"In 2113, the Mars Exploration Coalition was in desperate need of a heavy fighter and exploration craft due to the government on Titan recently acquiring highly reactive minerals from the rings of Saturn. The Coalition established a mission to create a defense force for Mars while also exploring the Sol System for resources. To meet these demands, the MEC Irumanda was created. The MEC Irumanda is a single-seat heavy fighter and exploration vessel meant for long range travel. It had many weapons, including prototype plasma casters. It was capable of lasting for hundreds of years in reserve or in cruise. However, the MEC could not afford to produce many, and several were placed on the black market at extraordinary prices to fund the creation for more Irumandas."
