Spiral Slaughter

Description
Up the hills we go, with lots of Zed in tow.
In this silly little map, the specimen heartily we slap.
And down the bullets we lay, marking the Zed men's last day.

Spiral Slaughter is a small cylinder-shaped defense map that offers multiple playstyles:
- Intense close-combat on a spiraling pathway.
- Long range sniper engagement from a skyline platform and rickety suspended bridge.
- Chaotic jungle warfare with near zero visibility due to rampant vegetation.

I did this one as a quick little 3-day project (roughly 15 hours of work) to take a break from larger projects. The zed spawn rate can feel a bit slow if you camp the very top platform, as the spawning AI will devalue some of the spawn nodes (nothing I can do about this, I've tried my best).

An overly simplistic map, but still very beatufiul. It's definately something XP farmers love. It almost feels like there is potential to expand the project into a more complete map if you ever want to revisit it, Sean. A nice, little map either way.

Just tried a sp/commando. Fun in a similar way to your Verticality map. I agree it's quite easy, and maybe more spawn points would help this. I heard some crawlers spawn in at one point, and looked up (I was part way down the path) I thought they were spawning in from some of the boulders that were on the sides, that would add some extra threat. I don't know how doable this is, I'm not a modder (no time for it). A crumbling path would be interesting too, something you could fall thru, you just feel invulnerable on the map, a win is a foregone conclusion unless you make too big a mistake or fall off, but the path is wide where that's not a risk hardly. An intense storm would be fun too (that causes reduced visibility) but would probably introduce fps issues. An extra trader area would be nice and add some variety. Anyhow, it was fun, I didn't notice any bugs and while I strongly prefer dark maps (epecially in horror-based games), I will rate this one up. Thank you for sharing.

A bit too easy even with HOE difficulty. Could you make some spawns in the back near the trader so that players will still have to be on edge with fear that a FP or SC might come behind It would be a lot of fun trying to not be knocked off :steamhappy:. Also some small zed spawns on the spiral itself with some cave entrances on the sides of the spiral would be nice.
