Description
Izzyssentials Hydro A15
A few essential things which improve Rimworld in a slight way.

This addon provides the player with an alternative to the default hydroponics.
You can now build your custom hydroponics in the same way as you can build walls.

Note: When you change which crop to grow on the new hydroponics, it will spread this information to the ones nearby. Ordering every hydroponics connected to change to the selected crop.

Might consider either hiding or removing this mod - a16 was alooong time ago by now :P

Neat mod but I'd increase the cost for balance reasons, as taking away the challenge of fitting them to a sun lamp should justify a much higher cost.

Well, I still think you should make yours more expensive. Comparing to vanilla they are much more flexible, as you can build them one by one if you lack resourses and they are much easier to place. For hydroponics you can even use sun lamp more efficiently.
I believe there should be a choice to either use vanilla units or yours, but at the moment there is no choice basically - these are superior in every way. Additionally, components are usually harder to get than steel, more so in the early game.
Considering everything I said, solar should cost 11-12 steel and hydroponics 35 steel. But that's my opinion, hope it makes sense =)

Ah and forgot to mention that you would need 17 solars of mine to have the same output of a regular one, making the total cost 170 steel.
Thats just 5 steel less then the vanilla one.
I deem that pretty much balanced :p

Double checked the solars, turns out I changed those already.
A regular solar panel takes 100 steel, 3 components and takes up 16 blocks.
If you build 16 solars of mine, those would cost 160 steel. Thats 60 steel for the component cost.
(I know 25x3 is 75 ... but I couldnt resist the round number of 10 steel for each.)
And thx for saying it should be vanilla, thats quite the compliment =D

Glad to help. I like to keep the game challenging and use mods to add more options and convenience, so balance is important for me. I believe that your type of hydroponics should be in the base game, as the present one is pain to place, especially with the sun lamp.
Same with the solar panels. Btw I thought your solar was actually more expensive than vanilla one. Guess I was wrong. You should change it too then =)

Ah you cought me! Yes, the price has been this way since before components were added to the game. Since then I have the 'component issue' not only here but also on my solars.
I'm glad at least some people care for balance instead of asking some pretty OP stuff like in my other mod 'MAD'
I do think +10 for each would be a bit to much.
I do like the +5 though and perhaps also making them harder to construct.
(because of not having the right components and such)
The for the input, I'll make sure to change it when I got the time!

Very nice mod. I suggest you slightly increase hydroponics steel cost though. The default hydroponics costs 100 steel and 1 component and 4 of yours cost 100 steel. Seems a bit unbalanced. I guess you could add 5 steel to the unit price so 4 of them would be 120 steel. Maybe 10 would be even more fair as 1 component cost 25 steel to manufacture + assembly + work.
