im curious, I'm basically just looking for an "original ai" that will actually use the higher population settings, not a killer ai...the upgraded from HD already is fine for my taste, I really don't like to play intense rts games anymore, just like to chill with em, cept when I watch the AI's bash each other :).

Do you have any idea why Persians wont create their unique units? I would love to play against hordes of war elephants but the AI is not creating them

Original AI is the AI that came with the CD version of Age of Empires II. I did not participate in the creation of the Original AI; it comes with the game thus it's made by the developers of AOE II. If you'd like to learn more about the Original AI, I suggest you search it up on the AOE2 wiki or something similar of the sort.

Now for the second part of your question..
I won't be changing the name of my AI. I'm sorry if you confuse it for the regular AI.

Also this has 2 AI choices, one called Ordinary and the other called Original, whats the difference? And.. if its not too much trouble, can you give them an intimidating name instead pwease..? So far it feels like a trick to choose them thinking it was the games usual ai

In terms of pressure, yes the AI won't stop playing until it's mostly destroyed.

The AI's cheats are dependent on the difficulty it's set on (the AI doesnt cheat on difficulties Easy & Easiest, and barely cheats on Moderate). As the difficulty scales, the AI cheats more often. I don't think my AI cheats as often as other cheating AI's out there, but it's certainly a challenge to try and beat it on your own (definitely doable though).

How much does it cheat? If I play against this will I even stand a chance? If I start winning will it keep the pressure up and never stop until the its building is gone?

I am currently reworking the way the AI builds ships.

It barely builds ships at all. I doubt it buy from the market either.
And at some point, it simply stops producing farms, killing its food econ.
Too bad, it performs well until that point.
And its different army compositions depending on civ is interesting.

LudiKRIS is too big of a map for the AI to handle. I'm sure the AI couldn't exactly pinpoint where you and your allies were on the map. (Try playing on Giant and less)

OK maybe there was another problem, AI now trains their unique units!

But, I've just played a game on medium difficulty with a Ludikris Map size; Continents; 3 AI players vs. 3 human players, AI were Huns, Magyar and Mayans... But only one human player has being attacked by only one of the AI's. The other two AI's just produced units which were standing around their barracks.

Why didn't they attack all?

Yes, I believe so. (Just watch out with 90 minutes; the AI will start getting crowded with troops if Population is 400+)

I ran a few tests regarding your problem with the unique units, and everything seems to be fine.

What were your game settings? (If you can remember)

My prediction was that the AI was lacking gold so it trained the cheaper and more affordable troops such as the swordsman and halbs.

I just played three games on hard, but the enemy wont use unique troops.
He just send Two handed swordsmen, Rams and Halbarders.

For the troops, it wouldn't be the most rational idea to have the AI create all available units, due to how certain types of units are notably weaker in certain civilizations. (For instance: Spanish archery, Persian militia, and )

As for technologies, the AI will only research technologies that benefit the three types of troops it trains. Researching all technologies serves no purpose and is a waste of food and gold.

That's a work for DeepMind or OpenAI. Btw this is not deep learning but deep reinforcement learning. Deep learning by itself is not enought to create bots.

No, for two reasons:

1. It's large which can create problems with the AI's town.

2. The Ordinary AI already gives itself a certain amount of resources every minute (On certain difficulties) so having a Feitoria in exchange for 20 population space wouldn't really serve a purpose in my opinion.



(I'll be looking into Feitorias with the AI sometime in the future)
