the dash abilites as they constantly get me killed)

What is the ID for the "No more!" side-quest?
I'd like to try and remove it from my player file so I can uninstall w/o issues, but I don't know what it is.
EDIT: nvm, found the ID; it was "notech".

I honestly had difficulty believing some people want the game to be easier. But then I looked around online and found out some people out there buy games, enable a lot or all cheats, and that's the only way they play the game... I found this a bit weird.

Have you considered making it it's own separate quest from Elliott so that it doesn't have to rely on the first quest?

I guess it doesn't matter since the command for it is there.

Yep! I wasn't sure how to just give techs to players, so I hooked in a little dummy quest that relies on the completion of the first tech quest to activate. (I never thought about anybody skipping the first tech quest.)

Not entirely.
/enabletech techname
(walk, singlejump, noSphere) will still work, thus this mod remains applicable even with.
You are right though that this mod's "mission" won't work with skip tech tutorial mod. :lunar2019coolpig:

How did I not find this sooner. A whole year of wanting this and I still didn't find it until now. No more flying off of buildings at the speed of light, no more hitting my head on ceilings, no more accidents tech wise at all. Thank you.

Is it the sphere tech in general or just the notech for the head slot?

I've never heard of this breaking anything. It simply adds a new "quest" that can be used to grab "techs" that are completely unresponsive. I don't think it CAN break the sphere tech.

Worst case scenario, you can just /admin and then /enabletech whatever you need.

And you are correct. ALL clients AND the server must have this installed. Otherwise people will be kicked the moment they come onto the same planet/starship as the person using the noTech.

Ok, it's actually fine. I just realized that most jumps are over 3 blocks, and the walking mechanic would make the game so hard.

Well, I'm not currently accepting ideas. (Kinda buisy with not-starbound game stuff)
Pretty certain somebody already has something with the jump... but the run is uniqe as far as I've heard.

Ideas:
Realistic Jump:
Making people jump more realistic on space since 2018. (Leg Tech)

Realistic Run:
Making people run more realistic on space since 2018. (Body Tech)

What they do:

RJ makes you jump only about 3 blocks in the air, and makes it so when you're out of your mech in space biomes, there's gravity. On the moon, it does nothing.

RR makes it so when you're walking, you regen energy quicker, but the normal speed (not holding shift) makes you lose energy slowly.

@Madalovin without reference to what races in specific, i do not have particular belief in your statement. the dash or sprint can be activated by double-tapping A or D, the sphere by pressing F, and the jump tech by pressing SPACE while in the air. Grantedly, there are some techs that may use different keybinds, but none should be interfering with normal movement. as a matter of fact, they typically don't 99.9% of the time. otherwise, there's a hiccup in the code. unless, however, there is a specific note in the subscribable item, in this case it's the mod, that specifically says that it changes things up to make it like that. but i still fail to logically find truth in your statement in any way, shape or form, especially since i'm not supplied with specifics, references, or any other tools like that. a claim with absolutely nothing to give it structure is what i see.

@theskyarmyfox there are some modded races that involve techs that do stuff just via basic movement.
This mod is to, yaknow, make it to where you can't trigger them.
Saying "You can just not use the techs" is as ignorant as saying "You can just ignore combat".

i was just saying, too, though. i'm one of those that has omega techs, and my mobility is almost limitless. to be honest, i find it ironic that i'm even commenting.

@TheSkyArmyFox Eventually, if you dislike the techs, they'll get in the way. You could ignore them, but if you really want them gone, this mod is for you. The double jump gets in the way of my grappling and the dash gets in the way of my combat.
This mod wasn't made specifically for no-tech runs. It was made so I can turn my techs off in general. :3

you could just *not* use the techs for that while... that's another option. that makes 3 options total: the mod, not doing tech quests, and completely ignoring the fact they're even there.
