Update for Reforged Eden 2 Beta: (Build 26)

Project Eden 2:
Ongoing updates for Legacy:
Updates for the Legacy faction and the Sea of Silence region. Some of these updates will need either a PDA update or a new save game to apply.
This is all work in progress. Balance, progression, and rewards are not final. Missions and unique rewards are planned.
Please let me know what you think of it so far. This contains several experimental changes that may or may not work properly.
  • Added playfields and POIs for the next expedition mission Sea of Silence. Some of these POIs are not yet complete and neither is the mission, however this should future proof it such that any save game started with this update should be able to complete the mission once it becomes available.
  • Added new mission Expedition: Sea of Silence. This mission will show up in your PDA but will not be activatable yet as it's not yet ready. It will be enabled in a future update once it's done.
    The new expedition mission will not be completable in any save game that was started in build 25 or earlier. Only save games started in build 26 or later will be able to do it once it's added.
  • Reduced playfield drone spawns for some POIs on legacy planets.

Changes to magmacite:
Several changes have been made to magmacite. The end result of this is that you will get an average of 4x the magmacite ingots per magmacite formation you mine out compared to before.
  • Increased number of magmacite nodules in magmacite formations by 3x-4x. Reduced gold and diamond yield to compensate.
  • Increased magmacite ore dropped from each nodule from 2-4 to 4-8.
  • Deleted old magmacite prefabs as they were replaced with new RE2 versions. This may cause planets that had already been generated previous to this update but not yet visited to not spawn any magmacite formations.
  • Added magmacite to cracked lava moons and molten lava moons and updated Empyriopedia entry.
  • Increased health of magmacite nodules from 1000 to 5000. They will now take 2 hits from a full set of SV laser drills to mine.

Misc:
  • Various tweaks to increase the time between base attacks. On average there should be an extra game day or two between attacks compared to before this change. Also changed TargetBaseStrengthToPriceMultiplier from 0.05 to 0.025 so attacks scale less with the strenght of your base. MinimalBaseStrength increased from 50 to 75. Hopefully these changes help reduce the strength and frequency of base attacks.
    Please note: Much of the behavior of base attacks is HARD CODED. They were already configured them to be far easier than the vanilla settings before these latest changes, with base attacks happening at half the frequency, at 2/3rds the strength, and with half the base strength multiplier compared to vanilla. These changes now make them even easier than before.

  • Increased blast radius of torpedoes fired from MX-4 Rapid Torpedo Launcher from 3 to 4. Increased range from 950 to 965.
  • Updated commodity icons in the Empyriopedia. Re-arranged some sections slightly to make some links more visible as people were having trouble finding the section that had them. (requires pda update)
  • Enabled most Project Eden light and medium CV turrets on planets as part of the RG2 experiment. These may be further adjusted or removed later. Some will have very short ranges.
  • The Zirax sent someone to rescue their stranded troops on Brood and Swarm Assemblies.
  • Misc fixes.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
  • Increased the range of the Flamethrower. Reduced blast radius by 1 meter and increased impact damage by 5.
  • Reduced quantum CPU crafting cost.
  • Adjusted Magmacite mass, volume, production sizes, and sub-component costs.
  • Added a new T3 Legacy Conflagrator POI.
  • Added a new T1 Legacy Scorpius POI.
  • Increased the loot on all new Legacy POIs.
  • Adjusted performance of several Legacy POIs (again) to fix signal logic issues inside.
  • Removed Gas Cloud from the Infector that was blocking shots.
  • Changed SV Homing Missiles to no longer have the +50% reload penalty (DPM adjusted accordingly) and increased their damage bonus against drones from 200% to 500%.
  • Separated the HV cannon shells from the CV cannon turret shells.
  • Replaced the ingot icons with new ones that should be easier for colorblind people to tell apart.
  • Reduced the maximum number of drones Legacy drone bays can produce.
  • Adjusted damage multipliers of legacy turrets vs HV/SV so they're not getting hit as hard as a CV would be.
  • Updated Legionaries with their own loot table.
  • Unique Legacy weapons can now be modded, but require legacy-specific weapon mods.
  • Unique UCH weapons can now be modded.
  • Mining Equipment is now bought by Mining Operations, though it is far more profitable to supply them as part of a trader mission.
  • CV Light and Medium Turrets are now functional on planets. Yes, you read that right: You now have full functionality of a capital vessel's turrets in-atmo. This does not apply to fixed weapons... yet.
    This change is experimental and may be reverted based on performance and feedback. As such, the turret's descriptions and groupings as "space only" have not been changed.

