It would be extremely easy to update this mod, and make it work flawlessly. It would be sufficient to take the updated 00_opinion_modifiers.txt file, delete the violated_tordesillas modifier from it, and overwrite the correspondent file in the mod, which is obsolete. Can the creator of the mod do that, or has he become inactive?

Thank you for this. The way Paradox implemented this feature really makes no sense. The penalties for violation of the "treaty" are far too harsh, and it would be more in keeping with the actual historical event if it just applied to the first two nations to colonize South America. As Bejome pointed out, most of Europe ignored the treaty, even other Catholic nations.

What if it only worked on nations who took exploration ideas during the Age of Discovery bc everyone who wasn't Spain and Portugal didn't give a crap about tordesillas.

this is probably outside of the intion of the mod, and more fitted to be added by paradox themselves, but it'll be nice if you could still trigger the treaty if you are the papal controler or spend a crazy amount of papal influence
