Could have a lot of reasons, you'd need to check the logs to get some sort of direction towards fixing the problem.

something odd i noticed about gatecrasher when i used this mod last night. instead of 2 pods of 3, with the listed enemies, it was one pod of 3, which was the captain/heavy pod, and 2 other pods of 2, both with assorted aba variants (i think one was gunslinger/trooper and the other might have been sniper/trooper. but i'm not sure). is this intended, and one of the potential available spawns for gatecrasher, or is it a bug that i never encountered the medi-drone pod?

ABC mostly changes the main mission path which i believe is kept intact by CI. So i think that should work. Not 100% sure. My suggestion is to sub to ABC first, then CI to give CI priority. If you do use a mod manager with load order, make ABC load first so CI can overwrite what it needs to.

Love the Better series of mods, but now I want to try out Covert Infiltration. Does anyone know if this Better Campaign mod causes any negative issues with Covert Infiltration? Or will it have any effect at all? I'm not sure how much CI changes the campaign aspects of the game. Thanks.

My mods have literally been working for 5+ years across several versions of the game.

At this point, if you get any crashes, it's something else. I'd point you towards help for troubleshooting, but going by your comment it's probably best if you just unsub.

I mean... it's been 2-ish years since i last touched XCOM modding, so i might be misremembering. But i am pretty sure that those files in the My Documents do nothing for you if you edit them.

Hm, don't really have a super-solid idea. Redownloading the mod and refreshing the config should've done the trick already. Check the load orders in AML and make sure that ABC gets loaded late so it can take priority over any conflicts you might still have in your inis.

That part is normal, though. Mods are not combined into those, mod inis are read from their mod folders at runtime.

Okay, I am going nuts trying to figure out why this isn't working.

I am using AML, and have this mod active. It was actually working for a while, but then I decided to change the medical drone in Gatecrasher into an Advent Medic, from the mod of that name. So I changed the file XComEncounters.ini.

When I loaded it, it not only did not add the medic but reverted Gatecrasher to vanilla. I changed it back to the drone - same thing. I unsubscribed and resubscribed to this mod, and updated through AML. Still vanilla.

Then I ran a text search to determine if anything references those pods. In all base game files and installed mods, only DefaultEncounters and your mod does.

I tried deleting XComEncounters from My Documents folders, and ran the game again. Still got vanilla. I deleted all config files, started the game, and checked to be sure they had regenerated. The My Documents folder version had vanilla pods for Gatecrasher.

How do I fix this?

If i understand it correctly, Diverse Alien Pods overwrites all of the "forced" spawns, which are basically what this mod is built around. If you use these together, you might as well unsub from ABCampaign because Diverse Pods should already pull the ABA aliens into the missions.

So my suggestion is to either run both, but keep golden path deactivated in Diverse Pods. Or unsub from ABCampaign and just let Diverse Pods do its thing in full. Either should be fine.

Personally, i would prefer the former option, to preserve the Chryssalid stuff in the Psigate and the Forge Sectopod Prime.

There are no crash bugs in any of my mods left, i am pretty sure of that. If you get a crash on new game, please follow the general troubleshooting instructions, as outlined in the FAQ:

There are no reinforcements on that mission by default. And if they were, they'd be a regular ADVENT pod.

Take it up with whoever made that ability because i would guess that they made it so it draws from anything on the map. :D

Also, did you add the Chryssalid Queen to the mission's list of allowed reinforcement units on purpose? Just curious - also had a baaaad time due to another mod's ability that deals massive damage at the cost of summoning an enemy reinforcements pod - I traded a queen for a queen.

Oooff, I did not realized the lone chryssalids and her queen in Psigate don't scale with force level if you get there early, like I knew the sectopod in Forge does. I hadn't even found any chrys above bleeder yet in the campaign.

Yep, A Baby's Advent does exactly that: It removes the Prime reactions for those unable or unwilling to deal with them

Hello! Are there any mods that get rid of stupid abilities like Archon superiority? I literally had an archon... thing... kill one of my highest ranked soldiers who was under cover with only 2 shots while it was MY turn because for some reason the game thinks it's cool to give this giant beefy thing multiple attacks. It's my turn, I shot at them, a robot got to use smoke cover right after and the archon did 10 damage for free.

They are a mission like any other, so they can in theory be edited. It's just a bit of a balance pain.

I know of one mod that does add new versions of Ambush, "The Hive More", the addon mod for The Hive which makes all kinds of nasty Chryssalids appear on those missions.

Just wondering, is it possible to mod covert opambush, its pretty much the exact same damn mission everytime, same map, same starting position, same vanilla enemy, it’s getting silly doing doing it the dozenth time.

If it crashes on completion, we can at least be sure that this mod isn't to blame.

The only crash on mission completion that i know about would come from a broken class mod (or conflict of class mods) crashing when trying to promote a soldier.

I suggest following general troubleshooting as outlined in my FAQ.

Blacksite mission reliable CTDs on completion (when its loading with xcom icon at bottom right). I'm on Ironman so it somehow keeps reloading the whole mission everytime I lost my game after the crash (done twice now). Is there anything I can do about this or is it a lost campaign?

And do you see ABA specific new enemies in that second mission? Is ABA itself working?

I am asking because the only way i can think of that you game could crash would be due to not finding the enemies that this mod wants to place into Gatecrasher.

I strongly suggest going through the general troubleshooting steps as outlined in my FAQ, especially the ini file refresh.

maybe its a mod conflict, but it seems to work when i uninstall this mod and reinstall it right after gatecrasher
