Yeah, it is. I'm pretty sure it would also play on any humanoid NPC's death, but nevertheless.

Is it possible to have a variant that plays the Wilhelm Scream on Player Death?

It doesn't look like it. One of three things will probably happen if you install both of these:
1: Your game crashes.
2: The Wilhelm scream only plays on non-randomized monsters.
3: The Wilhelm scream overrides the death noises on the randomized monsters.
