Description
The Orpington series is getting a full overhaul, every ship being upgraded, updated and built from scratch.
The 04 is out, bigger, better and much improved.

DESCRIPTION:

We put a lot of work into this one, mostly visually to improve its overall look, practical use of the ship and firepower(Yes, it can broadside). As such, every single compartment was redesigned and updated since it 9 months old predecessor. Unlike the 03, the 04 is now fully covered in a layer of heavy armor since losing this ship would be a catastrophic loss in survival mode.

The hangar is much larger and can fit nearly every practical small ship, even managed to squeeze the 02 in there (See screenshot).

Think of this as the big brother to the 03. The production size of this ship makes it a small mobile station and it packs enough firepower to defend itself against all NPC threats. Armed with composite armor and transporting a crew of up to 8 engineers it is ideal for surviving in hostile scenarios. As such, this one does have a small gravity engine, nothing big, but it will significantly boost acceleration if/when needed.

Gravity engine:

Typically if you find a pilot seat, they will look something like this:

1. Forward Grav engine
2. Reverse Grav engine
3. Mass booster
4. Main gravity generator

To use it optimally simply:

- Turn off the main gravity generator
- Turn on the mass booster
- Turn off inertial dampeners (default key is Z) (Or dont)
- Turn on either forward or reverse grav engine (obviously not both at the same time)

Hangar doors on this one are scripted, meaning that they use a timer block to open and another timer block to close.
When you click fx. Starboard_HangarDoors_Close on a panel the following will happen:

- Yellow lights will blink for the duration of the doors opening/closing
- Soundblock will make a warning sound for the duration
- Green entry arrow on the exterior will switch to red "no entry" sign.

Action groups are set up in most seats and panels.

Should you not like it, simply use the group hangardoors_all for opening and closing the oldschool way.

Changes from old 04:

Exterior:

- Added more engines and introduced hydrogen thrusters
- New bridge in style with the one on the 03, just slightly bigger
- Added over 40 rocket launchers to enable to broadside just like the new 03
- Tons of visual upgrades
- Scripted entry signs for hangar

Front compartment:

- Removed visuals to improve practicality and production of the ship (Since this is mainly a maintenance area)
- Added proper modules to increase productivity and effectiveness
- Improved conveyor connections and layout


Forward middle compartment (Hangar):

- Plastered conveyors into the walls and covered them with windows to improve overall visuals
- Added glass catwalk so that one can freely move between the CIC and Production compartment without going through airlocks
- Improved hangar floor
- Set action groups for button panels
- Scripted hangar doors (lights, sound, changing entry signs etc)


Aft middle compartment (CIC, Medbay, Armory, Crew quarters, Life support etc):

- Improved visuals of CIC
- Added improved informative text panels
- Added crew quarters
- Improved visuals of medbay
- Added armory for tool and weapon storrage
- Improved visuals of Life support
- Improved visuals of Bridge access
- Fully redesigned bridge


Aft compartment (Engine Room):

- Visually improved access section
- Reduced size of gravity engine
- Added reactor lights
- Improved visuals of control station

I had made sure they were on blind jump, but I think it might have been because the game doesn't say anyone owns a ship until you tell it to. And since I had put down a seat, that seat was counted as mine but the rest of the ship was "Nobody"'s.
IDK though. It was more likely me being retarded.

Alright, i don't know if i'm mentally handicapped or something but how do you activate the jump drives? putting them in a flight seat toolbar and setting them to jump, then pressing the button does nothing.

It's sort of....... Well... It's a tube with a neat interior. And that all the other ships look the same is a bit bland, just my opinion but it looks kind of clunky and plain.
