Update: 1 Oct @ 2:41pm

Updated for the latest version.

Due to a bug in this build that prevents factories in immigrant-destination countries from hiring POPs, I’ve temporarily set the assimilation rate to 1 (this does not affect non-homeland regions).

Removed the previously added tributary treaties, as the AI kept breaking them and causing excessive Infamy.

The Qing “Literati” now start as Gentryist and Paternalist. After the Self-Strengthening Movement (Yangwu Movement), these traits are cleared and replaced with Liberal, with an optional branch to choose Constitutionalist or Republican.

Update: 29 Sep @ 2:01pm

- Added special traits for Spain’s Intellectuals, Church, Landowners, Armed Forces, Industrialists, and Trade Unions.

- Added special traits for the Ottoman Armed Forces.

- Added four treaties for the Qing Empire at game start with Siam, Đại Nam, Nepal, and Burma to reflect their historical relations.

Update: 28 Sep @ 3:23pm

- Added a new Great Power bloc for the Qing Empire at game start, named the “Tributary System,” including Burma, Siam, Nepal, Korea, and Đại Nam as members.

- Optimized the “China’s Trade Privileges” journal: it now triggers as long as the country is above a Major Power, and possessing a treaty port in Shengjing also counts towards fulfilling the condition.

- The “Nine-Power Treaty” journal is now more historically accurate: the “Nine-Power Conference” event will trigger for all countries that hold the “China’s Trade Privileges” journal, leading them to sign a guarantee of China’s independence.

- Added two new companies to Japan along with their unique prestigious goods, representing the fishing and shipbuilding industries.

- Improved the conditions for labor contracts: if you need to use a labor contract on a country with closed borders, owning a treaty port there now allows you to bypass the closed borders restriction; however, if you are the one initiating the labor contract, you still cannot have closed borders enacted.