  • Added the Legacy home system of Hyron to the center of the Sea of Silence. Work in progress, no unique POIs or missions yet. Contains unique orbital visuals and an updated home planet. To find it start a new save game and search the galaxy map for Hyron. (new save games only)
  • Added Legacy desert planets to Sea of Silence.
  • Reduced atmospheric density on Legacy infected planets to increase average weapon ranges.
  • Reduced gravity range on Legacy infected planets from -16, -12 to -14, -11.
    More updates are planned including a new expedition mission.

Misc:
  • Added new "Using Modified Configs READ FIRST.txt" file under Content/Configuration with a disclaimer about modifying the Reforged Eden 2 configuration files.
    As a reminder anyone is free to modify the configs but doing so is entirely at your own risk and you become responsible for everything about your modified scenario. There have been a significant number of issues reported that are due to people modifying the configs and breaking their game.
    Please read over the new file if you plan to modify the scenario configs.
  • Added a customizable survival kit as an easier to use alternative to the CB:survival chatbot command for servers that gives players a survival kit of resources. You can set it up in the Project Eden Admin Settings menu in-game.
  • Added new radioactive moon type.
  • Added a small chance of raw diamonds from harvesting all color variations of large glowing crystals. Previously only one color variation gave diamonds.
  • Marked the Dead Part 2 mission as Ultra difficulty instead of Hard. (requires PDA update)
  • Hid mission The Progenitors Chapter 1 in the PDA as the Progenitor area is not accessible yet. (requires PDA update)
  • Added +2 level mod to Sector Commands to make the NPCs inside a little tougher.
  • Removed warnings about save game corruption from the prototype micro jump drives as there have been no severe issues reported with them.
  • Updated magmacite ore icon in the Empyriopedia.
  • Added holographic advertisement blocks for sale in Colonists, Polaris, and Trade Federation distribution centers, Trade Federation Orbital Advanced Factories, and Trading Station Olivine. (new playfields only)
  • Removed beta warning and Empyriopedia reminder from loading screen to make more room.
  • Misc fixes.

Reforged Galaxy 2:
Changelog:
  • Reduced degradation of the Pulse Rifle.
  • Added numbering to the trading cards so players can tell the current and maximum number of cards in a set.
  • Added new Effect Projector.
  • Added Effect Selector mode to the multitool for changing the color/shape of some effect projectors.
  • Fixed a bug where the explosions of Corruptor warheads were not being visibly shown when hitting a player's shields (They are doing damage, but no one could tell)
  • Legacy Bioshells now retrieve as Legacy Deco blocks.
  • Small increase to Heavy Bomb blast damage.
  • Added a Tier 2 Legacy Boss
  • Reduced power consumption of deco crew blocks.
  • Deco Crew Blocks now in the Deco Blocks category instead of Devices.

  • Added resources and components from Eden for easier cross-compatibility. Updated their item descriptions and icons.
  • Updated Abandoned Reactor to move the Legacy Biobox away from the Fusion Reactor since it was being destroyed through a solid wall when the reactor detonated.
  • Updated the existing Legacy POIs with improved signal logic that should stop players getting stuck in places. You will still encounter issues in places where signal logic closes a forcefield in the presence of a player when there are multiple players inside a POI.
  • Added a Tier 4 Legacy POI that will function in the same role as a Drone Base. It is comparable to the Sector Command. It is MASSIVE.
  • Added yet another Tier 1 Legacy POI.
  • Updated Legacy OPVs with the new Legacy loot containers (which you can access through the control panel for easy looting), more loot and alleviated the issue with turrets under bioshells being destroyed before the bioshell exploded.
  • Legionaries.
  • Halved the CPU cost of drone bays (at least until Eleon improves them)
  • Ammunitions that used platinum to craft now use more available alternatives.
  • Some weapons and blocks will also use new components.
  • Increased the range of the Quantum Teleporter by 25LY.
  • Ship Weapons now display their base "Damage per minute" below their "Shield Damage per minute" on their tooltip.
  • Divided the tooltips on parent and child block variants for the medium and heavy fixed weapons. With flavor text greatly shortened on the parent block and indication that there are alternate variants to choose from.

  • Updated warning text for picking crops or opening a container that would cause reputation loss.
  • Added search tags to some PDA pages to make them easier to search for in external PDA tools.
  • Added first start of a table of contents section with links to Empyrion Buddy. Clicking a link in-game will open a Steam overlay browser to the Empyrion Buddy page for that entry. Can also be used within Empyrion Buddy for easier navigation.
  • Added new Empyriopedia token to starting equipment on all planets to help direct players to read the Empyriopedia. Please, please, please read the Empyriopedia. (new saves only)
  • Modulated ice and asteroid drills are now airtight.
  • Set CPU cost of debug warp drive to 0 and energy cost to 1.
  • Removed POI-only devices from salvage yard vessels.
  • Added pipeline POIs to temperate-like planets in Polaris, Trade Federation, and Free Colonists galactic territory.

