Squids in Space!: A Splatoon Mod

Description
[Be sure to check this mod's dependencies, as it requires a species extender to work!]

A species mod based off of the cephalopods from Splatoon, the Inklings!
Grab your gear and start exploring, because now you can take to the cosmos as a cephalopod!

================

Features:

- A custom cephalopod species with their own unique pet, not-quite-custom ship, full custom dialogue and object descriptions, and all that jazz.
- Tons of custom colors and hairstyles to pick from.
- Entirely too many weapons, tiered and otherwise.
- Fully-tiered armor sets and a bunch of custom clothes.
- Lots and lots of custom objects based off of the world of Splatoon and Inkling culture.
- So much crafting? 20+ custom foods, 10+ custom codices, buffs, explosives, a custom crop and more!
- Five custom vendor stalls that sell assorted clothing and useful goods. One of them only accepts sea snails as currency, however, so be sure to hold onto those if you find them while exploring the galaxy!
- And so much more? There's a lot in this mod.

================

Compatibilities:

- This mod requires a species extender for Inklings to be a playable race. A good one is listed as a dependency.
- This mod is supported by Frackin Universe and should be 100% compatible.
- This mod is overall designed to be as compatible with as many things as possible. If you discover incompatibilities, please contact me!

- If you use Frackin Universe and BYOS, check out this awesome ship mod for Inklings!
- Don't use BYOS but still want a cool ship? Try Flypotato's custom Inkling ship! Guaranteed to give you 1000% more woomy in your life.

================

"Bugs"/FAQ:

- Vanilla races may experience clipping if they try to wear Inkling chest items. Head and leg clothing should be fine.
- Similarly, Inklings look funny with some vanilla Starbound chest items. They can wear pants/shoes fine, hats may or may not fit.
- Can't find an item? It might be in the Inkling Crafting table, it might be unlocked with a recipe, or it might be sold by one of the craftable vendors. Common crafting items can be obtained from the two NPCs at the Outpost, too.
- Octo Expansion content is unlocked by buying and using a CQ-80 from the Outpost's Octoling vendor; it's like this for thematic and spoiler reasons! You may also rarely find CQ-80s in treasure chests on Oceanic planets.

- There are currently no game-breaking bugs to my knowledge. Please contact me if you discover any, I want to fix them!

Shoutout to idea guys everywhere. Keep up the great work, you legends.

Looking forward to v3.8! Take all the time you need and do what you gotta do. The updates are impressive and the content is interesting and fun. Thanks for the ETA as well.

So the v3.8 release of the mod will have not just one, but TWO big dungeons being added. And at least 1 new microdungeon. And at least 3 new merchants selling cool stuff.
Did I mention that the mod has over 40 custom food items now and there's so many that I have to make a spreadsheet to keep track of all their ingredients and effects? It's getting silly.

Development is going well and I can give a timeframe of "last 10 days of December" as the release time, to give myself + my idea guy enough time to get things done. :3 Hope you're all ready!

(Also, I recently pushed new stats for Inklings to the kind folks over at the Race Traits mod, so if you use that mod, keep an eye out for whenever it updates next!)

@ tarkle

The Inkling Crafting Table crafts everything up to tier 3, for both weapons and clothes! (But you can also find these at anvils/etc.) Anything higher-tier can be found at the usual crafting stations.
This is because I didn't want to make everything available from the start, and it'd probably crowd the weapon tab a bit.

I'm glad you're excited though! I am too :)

@ Marinebeast, the fact "LOT" is capitalised is horrifying in the best way possible and my confusion came from that traditional/durasteel onwards moved into the frackin universe armoury and not the inkling crafting table like T1 and T2, regardless excited to see all the new stuff

I'll likely make an infographic for tiered gear progression when next month's update is finished and released, because there will be a LOT of new stuff. :D

@ tarkie

Yes, this mod is compatible with FU and shouldn't present any conflicts with it. FU has some cool support for Inklings, like giving them better stats in warm climates and them being able to breathe underwater in clean water.

This mod has a lot of tiered armor, even with different sets of armor in the same tier, but not all of it is available from the start or immediately obvious.
Here's the progression for stuff you'll know from the start and won't need to unlock:

Aviator's set (t1) -> Iconic Squid's set (t2) -> Traditional set (t3) -> Agent's set (t4) (uses durasteel! you are here) -> Octoling Soldier's set (t5a) / Samurai's set (t5m) / Armored Agent's set (t5s) -> Elite Soldier's set (t6a) / Shogun's set (t6m) / War Hero's set (t6s)

out of curiosity what is the intended gear progression, alongside frackin progression, i do know the mod seems compatible with frackin. since ive just gone into durasteel tier and cant find any gear that uses it.

Whoa "sit tightand the future will reveal itself"? Well now i'm definitely overhyping myself that a separate Octoling race is coming! Soon my Agent 8, you will explore the stars! Perhaps even with your bubbly girlfriend at your side...
