Better Bone Armor

Description
Hand recoloring of the Dragonscale and Dragonbone Armor to make them look grittier and boney-er,
as inspired by dried chicken bones.

By popular demand, I've added an esp, which switches the armor ratings for Dragonbone and Daedric so the higher tier armor is actually better!

All textures are original sizes (1024 etc), so no worries about slowing down your system!

Quick-Fix Instructions on how to get shiny custom textures to work with the HighRes Texture Pack
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethesda has changed the way BSA's load, so this quick-fix shouldn't be necessary any more, but I'll leave it here in case anyone has issues with the textures not loading properly
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**Special thanks to AstroCat on the Bethsoft forums for figuring this out**

1. Locate and open your Skyrim.ini file (should be in "Documents/My Games/Skyrim" or similar)

2. Find the subheading near the bottom named "[Archive]". Add in "HighResTexturePack01.bsa" and "HighResTexturePack02.bsa" after your "Skyrim - Textures.bsa" so it looks

like this:

[Archive]
sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Textures.bsa, HighResTexturePack01.bsa, HighResTexturePack02.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim -

Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa
sResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa

3. Save and close Skyrim.ini, then start up the Skyrim Launcher or your favorite Load Ordering program (Wrye Bash etc). De-activate the "HighResTexturePack01.esp" and

"HighResTexturePack02.esp" mods.

4. Play the game, and enjoy all the awesome texture packs you spent so much time downloading!!

Okay, I checked it out myself and it seems to list the esp as "Better Bone Armor" even though the name of the actual file is mod1.esp. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be changing the install instructions to reflect this.

You don't HAVE to find anything for crafting. Console commands are your friend :)

Novaspawn - It's funny. I originally hadn't messed with the Daedric stuff at all, but quite a few people were requesting it so I switched 'em.

The .esp is what switches the armor ratings, and that's pretty much all it does. If you want just the textures they're available loose for manual install at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3688 (just don't activate the esp), or you could try adding the mod1.bsa to the Skyrim.ini - say, after the highres packs - so you can deactivate the esp and still have the textures (untested, but it should work...). Hope this helps.

I would subscribe to this mod but the switching of armor with daedric set is a turn off, and to those who don't understand why dragon smithing is 100 and daedric isn't is because Dragonscale is the strongest light armor whereas daedric cannot make light armor. The reason why Daedric armor has higher armor rating is because according to lore Daedric is the strongest not dragonbone; yet I prefer dragonbone because it fits my look better. Is it possible for you to release a version that doesn't have the armor rating swapped?

Yes but he only sells 2 daedra hearts and at a absurd price too, I find it easier looking around for them, they come to you, if you've done the pieces of the past quest however, getting those hearts shouldn't be hard if you're a patient person, also ebony fairly expensive to obtain though.
