Update for Reforged Eden 2 Alpha: (Alpha)


Project Eden 2 Alpha:
Current testing needs:
All starting planets and progression through the starting systems.
Planetary and gas giant orbits in habitable, cold, and hot star systems.

Planet types: Temperate, Brooding Temperate, Temperate Rainforest, Strange Temperate, Temperate Plateau, Swamp, Mire.

Starting planets:
  • Updated all starter planets for survival RE2 compatibility (POIs, starting equipment, etc). More tweaking will be needed in the future.
  • Added Tallodar back as a medium sized temperate starting planet. Meant as an alternative to Akua with no missions or story POIs.
  • Updated creative start on Tallodar, Omicron, Roggery, and Ningues.
  • Updated starter planet selection preview images for dedicated servers for all planets. Please let me know how they look now.
  • Lowered temperature of Crashsite on Omicron by 10 degrees.
  • Replaced sniper patrols with minigun patrols for rogue starters except near Promethium deposits.
  • Updated starter mission on Dread to be more immersive. Following it will now give the player enough xp to reach level 12 (needed for SV warp drives).

Planet updates:
The following planets have been updated: Temperate, Brooding Temperate, Temperate Rainforest, Strange Temperate, Temperate Plateau, Swamp, Mire.
You can find these planets randomly throughout the galaxy. Please give any feedback on POI spawn density, etc.
Important notes:
The new drone base setup is currently bugged and has been reported so I am using the old one for now. Until the new one is fixed, it is not possible to give each faction their own faction themed drones. And even when it is fixed that may not be possible. This is a game bug/limitation I can do nothing about.
So yes, Polaris will still be guarded by Polaris faction Zirax drone types. Again, there is absolutely nothing I can do about this for now, and possibly not ever.
There is a bug with patrol vessels where sometimes they will spawn without a faction. This needs to be reproduced and reported in a vanilla save. Preferrably by somebody else as I already spent about 8 hours testing and reporting game bugs today and am burnt out on it.
POIs are definitely a work in progress. Many new ones will need to be made to fit the different planets (for example Talon stilt villages and pirate barges for swamp planets, etc).
For now POI setup will feel light and generic as I have removed most old vanilla and RE1 POI spawning from the updated planets and have only a limited set of generic RE2 POIs to spawn from.
  • Updated POI configs with new RE2 POI groups. Removed all old POIs.
  • Added temporary placeholder POIs for POIs that aren't yet updated or made to aid in playfield config setup.
  • Updated drone spawning. Now uses Zirax hoverdrones and gunships.
  • Added a Zirax patrol vessel guarding the Zirax drone base.
  • Added Xenu patrol vessels that patrol the planet in Zirax galactic territory. NOTE: this is currently bugged and sometimes the patrol vessels will spawn without a faction.

Misc:
  • Resource asteroids in asteroid fields (updated ones) now have a 3 day POI regeneration timer instead of 12 hours.
  • Updated poor quality asteroid fields in cold systems. Temporarily removed all other asteroid field types from cold systems.
  • Added Tungsten and Cobalt-Copper asteroids to asteroid fields.
  • Changed rock texture to snow texture on ice asteroids in asteroid fields.
  • Generic asteroid fields are now only found in colonists or neutral territory. In the future faction owned asteroid fields will be added back in.
  • Updated gas giant moon orbits.
  • Fixed broken Palladium deposits.
  • Increased chance for Trader faction to appear in neutral territory from 5% to 25%.
  • Increased chance for Xenu faction to appear in Zirax territory to 100%.
  • Added temporary placeholder POIs for new RG2 POI groups. These will spawn until updated or new POIs can be made and are being added to aid in POI spawn setup.
  • Hid Second Chances and Fuel Delivery missions. They will be replaced by something else later on in RE2 development.


Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Added more Xenu, Epsilon and Rados Planet Deco POIs.
  • Changed HV drills to drill mode 0 (will give XP, but excessive drill usage will cause FPS issues)
  • SV mechanical drills further reduced in mass by 200kg.
  • SV laser drills reduced in mass by 600kg.
  • Overhauled Flamethrower. (This is so much fun now. It sets EVERYTHING on fire)
  • The return of the HV Flamethrower. This is a Medium weapon.
  • Corrected HP of the non-retractable HV/SV laser turret.
  • Adjusted the damage multipliers of the Plasma Sword vs Doors, Grates, Sentry Guns and Devices so it can breach doors with 1 or 2 swings.
  • Sources of Carbon Substrate have been replaced with Graphite at the same ratio as iron, copper and silicon.
  • Graphite can be crafted into Carbon Substrate in the same way and ratio that iron, copper and silicon can be made into ingots.
  • Crushed Stone can be crafted into graphite in the same way that iron ore can be made from crushed stone.
  • Marketprices for graphite-based items and blocks adjusted for new values.
  • Platinum Plates can be smelted down in a Furnace into Platinum Ore.
  • Removed April Fools content.

Misc:
  • Added test Polaris mining sites to the test system (Thanks to Ente for updated mining vessels). To get to them use console command sector TestAsteroidField or sector TestAsteroidField2. One has moving mining vessels, the other has static ones. Please test and give feedback.
  • Added Zirax asteroid fields to T2 habitable systems (F and A class stars). You can find them on the solar system map as a red asteroid field icon. Please check them out and leave feedback!
  • Added Rados Asteroid Mines.
  • Updated icon for Railgun Rifle (thanks to Vermillion).
  • Added new shield nullifier block for POIs to reduce their own shield strength.
  • Updated some more Project Eden market prices.
  • Increased visual size and collision of ore nuggets for Tungsten and Palladium ore.
  • Removed explosion effect from shuttle block shuttles that collide with something due to them sometimes colliding with other POIs.
  • Moved shuttle spawn point on shuttle blocks further out from the emitter base by 1 block to make them easier to place without having the shuttles be accidentally destroyed on spawn.
  • Replaced RG1 Abandoned POI group with RG2 version on all planets.
  • Added RG2 Colonist POIs to orbits and trade station sectors.
  • Added Slag that is obtained when mining custom ores and the game attempts to pick up the whole block. Avoids the random inventory full messages. Can be deconstructed for materials.
  • Updated dialogue for exploration site ExploreT1_1 to use new hacking variables.


Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Xenu Planet Deco POIs added to scenario. More will come.
  • Wood Logs can no longer be found in Harvest Boxes. Replaced by Graphite.
  • Increased the value of furniture commodities.
  • Added more missions to the Settlement NPC found on colonies and housing POIs.
  • Dedicated crew will ask to join the player upon completing a Settlement's mission set.
  • Bars such as Pax Purgatory, Totally Overpowered and The Rusty Barrel will sometimes give the option to hire a random dedicated crewmember upon completing their single mission.
  • Totally Overpowered and Pax Purgatory have 2 more possible missions added to their list.
  • QuantumStar traders can now be asked where to find Quantum Processors.
  • Fixed a bug where the Weapon Locker would throw an error when attempting to modify an Energy Rifle.
  • Added new Gravgens for CV/BA and HV/SV.
  • Removed Compact Gravity Generator now that there's a dedicated set.
  • Updated Polaris Com Relays with new gravgens and satellite dishes
  • Updated Communication Station with fixed teleporter target, removed sentry gun above the door and added two satellite dishes to the exterior.
  • Added ArkBank Teller to trader list for bank POIs in future.

Misc:
  • Added new poor quality asteroid fields to habitable systems.
  • Added two types of standard asteroid fields to habitable systems. One with Colonists and one with Bandits.
    Please check out these new asteroid fields for appearances, performance, balance, etc. They can be found as white asteroid field icons in habitable systems in neutral territory (G, F, and A class stars, with G stars having higher chance of poor quality fields).

  • Fixed incorrect drone base setup on Omicron leading to the drone base not spawning.
  • Updated starter asteroid fields to keep POIs in the center of the field to avoid getting ambushed on warp in.
  • Updated creative start on Akua with the creative library and a teleporter to orbit.
  • Added new RG2 colonist and billboard POIs to orbits. Added new RG2 Pirate trade station to trade station sectors.
  • Updated market price for SV modulated laser ammo.
  • Removed hidden CPU cost on auxiliary cores (I think).
  • Updated model and size on Medium Blaster Cannon to use new RG2 model.
  • Added new hacking satellites to sun playfields (thanks to Ente, Procyon Lotor, Stan, DarkestWarrior).
  • Added weapons locker to the crashed prison transport on the Rogue starting planets. Added antibiotic pills to treat dermal burns to starting equipment.
  • Fixed faction config error with duplicate Warlord abbreviation leading to Warlord faction not spawning anywhere outside the starting systems.
  • Increased time between base attacks on planets.


Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
Update 3
  • Hotfix for RG2 for thruster efficiency change and update to hacking for compatibility with eden.

Update 2
  • Reduced the size of Spinal-Mount variants of Medium CV weapons. (from 2x11x2 to 2x6x2)
  • Medium CV Weapon variants have a new model to fit the new dimensions.
  • Optronics and a few other components can now be crafted in the Universal Constructor (was missing)
  • Increased the amount of thrust of all CV thrusters by 12.5%. This makes them still weaker than their RE1 versions, but they are also significantly cheaper in Build and CPU cost, and there are TWO tiers of upgradable thrusters above!
  • Increased drop count of Antimatter Converters from Ultra Rare loot containers.
  • Added Antimatter Converters to Very Rare loot containers.
  • Increased drop count of Plasma Converters from Very Rare and Rare loot containers.
  • Bugfixes

Update 1
  • Added new SV Mechanical Drill, separate from the HV Mechanical drill that once again works in space. This will make older mining SVs illegal until their drills are replaced.
  • Changed status effect treatment by medical devices so they match the device names.
  • Improved block group compatibility for RE2.
  • Added new hacking satellites to replace vanilla ones.
  • Changed mining mode for survival tool.
    This will make the survival tool kick up dust and make particle effects, but fix the issue where mining ore deposits with it do not give XP.
  • Minor adjustments to trees and terrain drops.
  • Fixed missing recipe for the 450MW Laser Charge.
  • Added 4 Colonist Asteroid Mines, 1 Relay Station, 2 Trade Stations.

  • Custom weapon models no longer fall through the ground when dropped.
  • Fixed bug where the T1 assault rifle could see through walls.

The other starting planets are not yet setup for RE2.
Also the habitable, cold, and hot orbits throughout the galaxy are updated for RE2. Random planets and moons outside the starting systems have not been updated yet.
Please feel free to test out survival game play through getting a CV and leaving the starting system and leave any feedback or issues you encounter!


Misc:
  • Tweaked ore rocks on Pandora.
  • Adjusted spawning location on Roggery. Now it will attempt to place the player spawn near the center of the map in a swamp or morass biome so you spawn in the day (for SP) if possible, otherwise it will place it anywhere in swamp or morass as a fallback. (needs testing)
  • Updated starting equipment on Roggery. Now you start with water bottles, more pistol ammo, and some medical supplies.
  • Added titanium to Akua, Omicron, Roggery starter moons.
  • Updated Rogue starting POI and mission.
  • Updated starter asteroid field deco to place deco asteroids further away from the center of the field to keep the center clear for POIs. Also spread out the different fields more.
  • Added science satellite with a hint from IDA to Akua orbit near the wormhole as an introduction to satellite hacking.
  • Added placeholder hacking satellites to sun playfields for all major factions while new ones are being created.
  • Added Reforged story mission POIs to Ningues. WIP and untested yet.
  • Replaced old RG1 starter abandoned POIs with new RG2 starter abandoned POIs on Akua, Omicron, Roggery, and Ningues.

Playfield level normalization:
Playfield levels for all playfields are being normalized for a more consistent experience.
This is because the only thing that playfield level changes is the health and damage of NPCs and the strength of base attacks and space defense reinforcements.
Because playfield level has no effect on the blocks or weapons of a POI or patrol vessel or on any loot, it never made sense to attack high level POIs as it would just make the foot combat harder with no extra reward.
Previously, the level of a playfield was based on its location relative to the center of the faction territory it was in, or set to level 1 if outside of a faction territory. Some playfields, such as plasma planets or certain starting planets, were also given an override to set them to a specific level.
This would scale NPC health and damage from 100% to 250%, a huge variance for no additional loot.
After this change, almost all playfields are now set to a random level between 1 and 3, resulting in NPC health and damage scaling between 100% and about 133%.
Most starting planets and playfields in the starting systems are set to level 1.
There may be some set higher in the future, such as faction homeworlds.


Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Added Disabled Shield Generators (Dome and OPV variants) that are obtained when salvaging a POI's shield generator.
  • Added Plasma Shield Generator (Dome) for player bases made from disabled shield generators.
  • Fixed bugs with main story missions.
  • Increased the damage of the Combat Knife and Plasma Sword, as well as updated their attack animation.
  • Adjusted drop rates of ammunition and some components.

  • Skeletons found on terrain can be harvested for 6-10 Bones.
  • Added Biobox to Abandoned Bunker, Mine and Reactor.
  • Updated Abandoned POI group.
  • Built new Abandoned Drone Base using a modern (but obsolete) drone base instead of that antique from 6+ years ago.
  • Built new Abandoned Landing Pad for the starter planets.
  • Pointlessly reduced blast damage of Antennae from 100 to 10.
  • Crewmembers can no longer be dragged around.
  • Fixed inconsistency between group and block limits for sentry guns. Limit is now 24.
  • New models for Combat Knife, T1 Assault Rifle, T1 Pistol, T2 Pistol, T3 Pistol, T4 Pistol and T2 SMG.
  • Fixed story bug where the player would skip talking to Officer Pavrell in Plausible Deniability.
  • Fixed incorrect ammo name in Medium Plasma Cannon's description.

  • Reduced RoF of T1 and T2 Assault Rifle slightly. Increased damage to compensate.
  • Increased magazine size of T2 Pistol (No longer a revolver), reduced damage to compensate.

Project Eden 2 Alpha:
At this point Akua, Omicron, and Roggery and their moons and orbits are set up as starting planets with the new decoration system and the new Reforged Galaxy 2 missions.
Habitable and Cold orbits are setup and ready for testing.
Please leave any feedback on the missions, biomes, and difficulty on these three starting planets, or on the random habitable and cold orbits.


Misc:
  • Updated market pricing for PE CV ship ammo.
  • Removed Swarm Launcher and Thermal Lance for now until they can be properly added later.
  • Removed more old playfields.
  • Doubled Omicron's atmospheric O2 percentage to improve efficiency of water condensers.
  • Updated POI spawns for cold orbits.
  • Updated starting items for creative start on Akua.
  • Added shuttle blocks to PE space factories.
  • Skeletons on planets now drop bones when harvested.
  • Added new test for the Ancient Warp Gate. To test, use console command sector 'Andromeda to Decay Warp Gate' and then approach the warp gate in a ship.
    Once you get near, a waypoint will appear in the middle of the warp gate. Simply fly straight through the warp gate and hit your warp ship button as you are flying through it to warp to the other side (you'll have 3 seconds to warp once you fly through the gate).
    Requires an advanced warp drive and a full tank of refined pentaxid. Please do not test anything else about the ancient warp gate except for this new warp feature as nothing else about it is setup yet and it's only one way right now.

Reforged Galaxy 2 Alpha:
  • Fixed Talon Chief giving the wrong time for the UCH Fleet.
  • Increased the trigger range for zirax attack in the ancient tower so the mission triggers first before the player enters sensor range.
  • Reduced HP of stone spires and other oversized rocks to prevent indestructibility.
  • Pilot Crewmember (Functional pilot) will now (hopefully) be able to speak to the player. If it works without any bugs, this function will extend to other crewmembers.
  • New barking dialogs for mechanoids/androids based on their function.
  • Platinum Credits now accepted by ATM.
  • New Kamirat-Class Heavy Carrier added to game.
  • Update for all other OPVs that had their Plasma and Antimatter thrusters deleted when their groupname was changed in the last update.
  • Trauma Station can be made in the HV/SV Constructor.
  • Shuttle Blocks added for eden compatibility.
  • Changed variable for satellite hacking from dbplayerpoi_int to dbplayerpoipos_int
  • Fixed bomber spawn during Offworld Grave mission.
  • SV Warp Drive now consumes 25% less pentaxid per AU.

Just did an update to add a shuttle test block for planet bases: Eden_ShuttleDockPlanet
This will call down a decorative shuttle from orbit to land on the platform for a short time, then take off again.
Note: please do not use these test shuttle blocks in blueprints as they will be renamed once they are properly added.
