@Vegex the Dead: The settings screen looks so different now because it previously used HugsLib, which was removed from the 1.6 update.

Did the Interface change in the settings? I don't really use it for organs so much as bionics. Which you should be able to harvest by default imo.. but anyways.

Escape/menu>options>Mod Options>Harvest Organs Post Mortem.
I could have sworn it had sliders, able to set the quality of medicine needed, organ/bionic chance, medical skill needed, etc. Or has it just been so long I've forgotten? For bionics is it now a 0.1(lowest chance) to 1(highest chance). Something feels so out of place I can't make sense of it.

I can't get organs from animals. It strikes me that there are no animals in storage even though I have some.

@Attic Goblin omg thank you, I was already looking at the settings and thought the Corpse Age meant the pawn's age at time of death, not the age of the corpse itself.

@Tatara vanilla 1.6 does not even define organic arms, legs, hands and feet as items, so you can't get them from harvesting organs. EPOE mod defines organic arms and legs items (but not hands and feet), but does not add them to spawnThingOnRemoved of corresponding body part defs, so again you can't get them.

FOR ANYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH ORGANS NOT SPAWNING: In the mod options is "Valid Corpse Age (Measured in HOURS (I think)))". If the corpse is older than the valid time limit, you get nothing, regardless of if it was frozen. You can modify the value to 9999 if desired. I just found this out after experiencing the same issue with corpses in my freezer that were a year old since death. Hope this helps! Also, mod is le epic.

I have tried to do the autopsy and have been successful on removing all organs but they do not spawn anywhere? please help

I would propose a formula such as retrieval_chance=base_chance*(organ_hit_points/base_organ_hit_points)²*(body_section_hit_points/base_body_section_hit_points)²
where:
- organ_hit_points are the actual body part hit points
- base_organ_hit_points are the standard hit points of the replaced body part (e.g. a normal spine for a bionic spine)
(organ_hit_points/base_organ_hit_points)² would exponentially decrease or increase the chance to retrieve the organ based on how sturdy it is, and should be 1 for implants or extra limbs. That will probably be the hardest values to handle or retrieve.
- body_section_hit_points are the hit points of the body section that is either the whole leg (including foot), arm (including hand), torso or head
- max_body_section_hit_points are the maximum hit points of the body section


The second "²" may be removed in order to make external damage less impactful if the internal organ is safe.

Another possibility would be to change the probability according to the organ hit points. This would make advanced bionics, that are sturdier, more likely to be recovered, while eyes or lungs have else chance to survive an explosion.

I love the mod but it seems a bit too powerful. Maybe decrease the chance to get organs by the damage to the parent body part?

Also, maybe corpses with death acidifier should be treated differently.

Still not working. Tried load order. Tried only loading this mod. It shows the organs as removed post autopsy but they don't spawn as items near the table.

After working out some unrelated issues i've managed to do some testing, and all i can figure out is that for some reason, there are bodies in my freezer with more rot progress than others, and those bodies are allowed to be operated on for organ harvesting without giving any organs, but fresher bodies do give organs. Idk what's failing to prevent the harvesting attempt if they are beyond their allowed time but that's all i figured out so far lol. Way beyond my mental abilities as a mere player. Hopefully that helps someone get closer to the issue of what's going on :3 (And hopefully isn't singularly applicable to me) :alphys:

i've tried moving the order around, without immediate results, but messing around i tried resurrecting someone that didnt give me organs, killing them, then immediately harvesting, and i did get organs. My guess is that for some reason either it isnt pausing the viable timer while the bodies are frozen or they just took too long to get to the freezer, but I would have expected the operation to be invalid if the body had been 'left out' too long? Gonna keep messing around with it though.

changed the mod settings,changed bill settings. Mod need to be re worked. Also make sure you take all pawns clothes off if you get the chance to even harvest anything or else you will get nothing. 9/10 times you can't even harvest the pawn even right after the pawn has been killed.