  • Sentry Guns now unlock from Cargo Containers, adjacent to the Ammo Box. This puts the CV/BA turret unlocks higher up on the tech tree, near the fixed weapons instead of at the bottom.
  • Updated Foundation Blocks with an updated name, description and icon.
  • Re-grouped the Legacy POI blocks.
  • Legacy Deco blocks can now be retrieved.
  • Added Legacy Cargo Containers that are part of the Legacy Deco Blocks.
  • Added specialized tracers and projectiles for handheld weapons that include casing/shell ejection animations.
  • Updated all handheld weapon models with improved handling. This will stop floating arms from appearing or weapons vanishing off the bottom off the screen in god mode/dialog.
  • Reduced durability loss on miniguns.
  • Fixed issue where DC-17 Laser Pistols and Pulse Rifles weren't dropping.
  • Fixed issue where players could get stuck inside the Crashed Titan Front.
  • Fixed issue where the Tank in front of the Ghyst Military Bunker couldn't be killed.
  • Pre-damaged most deco in Rados Missile Base variants and Ghyst Bunker so zirax don't get stuck inside TVs, plants and showers where you can't get them.
  • Added 3 new Talon Tannery variants that are part of the main talon POI groups. Should make leather easier to get.

Servers please remember to delete the reforged2 Unity asset bundle from the scenario's SharedData folder on your server as it is no longer used.
The reforged2 unity bundle is no longer included in the scenario so no sense making your players download it when they connect to your server.
Please make sure both reforged2 files are deleted from the Reforged Eden 2/SharedData/Content/Bundles folder.
For single player Steam should automatically handle this.

Project Eden 2:
Misc:
  • Added new random missions from captains of UCH research vessels outside the starting systems. I did not get a chance to test these yet. (requires pda readdata console command to update in SP saves)
  • Added new warning when first approaching a T1 or T2 Zirax space POI to check the Empyriopedia as people were attempting to attack it while unprepared. (requires pda readdata console command to update in SP saves)
  • The Zirax POI in orbit around some starter planets is now in a fixed position and no longer a valid patrol target for the patrol vessel. (New saves only)
  • Rebalanced X-Corp LR-47 Thunderbolt.
  • You no longer get a reputation penalty with third party factions when spawning a structure inside of a faction's territory. You can still get a penalty with the owning faction.
  • Normalized faction penalty for spawning a structure in a faction's territory.
  • Added RG2 spider or raptor nests to Akua, Tallodar, Omicron, and Roggery starting planets.
  • Added RG2 volcanic vent POIs to many lava type planets and moons.
  • Colonist POI spawning will be updated next update to account for new POIs.

Applying this scenario update to your server may wipe completed blueprints from player's blueprint factory and their logbook if you are using the new SharedData cache download method!
You may need to upload your files to a NEW URL and change the URL used in your config to match so clients download the updated SharedData zip. Only applies if you're using the new SharedData download method outlined here:

Reminder: If you are using this feature on an existing savegame, it might delete your player's completed blueprints and logbooks when you update the scenario. This does not apply to servers that are using the old method.

Servers please remember to delete the reforged2 Unity asset bundle from the scenario's SharedData folder on your server as it is no longer used.
The reforged2 unity bundle is no longer included in the scenario so no sense making your players download it when they connect to your server.
Please make sure both reforged2 files are deleted from the Reforged Eden 2/SharedData/Content/Bundles folder.
For single player Steam should automatically handle this.

Project Eden 2:
Misc:
  • Added hint to finding UCH Research Vessels to Empyriopedia.

Changelog:
  • Improved accuracy of player CV flak turrets. May be adjusted depending on effectiveness.

  • When larger handheld weapons are not in use but still in your inventory, they will be visibly displayed mounted to the player's jetpack/backpack.
  • Protoinfector Boss now produces creepy sounds while idle or injured.
  • Adjusted Rocket Launcher and Plasma Cannon's performance to match their updated models.
  • Handheld weapons now have colored tags on their icon to make them easier to distinguish and identify their tier.

Quick hotfix (no build change)
  • Reduced quantum processors required to craft quantum CPU extenders by 25%.

For servers: The only file that needs to be updated is Content/Configuration/Templates.ecf.
There is no need to update anything with the SharedData.
