ARK: Survival Evolved

Personal Waypoints [Discontinued]
Showing 1-6 of 6 entries
Update: 6 Oct, 2018 @ 5:28pm

  • Fixed issue with shared waypoints coming up multiple times per share.
  • Added the ability to search the waypoint list.
  • Shared waypoints and the steamid they were shared with will show up in the game log (if you have it turned on in the settings). This will be removed in the next version unless requested to leave them in.

Update: 4 Oct, 2018 @ 4:25pm

This change has a lot of changes.

  • Persistent tribe member tracking has been added! However, this means I have turned off the ability to tag tribe members with the dino key. You should still be able to tag other players like allies or enemies. You can change a tribe member's name and color, and whether their waypoint is visible to you or not. You cannot delete them. They should be deleted automatically if they leave the tribe. This also adds an indicator next to their name on whether they are online (green), offline (grey), or dead and not respawned (red).
  • Possible fix for waypoints getting stuck on the screen due to the change in the way tribe member tracking is done.
  • Toggle all on and off should work properly now.
  • Put in a check to stop multiple deathpoints at the same point from being added.
  • Put in a check to stop multiple instances of the Main UI being called that would cause it to get stuck on the screen. It should catch any quick multiple keypresses now.
  • You can now share waypoints with select people or still select everyone in the tribe to share with.

After this update, any tribe members that log in will be recorded by the server so that tribe members are available to be tracked by anyone else in the tribe. Any tribe members that haven't logged in since this update will not show up in the list.

I have also updated the preview image as I am officially part of the modding contest this time. Voting starts on Saturday!

Update: 5 Sep, 2018 @ 9:27pm

  • Deleting a waypoint will no longer cause subsequent clicks to go into the game.
  • Shared waypoints can now be edited, deleted, and hidden again without having to toggle all of them off to get some to go off.
  • Sharing waypoints should now send the correct waypoint to the other tribe members.
  • Deathpoints can now be deleted.
  • Waypoints will now properly save their visible status.
  • When toggling all waypoints, they will now display as turned off in the UI properly.
  • The UI will now catch if you press your keybind for the UI again and close the UI. There is a one second delay before it will recognize that key again.

Example: If you have it set to F1, you can press F1 again to close the UI. If you press it again within a second, nothing will happen.
  • When a player logs out, dies and is eaten/destroyed, or transfers/uploads at an obelisk any waypoints put on them by anyone else is automatically deleted to prevent waypoints from being stuck on the screen that can't be removed. The same will go for dinos that are tagged.

Unfortunately there was issues with waypoints getting stuck when the tagged player disconnects, so waypoints are being removed on disconnect as well. You will now only be able to track online and live players/dinos.

  • To go with the above, put in a check to stop you from tagging a sleeping or dead player/dino. Does not affect dinos currently knocked out and being tamed that I am aware of.
  • The UI should no longer get stuck on the screen as this was due to the first issue of the mouse going back to game not back to the UI and double taps of the key will now close the UI and not open a new one.
  • An option in the settings menu from the UI will let you toggle the HUD image on and off.
  • The HUD image now has the keybindings text smaller. Set it to have a green background instead of white.
  • Adjusted the UI for when you have UI scaling set to not 100%. The UI will no longer look weird and parts being unusable at lower scaling.

However, I do not recommend using the mod at below 75% scaling. The UI scaling effects where you see the waypoints as well, so the farther you put it down, the farther off the waypoint will be from it's true location. This is especially evident on tagged players and dinos.

  • New config options that must be placed under [PersonalWaypoints]

UIKey, ToggleKey, DinoKey will accept any of the following keys (no spaces in the names): F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, Insert, Delete, Home, End, PageUp, PageDown, Up, Down, Left, Right, Backspace, Enter, CapsLock, MiddleMouseButton, ThumbMouseButton, ThumbMouseButton2
    Example: UIKey=F1

MaxWaypoints defaults to 30 but will accept any number between 1 and 100. If you put in any number below 1 or over 100, it will default back to 30.
    Example: MaxWaypoints=30

Note: The config options have NOT been tested. Please report any issues with them.