For some reason this mod has a problem with deep storage that causes the storage options of the respective mod to disappear.

for some reason the mod is conflicting with the anomaly, when I add it and go to play the DLC the pawns don't even appear

I had hoped this would help me remove prosthetics from skeletons I find in ruins, is that something that can be added in the future?

If you have Odyssey installed, you have to load this mod BEFORE Odyssey then it will work. I don't know why.... Also i can't input decimal values in the mod options, i had to edit the config file in AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config to set the values. And third if the corpse has gear equipped the pawn will perform the autopsy but only unequips some gear. Then the autopsy is started again... this repeats till no gear is equipped and then organs are harvested. Hope this helps iron out the bug and others to play

Okay, so I've been playing with Odyssey and for some reason when the autopsy bed is facing horizontally it wont harvest any organs, idk if its just me or anyone else havin this sorta problem, well that kinda fixed it for me. Also moved it to the top along with hugslib and didnt work until i flipped it vertically, so yeah.

What Jano said helped me as well! BTW make sure to not misread the numbers if you encounter the "I get no organs" issue. In the settings the "Time" numbers correspond to *HOURS* not Days or anything. (I totally didnt spend half an hour due to that error in reading comprehension)

But yeah what fixed it for me was moving Hugslib all the way up and putting this mod right below it. The only one above them is Vanilla Backgrounds Expanded, seems to be working without issue now.

Realized i got no organs at all from surgery, went to mod options and changed organ harvest chance to 1 (it was 0.95), this corrected the error

Had the same issue with no organs being harvested. Loads of mods installed, including bunch of VE.
Moved this mod at the very top of the list (first one below HugsLib, and HugsLib is first one below DLCs) and it fixed the issue for me.

No organs could be due to a few things:

Corpses have been left out too long and organs are no longer viable. (You can adjust this duration in the options.)
Doctor skill along with random chance for the operation you have picked isn't being kind to you. (You can adjust the random chance roll in the options too.)

You have a mod conflict. (You'll have to do what the rest of us do and remove groups of mods until it works. Then add mods back in slowly until it doesn't work to narrow down which one is conflicting and causing problems.)

Also getting no organs even while they appear as "removed." Also looks like every time I do it, every possible organ is remove, as long as they're not damaged or missing (no head so no brain)

I stopped harvesting for organs and only harvesting for bionics, and I think that's at least working, but I also suddenly have a couple random organs floating around my storage now xD I didnt change my mods at all, just was going to accept not having a thriving black market organ redistribution franchise. This is both amusing and confusing lol

So, it looks like one of three mods: VE - Genetics, VE - Android, or VE - Perry Persistent. After removing those, I spawned in a new pirate, murdered him, and when using 'Medically Extract Organs' with .99 chance it extracted organs.

That one is odd. I also have VE mods installed including Vanilla Expanded Apparel and I'm not seeing that happen.

I have Harvest Organs early in my list of around 200 mods and the VE mods about halfway through, so possibly load order matters?

It might also be another mod that is trying to change something about jobs in general. I also have While You Are Nearby and While You're Up and they're working fine as well. So I'm not sure what it might actually be offhand. (But there are likely to be dozens of mods that tweak jobs in various ways)

It might just come down to the debugging and removing large groups of mods until it works and then put them back slowly until it breaks again to narrow it down.

It _looks_ like it might be some odd interaction with one of the VE mods blocking the dropping of organs? I'm doing some re-verify and un/reinstalls to see if I can narrow things down.

I had something similar @Subita but no harvest loop, it just said the body had all the organs harvested, but there were 0 organs that showed up. I haven't figured out if its this mod or some other random thing, but it does explain why i've had so few this time around xD

Hmm. I'm on a new save, and harvesting organs results in the corpse being stripped, and lying beside the table - med consumed - but no organs and it is still harvestable, so the colonist attempts to harvest the same corpse over in a loop. Any ideas?
